Chain D.L.K.: First of all, since I read about your acting experiences and aboutyour past musical bands, can you tell our readers how the Tying Tiffany”character” was born?
Tying Tiffany: It isn’t a “character”…I am Tying Tiffany. A couple of years ago Idecided to work hard on my solo music production so I started from thebeginning, creating a nickname. Anyway everything is born for a truefunny spirit.

Chain D.L.K.: Musically your style mixes punk guitars with dance tunes (sometimesyour tracks remind me of Le Tigre). Can you tell us what brought you tocreate such a style?
Tying Tiffany: Because I’m a listener of music…just music. I don’t care aboutgenres. From an early age I was a fan of every style…from that firstrecord that my father bought for me.

Chain D.L.K.: Your label Suoni di Jato and Lorenzo Montana are linked with thefashion scene because of their musical production for fashion shows, etc.Do you feel this world affects the sound of your project?
Tying Tiffany: No, I was free to experiment with my sound. Lorenzo is a great producerthat really understands how to obtain and develop that “special sound”that sometimes grows just in the mind.

Chain D.L.K.: Lately a lot of Electroclash tunes are played at fashion shows andmany bands focus their project on the glamour aspect. Tying Tiffany is amoniker somehow linked to fetishism which sometimes is also seen as aglamour thing. How do you perceive your being Tying Tiffany?
Tying Tiffany: When I started this project I never thought about an audience inparticular, except to do what I want to do. Every style of electro isplayed not only in fashion shows but also in dirty little squats.Anyway my background is more related to EBM than electroclash…. Maybesome people can think that I’m an Electroclash artist but to me it’sonly a “label”. I’m not very excited by the whole Electroclash thing….

Chain D.L.K.: The short songs like “Telekoma”, “Running bastard” or titles like”LCD Soundsystem are Playing At My House”, show an ironic side whichcould be seen as the counterpart of the glamour side: the side thatmakes fun of the other one. Am I right in saying this? Is this becauseyou are afraid that people could take you too seriously?

Tying Tiffany: Really, I can’t see a glamour side in my music…maybe critics can seethat side. Sure, there is a certain amount of irony in my music…. Icannot expect to be taken serously because my music is very light…. Ifthere is a glamour side in my music it isn’t a crime. I think that theglamour is big part of music business…maybe a funny part of music.

Chain D.L.K.: I read that you are also part of the Suicide Girls community. Can youtell us, what does this mean for you?
Tying Tiffany: I’m happy to be part of this community ’cause it’s a community foundedby a woman and owned/ruled by a woman…. Finally, girls’ power!

Chain D.L.K.: Aren’t you afraid that being publicized as one of the Suicide Girlscould affect your musical project because people could take TyingTiffany as a “cute singing gal” only?
Tying Tiffany: Yes, everyday I have to explain to people that to be a Sucide Girl is apersonal choice. Maybe the fact that I am a musician and at the sametime a “Suicide Girl” could affect my career…. But the question is: ina positive or negative way? My answer is: I don’t give a fuck.

Chain D.L.K.: You acted in the Mazzacurati movie “La Lingua del Santo” and you alsomodeled for an art book. Can you tell us something more about theseexperiences?
Tying Tiffany: Every way that I can prove myself in different arts is always achallenge because it’s a chance to express myself in different waysand to learn something. Both experiences were amazing.

Chain D.L.K.: I read on your website that you DJ nights at clubs. What is the musicyou prefer to play? Have you already done gigs as Tying Tiffany? Whatkind of show do you do?
Tying Tiffany: As DJ I prefer to play every kind of music that I like but often I DJ tomake people dance…from electro to rock and also a little bit oftechno. As Tying Tiffany I prefer to do a live set…a true live gigwith musicians on stage. When I am on stage I try to entertain the crowdwith an energetic performance.

Chain D.L.K.: What are your next projects?
Tying Tiffany: First of all to do a good and long tour with live shows around Italy andEurope. Produce a new 12″ with Get Physical Records. Shoot a series ofshort video clips. Start working on a new album very soon.
