CD in 6 page digipack with additional 16 pages booklet with all lyrics. After three years Jännerwein have now released their second album „Nach der Sehnsucht“. The band, now grown into a quartet, continue the musical journey they began with the predecessor „Abendläuten“ and leave the numerous subcultural constraints of neofolk behind them.
The listener encounters touching, often melancholic and yearning, but nevertheless powerful folk music which transports the special atmosphere of the town of Salzburg and its surroundings, but without descending into lederhosen triviality. The sound is dominated by various classical instruments like guitar, violin, accordion, recorder and percussion, as well as polyphonic chants. The musical diversity is paralleled by one of content. Alongside genuine lyric of the artists about longing, loss and departure, adaptions of texts by related spirits like Gottfried Benn and Friedrich Nietzsche can be found.
„My Prime Of Youth“, the only English track, also features an elegiac and slightly martial collaboration with the Danish group „Die Weisse Rose“.
As mentioned above, Jännerwein manage to step out of the pure scene-related context, without renouncing their roots or loosing authenticity. The outcome of this process is of impressive beauty and timelessness, which will be appreciated by lovers of European-influenced folk, whatever their background might be.

HONEY & ASH is the first album of MIEL NOIR as the joint-project of * DIMO DIMOV (Svarrogh, Sturmpercht, Fahl)* and *MARCEL P. (Sagittarius, Allerseelen, Fahl)*. The album encompasses a variety of styles, ranging from Electronic to Gothic Rock, Apocalyptic Wave, Dark Ambient, Industrial and Neoclassic. The 2 multi-instrumentalists are supported by *GERHARD HALLSTATT (Allerseelen)* as guest-vocalist on 3 songs and 2 female vocalists known for their work with Allerseelen and Sagittarius. The CD comes with a richly designed 20-page booklet; the limited box-set with a 3” bonus-CD and a honey-scented beeswax candle.
The songs on HONEY & ASH couldn’t be more diverse. “Honig-Göttin”, already known from the compilation “Pagan Folk und Apocalyptic Psychedelia – Kapitel II”, could be the rock-oriented version of DIE WEISSE ROSE, “The burning season” is reminiscent of the best days of FORTHCOMING FIRE, „Dunkle Waben birgt der Fluß“ (with vocals by GERHARD HALLSTATT) would have been at home on many COLD MEAT – releases, “Sonnemann” is a club-hit par excellence, “Black waves rising” is reminiscent of the “Wildhoney” – phase of TIAMAT, “Der Himmel fällt” is pure Angst-Pop and “Schwarzer Honig” shows GERHARD HALLSTATT’s vocal styles known from ALLERSEELEN – concerts.
Some of the material has already been performed at concerts in Spain, Croatia, Denmark and the Netherlands. Each of the 16 songs has been illustrated by the artist Claudia Summerer with beautiful drawings, visualizing the topic of each track. VASILISK:* after the mysterious Japanese Power-Noise band “WHITE HOSPITAL” split up into “GRIM” and “VASILISK”, the newborn band released 3 fantastic LPs in 1987-89, which became some of the most wanted and most expensive records in the collector’s scene, already short after their release. in 1990 the 3 LPs were followed by a brilliant “best of” CD (Liaberation & Ecstasy), which was definitely one of the best Ritual albums ever released. after the release of this CD it went quite silent around the band, but now, after more than 20 years, Tomo Kuwahara (Vasilisk) is back with the same amazing Ritual Music than before! he played a great live-concert in Japan short ago (please find the youtube links below) and his brandnew album will be released on Steinklang soon! *mp3: **Grief* http://www.steinklang.at/SK-IN18_03.mp3
