Review PAL Version. This beautiful and unique 90 minute documentary piece, recorded at the Walker Stage in New York City on November 10th 2002, is a career-spanning collection of 30 tracks ( 29 on the PAL version ) , each receiving definitive live performance in Death In June’s more recent stripped-down acoustic arrangements. Evolving from the seminal political-punk band Crisis in the early 80s, Death in June has been the vehicle for Douglas P. to create a unique fusion of electronics, martial drumming, and esoteric lyrics and visual symbolism. His work has spawned a new musical genre of its own, which some have called ‘neo-folk’. Along the way, he has collaborated with most of the influential artists in the industrial, neo-folk and experimental / noise scenes, including Boyd Rice, Rose McDowall, Jhon Balance and Michael Cashmore. While this disc will help the uninitiated to catch-up with one of the most important musical voices performing today, fans will appreciate that this DVD memorializes a concert that was nearly 21 years to the day that the band made its live debut, opening for The Birthday Party in London. The intimate setting allows Douglas P. to interact directly with the audience, taking spontaneous requests from fans and providing charming background stories for each song : which one was written while sleeping on David Tibet’s library floor … or which one actually knocked the Rolling Stones off the British charts… Please Note : ONLY the NTSC Version of this release includes the track “Rose Clouds of Holocaust” due to the fact, that this song ( and consequently the entire album of the same name ) has been banned in Germany. Review The Depeche Mode live concert film filmed during the 1993 European Devotional Tour in Barcelona and Frankfurt and to be released as a double DVD set on September 30th 2004 and will include the complete concert plus EXTRA tracks that were ommitted for the US video releases. Review Although Al Jourgensen has said adios to MINISTRY, YOU don’t ever have to really say goodbye to the legendary industrial rock band, thanks to Jourgensen’s indie imprint 13th Planet Records. The release of “Adios… Putas Madres” as a live CD in March 2009, is now being followed by a double DVD. MINISTRY’s all-star line-up for the 2008 “C U LaTouR” featured their founder Jourgensen joined onstage by guitarists Tommy Victor (PRONG) and Sin Quirin (REVOLTING COCKS), keyboardist John Bechdel (PRONG, ASCENSION OF THE WATCHERS, FALSE ICON), bassist Tony Campos (STATIC X), drummer Aaron Rossi (PRONG), and vocalist Burton C. Bell (FEAR FACTORY, ASCENSION OF THE WATCHERS) as special featured guest. Most of the performing musicians in the MINISTRY line-up for the final tour are also recording artists on Jourgensen’s 13th Planet Records. The first disc features performances recorded over the course of the band’s 75-city global farewell jaunt which kicked off March 25, 2008 in Spokane, WA and concluded with two final sell-out shows in Dublin, Ireland on July 19, 2008.
