The Polish Asymmetry Festival promotes itself, 100 days before the grand opening, with the excellent graphic art by Malleus and a show by the native metal legend, the group Vader.

Just like in the past years, the Asymmetry poster is the work of the outstanding artists from the Italian Malleus Rock Art Lab studio, also well-known from their work as the stoner metal group Ufomammut. An exhibition of works by Malleus will be held during the festival, which will take place between 01-04.05.2013 at the Wroclaw-based Centennial Hall.

The extensive catalogue of the group includes graphic art projects for such artists as, among others: Amanda Palmer, Baroness, Brant Bjork, The Chemical Brothers, The Cure, Eagles of Death Metal, Fantômas, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, Incubus, Isis, Kings of Leon, Korn, Linkin Park, Mars Volta, Melvins, Mark Lanegan, Muse, Nine Inch Nails, The Prodigy, Robert Plant, Queen of the Stone Age, Tool and many more. Malleus works are inspired by diverse sources, especially the painting techniques of expressionism and symbolism, Art Nouveau and surrealism, pop and psychedelic art. They explore the topic of primitive goddesses in their output.

So far, the following have confirmed their appearance at the Wroclaw-based festival: Melvins (US), Cult of Luna (SWE), Shining (NOR), The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble (NE), Amenra (BEL), Mayhem (NOR), Agalloch (US), Ufomammut (IT), Von Magnet (UK), Metallic Taste Of Blood (IT), Balázs Pándi (HU), IconAclass (US), Astronautalis (US), Matadores (IT). Unfortunately, the Dutch band Wormskull has cancelled their show.

We will soon reveal more artist names, among others, an interesting showcase of Polish bands and more groups from Estonia and Ukraine.

New additions to the festival programme are the Polish metal legend – Vader and the Estonian group Nevesis.

Vader celebrate their 30th anniversary this year. They continuously tour the US, Australia, Japan, South America and Europe since three decades.

Nevesis, originating from a small Estonian town, Paide, was founded in 2008. They perform music from the verge of stoner and hard rock.

We also invite you to read an interesting interview conducted by Lesław Dutkowski with Robert Chmielewski – the festival director, which can be found on the following website:
