On June 4th Peter Rohaufer's Lower East Side (NYC) record label *69 put out the first double-set of mixes by these two talented American techno Dj's/producers and by doing so added the first all-starts-and-strips chapter to the Tide:Edit series started by London-based Tide recordings. The DC-based duo is well known in the house scene for remixes of Kylie Minogue, Peter Bailey, Celeda ("The Underground") and others and as a matter of fact they are also contributing to the global beatmix scene with their own Addictive label's LowLIT Series.
Each disc (one for each trendsetter) presents 11 mind-altering tech-house whirlpools that sure will ignite global dance floors along with their genre-fellows tastemakers Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Laurent Garnier and the like. The overall sound is slowly changing, low-profile but but high value... It's almost like calm almost spiritual meet beat-driven solid persistence. Tracks by Peter Bailey, Sub Project, Revolt, Steve Parry, Spartak, Lorient, Kenny Shifter, Swain Snell & Lucas, BlackWatch and many others.
Besides having a residency at Washington's Red the two signed for European booking agency Excession (same one that provides for Sasha) so you'll be sure to see more of them over there in case you missed them in the hottest US floors (NY's Twilo, SF's Release, Ibiza's Space, Montreal's Sona and so forth).
Of course this album will also be available as a double 12" for all you spinners out there.
