The Flaming Fire, from Brooklyn NY, have been around for a while and their newest work of love is called "Songs from the Shining Temple" and is a straight-in-your-face mixture of raw and screaming post-punk, ethnic roots, folk psychedelia... Their fuzzy and hippie sound reminds of the Residents, Primus, Cop Shot Cop, Atari Teeneage Riot and especially their singer Hanin Elias, CP01, Devo and many others. The rough fabric generated by the clash of such diverse sonorities coupled with screaming punk female vocals, frenetic and vanguard (in the context) keyboards, honky tonky piano parts, occasional country parts and other extravaganzas provide for an eccentric digi-glitching blend of crazy influences from all over the place. Not sure where they are going with it, but definitely quite original. If you feel inspired you may order online from their Brooklyn-based label Perhaps Transparent.
