Taking elements of rock, glitch, retro electronic, and coloring it with a decidedly melodic worldview, Iris is a band that’s hard to classify. Since 2002, Reagan Jones and Andrew Sega have been working under the radar with a sound that conjures a collision between mid-90’s Depeche Mode, post-punk, and the spirit of old country songs. Never one to rest on their laurels, their fourth studio release, “Blacklight” is a darkly progressive affair – 9 songs of haunting, crisply produced tracks, mixing 4AD-esque atmospheres with tight, firm beats. Released on Diffusion. NOW SHIPPING!

Crossing the borders between art, rebellion, passion, apocalypse and sex, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio have managed to settle in their very own musical niche with their opulent and intense sonic sculptures. “Songs 4 Hate & Devotion” is an emotional rollercoaster ride driven by the intense voice of Tomas Petterson that alternates martially majestic monuments of orchestral sounds, marching drums and percussion with very intimate and fragile moments, mingles Cold-Wave-, Shoegazing- and Minimal-elements with folkloristic structures and that manages to slip in the odd musical quote as well. The Swedish duo has carefully opened and evolved its unique sound into a wholly exceptional epic that consequently evades any easy categorization. Pop music for non-conformists. „Songs 4 Hate & Devotion“ is released as a limited first edition double CD containing the bonus disc „4 More Songs 4 Hate & Devotion“. The 2CDs come in a slider-package. Released on Out Of Line and available October 29th, 2010.

15 years of Solitary Experiments! This memorable jubilee of one of Germany’s most popular Melodic-Electro-bands simply calls for a celebration in form of an exceptional compilation CD. 15 special, previously unreleased Solitary Experiments tracks (including collaborations with other artists, remixes by other artists, remixes for other artists and new interpretations of the band’s biggest hits) make this limited album release (1500 copies in a deluxe Digipak) an extraordinary “birthday treat” for fans and newcomers to the band’s oeuvre. Illustrious names such as Wumpscut, Dance Or Die or Noisuf-X have collaborated with Solitary Experiments for “Compendium 2”, which also features a rare remix that the band created for Italian cult-act Kirlian Camera. It is hardly any wonder that the first instalment of “Compendium”, which was released three years ago, was sold out in no time. A special birthday tribute for one of the most influential German Electro-bands of our time! Released on Out Of Line and available October 29th, 2010.

How do you set a city to music? Two lads from Berlin that go by the name of Formalin have dared the attempt to tackle the gargantuan task of creating a sonic monument for their hometown, aptly naming the resulting sound “Berlin City Industrial.” Their brainchild is raw, aggressive, unpolished, dirty, repulsive, beautiful, glamorous and stylish all at once – just like the world’s most exciting city. Singer and mastermind Tominous and drummer and producer Gabor merge daring and creative sound design with relentlessly harsh sonic works branded with a highly addictive potential: a rough and fascinating club sound that shamelessly provokes where other bands prefer to follow long-faded trends. “Bodyminding” is a purging sonic storm for a shop worn genre, created in the spirit of the early works of Skinny Puppy or Mentallo & The Fixer, but with a sound that has its sights set on the future and that is heavily infused with the spirit of Germany’s capital. The Hard-Electro-pioneers from Hocico were so impressed by the band’s music that they invited Formalin to support them on their European tour without further ado. Berlin – the steel work symphony of a metropolis! Released on Out Of Line and available October 29th, 2010.

Raggedy Angry’s new album, How I Learned to Love Our Robot Overlords, is the band’s first release on Vancouver-based industrial/alternative label Synthetic Sounds in North America and Danse Macabre Records in Europe. It finds the Toronto-based electro-rock quintet narrowing in on a sound that started developing on the previous album, Pestilence: synth-heavy, raw and aggressive, yet tight and hooky as Hell. Like Pestilence, How I Learned to Love Our Robot Overlords found Raggedy Angry working with industrial mastermind Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson), who mixed both albums. Ogilvie was hooked by Raggedy Angry’s mix of crunchy riffs and electronic hooks after hearing their 2007 debut Take Me, Break Me, Make Me Pretty. Ogilvie wasn’t alone. After hearing just a couple of songs from Raggedy Angry’s MySpace, Synthetic founder Mark Sommer insisted on working with Raggedy Angry. The record’s European release date on Danse Macabre Records on October 1st is timed to coincide with the band’s second tour opening for Toronto-based heatseeking Goth electro rockers the Birthday Massacre. The electro 1-2 punch will be storming across the UK throughout October before tearing up North America opening up for industrial legends Front Line Assembly in November. Raggedy Angry has previously toured Europe with the Birthday Massacre and Canada with Die Mannequin. Wherever they go, however they are heard, Raggedy Angry are worming their way into fan’s hearts and minds and taking no prisoners. Released on Synthetic Sounds and available October 12th, 2010.

A strange Thing to say” (EP) is part 1 of the trilogy -or more specifically- the opening chapter of “A Triptychon of GHOSTS (or: El Sexorcismo de Anna-Varney Cantodea)”. It’ a completely rotten (but otherwise fabulous) audio/visual documentary, staring the young & breath-takingly beautiful, trans-gendered Goddess ANNA-VARNEY CANTODEA in her most daring spiritual endeavour: a ghoulish struggle to purify her fragile mortal body, as well as the divinity of her ancient soul, of any and all dormant sexual desire (and otherwise related, inherently addictive or zombiefying behaviour and/or thought-patterns)… by boldly unearthing, externalising and eventually expelling its lurking demons. An EP without compromise and with a dirty new sound. Recorded and co-produced by Patrick Damiani (ROME) “A strange Thing to say” now features 5+1 horrible pieces of freakish gothic music(k) by SOPOR AETERNUS & The Ensemble Of Shadows … – and a video on DVD, which is included in the digibook edition. That’s disgusting too. ANNA-VARNEY CANTODEA is reinventing herself with each release, without ever losing track of her roots. Soleilmoon Recordings is proud to announce “Apes of a Cold God”, the debut release by Swedish folk/industrial band Lovac.   Lovac is a new band with old roots, having already released a full-length CD of Death in June covers on Douglas P.’s NERUS label under the name Down in June. With a distinctive “totenpop” vision they re-invented the songs to the delight of both Death In June fans and music journalists who discovered the treasure of Douglas P. songs anew.   Lovac’s music evokes a night-of-the-world mood that deftly calls down the nostalgia of romanticism and overlays it with a war machine blowing a cold breeze of death into the dawn. Lovac is part of a larger movement of modern European pop music that draws inspiration from traditional folk music and brings it to new life in a fertile clash with the contemporary minimalistic industrial scene.  Analogue synthesizers are layered over electric guitars, supplemented with a variety of acoustic instruments, including military drums and the band’s ever-present Persian santoor, creating the unique music that defines Lovac. Combining this music with text fragments from Karl Marx, Antonin Artaud and Percy Bysshe Shelley, the album “Apes of a Cold God” invites the listener to take a deep look into the abysmal underside of civilization. Soleilmoon’s high standards in packaging are found in abundance with this CD, which is presented in a lavishly printed mini-LP style sleeve with gold foil blocking and an eight page booklet. Lovac is based in Malmö. The bands four members live in Malmö, Berlin, Stockholm and Beirut. Released on Soleilmoon and available October 18th, 2010.

Chicago’s female-fronted act I:SCINTILLA (pronounced “eye-sin-til-uh”) returns in 2010 with their much anticipated new album “Dying & Falling”. This new CD marks the band’s fourth straight collaboration with the studio genius Wade Alin (The Atomica Project, Christ Analogue) and his slick production style. This 11-track collection finds I:SCINTILLA redefining their sound once again and pushing genre rules by the wayside. In addition to their metal-infused electronica signature, the quartet still finds room for synthpop, trip-hop, and indie electro explorations!    Frontwoman Brittany Bindrim’s distinct and seductive voice once again leads the way through this beautiful album alternating infectious anger moments (from the club stomper “Swimmers can drown” to the explosive rapid-fire industrial-metal angst of “Ammunition” or yet the club hit “Prey on you”) with more catchy and intimate songs (the catchy and addictive “Worth the wait”, the precious little trip-hop pearl “Dying & falling” or the grandiose orchestral piece “The shake”). I:SCINTILLA have always found their force with their unique ability to seamlessly jump genres, from fast paced furious tracks to electro songs with a lighter synth-pop feel, all with ever present thread of charisma and alluring attitude. “Dying & Falling” is also available as a limited edition box set that features the “Resuscitation” bonus disc containing exclusive new tracks, alternate versions, and club remixes by acts like IRIS, THE DREAMSIDE, ESSENCE OF MIND, DJ RAM and FREAKANGEL. Released on Alfa Matrix and available December 3rd, 2010.

If there is one band who knows no single compromise in their work and attitude, it is the rebellious Italian/British combo ALIEN VAMPIRES! BEWARE: Nysrok Infernalien (Voice, Guitars, Keys) and Nightstalker (Drums, Keys, Production) are fucking alive and strike back with their 4th release entitled “Harshlizer” on their new label Alfa Matrix. This is an album that is bound to atomize dancefloors across the universe and it will accelerate your descent to hell in no time… The raging revolted cyber punks of ALIEN VAMPIRES live every day like as if it were their last day on Earth. With more than explicit and perverted lyrics, provocative bloody and sexual images, and extreme live shows, the band never cared about who they might offend! An attitude that definitely carried over into their music, an outrageous blend of harsh elektro, goth metal and obscene industrial dance. This new studio album will once again offer you an exploding palette of sound ranging from the devastating beats of their new club hits “Harshlizer”, “Control The Universe” or yet the hypnotic “She’s In Drugs (more than me)” to the more noisy-guitar dark industrial pieces like “Dearth March” or “Her Blood Into My Veins”! Their trademark sound is also stalking, “evil bloody” tunes breathe disillusion, deceit, pessimism and ultimate darkness. Our heavily drugged cyberspace vampires also did not hesitate to make a blasphemous cover version of “See You In Hell” by their good old friend from SUICIDE COMMANDO (featuring Johan Van Roy himself on vocals)!! ALIEN VAMPIRES offer us a full-frontal attack on all senses for your ultimate descent to hell… and back? A powerful opus that will for sure reinforce their eclectic fanbase (electro, industrial, goth, metal…). The one and only ALIEN VAMPIRES gang are back in town for your ultimate sonic pleasure: please hide the kids from your monitors: loud and explicit music is coming your way! The album will also be released as a deluxe carton box edition with the exclusive 15-track bonus album featuring 2 exclusive tracks plus the remix work of artists like AMGOD, FREAKANGEL, ACYLUM, DIE SEKTOR, CHAINREACTOR, NEIKKA RPM, PHOSGORE, etc. Released on Alfa Matrix and available December 3rd, 2010.

1CD version here:

This one-man American band fits into the electro / industrial rock genre that mixes trashy guitar with depressive piano rolls, and aggressive intricate electronics all fused together with Joshua Steffen’s raging sexuality, and high energy synthesizers. All these elements all bundled up collide with personal demons and powerful attitude. Drawing from influences as diverse as DEPECHE MODE, Peter Gabriel, MINISTRY or yet Rob Zombie, but it is with NINE INCH NAILS’ early and more aggressive days that HALO IN REVERSE’s music is the most easily compared to. If obviously following the direction brought by Trent Reznor, Joshua Steffen is definitely doing his own thing, combining emotional melodies with caustic synthesizer and guitar textures, mixing the organic with the synthetic in a mélange that is as enticing as it is aggravating. His most striking and dominant unique characteristic is within his passionate and intoxicating voice: strong, decadent, artfully lustrous and dreamy. On “Trials and Tribulations”, HALO IN REVERSE presents the ultimate display of an artist taking his powers to  his utmost, focusing on musicianship and solid songwriting resulting in both great music and strong lyrics. An album that reveals awesome production work and a degree of musicianship seldom seen around these parts, on which the music just flows and influences combine fluidly. An album filled with emotion and the pain that only love can bring us when it is no longer returned. Betrayal, bitterness, depression and sexuality bring the setting of this industrial/electro pop-rock chef d’oeuvre of pure sensual intensity you will play again, and again, and again… and again until the tears end up rolling… A cleansing experience!   The album will also be released as a limited carton box edition with a bonus disc including 5 exclusive bonus songs, plus 11 alternative versions and remixes from other artists. Many discovered HAUSHETAERE through Nadine Cooraz’s collaborations with the harsh elektro act ACYLUM where she brought melody and femininity to Pedro Engel’s devastating orchestral electronic arrangements. Since then both German artists rapidly felt the magic growing between them and they let that unique creative flow unite their tormented minds… they let the machines speak. The German couple now presents to us HAUSHETAERE’s debut CD “Syndicate”, a very eclectic album with no conceptual limits, including influences ranging from Electro, Industrial, Pop and Hip Hop. A surprising mélange of genres and influences with the guiding red line of the angry and revolted personality of frontwoman Nadine Cooraz Engel. On this rich cocktail of opposites, HAUSHETAERE manage to jump from extreme harsh noisy elektro (“Rotes Sofa”, the intoxicating “Rauschgift” or yet the bombastic “Sunshine is my destroyer”) to dark melodic moody pop (The Game, “Hetaere”, etc.) with a disturbing facility and a deviant touch. The German duo has also broken all scene boundaries by collaborating in studio with the famous Aggro Berlin rapper Joe Rilla who’s performance on “Believe” creates a bridge between Hip Hop and Elektro! HAUSHETAERE absolutely goes beyond taboo, throwing rap elements into industrial, synth pop into dark elektro, noise into hip-hop, making “Syndicate” much more than just a feminine extension of ACYLUM. “Syndicate” is a multi-colored release full of melodic angst and fragile darkness that can be seen as the extreme sonic mixture of BLUTENGEL versus PZYCHOBITCH, or MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO versus COMBICHRIST? No matter how you interpret their sound, HAUSHETAERE is here to provoke and shock your ears!  React! The album is also released as a limited deluxe carton box edition including the bonus “remix album “Syndicus” presenting some 13 reinterpretations of album songs by various artists in the likes of LEAETHER STRIP, ACYLUM, C-LEKKTOR, DARKMEN, DOLLS OF PAIN, AD INFERNA, and others. Released on Alfa Matrix and available November 19th, 2010.
