After 2008’s zany “Meanwhile, Back in the Jungle”, Massiv in Mensch pull no punches on their sixth studio album, the aptly titled “Niemand weiss, was die Zukunft bringt” (Nobody Knows What the Future Will Bring). The album opens with an intro featuring the unmistakable voice of German actor Reiner Schoene (notable as the German voice-over voice of Darth Vader, as well as roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, Babylon 5, and more). Schoene went into the recording studio especially for this release, so its a real treat for cult movie buffs. Also making an appearance is, adding a synthpop vibe and subtle harmonies to Massiv in Mensch’s killer sound. The album features a cover of the cult techno hit Die Kybernauten (recently back in the spotlight on a re-issue on German label Infacted) as well as a guest appearance from Kontrast vocalist Nebelgeist. Massiv in Mensch deliver 14 tracks of techno-inspired dance music without ever missing a beat! Released on Artoffact and available December 7th, 2010.

Bloody snow! Hard-Electro-legend Suicide Commando unleashes his very own winter time inferno! “Death Cures All Pain”, the second single from their latest long playing album “Implements of Hell” is a thudding, dark and ferocious mid tempo monster that is bound to literally move (through sheer bass power) and infiltrate listeners with a combination of massive beats and menacing atmosphere. This is no mere dance track; this is sonic horror that punches you straight in the guts. The new maxi CD sports not only three remixes of the title track (club-heavy reworks by Aesthetic Perfection and :SITD: among them) and two other remixes of album tracks, but also the whiplashing aggro-pounding non-album B-side “Go fuck Yourself” in two floor- smashing versions, resulting in a club-inferno that is almost at album length. If you like your Christmas dark, beat-laden and filled with menace, this electronic thunderstorm is for you! This is a limited EP and will be sold out quick, just like the previous two singles on Out of Line! Released on Out Of Line and available November 26th, 2010.

Winter time, the dark time of the year, a mystic time for dreams, legends and fairy tales! Berlin-based band Blutengel, pioneering the fusion of dark, fantastic Gothic-sounds and lively Electro Pop for more than a decade, has established the nice, little tradition of dishing up a fitting sound track for the magical Christmas season in form of an exclusive single release every year. This year’s goodie, “Promised Land”, recorded with a fresh and new line up, will be released on November 26th as a limited maxi CD. The title track, a perfect melange of dark pomp and an ultra-catchy melody on a rock- solid beat will be included on “Promised Land” in a single-version as well as in three different remixes (one of them from CHROM) and can easily stand in line with the greatest hits of the charts-accustomed group. The b-side “A Miracle” is an elegiac ballad that is sure to melt you away. And the best is: none of the tracks included on this sonic gem will ever be released on any album! The new album is expected for February 2011. Released on Out Of Line and available November 26th, 2010.

HIGHLY Limited 7″ vinyl version:

Winter time and especially the Christmas season have been inspiring musicians of all eras around the globe. Enter SPECTRA*paris. Just barely half a year after Elena Alice Fossi’s latest outing “License To Kill”, the charismatic Kirlian-Camera-singer embarks on a very special journey ex- ploring the cold season’s atmosphere and her softer side. Framed by two otherworldly renditions of “Silent Night”, a Christmas classic if ever there was one, SPECTRA*paris envelop us in a climate of pure magic, infused by the spirit of the enchanted heavens, saints and ghosts, invisible devils and a sense of the sacred, but also allowing disquieting moments to sneak in every once in a while. As far removed from the cringe-inducing kitsch that floods the record dealers’ shelves at the end of every year as can be, this little sonic gem not only uncovers a previously unknown side of the band but is also THE definitive sound track for all those who have always longed to invoke a Christmas spirit of a different kind. Magical with a flight of sinister, “Christmas Ghouls” sounds like the Archangel Gabriel and Lucifer playing chess on a snowy night in a parallel universe. The experience unfolds on November 26th on CD in a deluxe Digipak! Released on Out of Line.

Hit-laden songs at the intersection of Electro-Pop and EBM. On their second album “Maschinentanz”, f.o.d. effectively continue down the path they embarked on with their debut. With vocal support from ex-Blutengel Eva Poelzing and a sack full of club-compatible, emotional and melodic tunes, the trio’s groovy machine dance is enhanced by German and English lyrics that can be contemplative, tongue in cheek or rather direct. The young German Electro-nauts avoid being easily pigeonholed, assembling a distinctive, yet brazenly catchy, eclectic sound of their own from the various stylistic possi- bilities that synthetic music has to offer. Serving as the long-awaited missing link between the Bodypop of And One, the Minimal-gadgetry of Welle:Erdball and the Melodic Electro sound of bands like Solitary Experiments, “Maschinentanz” is rather effective. Listen. Love. Dance! F.O.D. are supporting AND ONE on their ‘Tanzomat’ Tour. Released on Fear Section and available November 26th, 2010.

Alexander Hacke is known as the bass player of Einstürzende Neubauten and main figure in Fatih Akins movie “Crossing the Bridge”. Besides collaborating in countless bands on the side he has also been composing film scores for two decades. The American born Danielle de Picciotto was singer of the “Space Cowboys” and Gudrun Gut’s “Ocean Club” and is an icon in Berlin’s creative underground and co-founder of the Love Parade together with Dr Motte. Her art and film projects are exhibited internationally.  Hacke/ de Piccciotto have been a huge influence on Berlins underground scene since the eighties and have been touring the world with their collaborations since 2000. Their new album goes back to the basics. After deciding to give up their house in Berlin 2010 the couple is on the road in search of new horizons. Celebrating this restless nomadic lifestyle they decided to go back to classic songwriting, without sequencing or electronic processing. Concentrating purely on their instruments (guitar, autoharp, keyboards, drums) their songs can be performed on any stage and unplugged. Disregarding fashion, conventions or everyday standards, their lyrics speak of the world they are discovering: “Solitude”, “Magic” and “Freedom”. The brew Ballads, gypsy rolls, Italo Western piano tunes, heavy guitar riffs and Autoharp transports the audience into the world of the uncompromising explorer. Released on Potomak and available November 26th, 2010.

There is the intro, “Sirius Business”. The aim is clear, highly cosmic but never presumptuous. Aerial samples gobbled up by waves of saturated riffs, a few moving seconds to, yet again, glide into the doors of perfection. Welcome to the heart of “Everybody Knows”, the new Young Gods album. This is a band that has never ceased to conceive soundtracks for the great unknown, ballads for outer worlds. There is that voice that rises endlessly like a summer sun over the jungle, vibrating to the sound of some newly discovered ancient music, drinking straight from the fountains of psychedelic rock and the rivers of ambient electronics… The song is called “Blooming”. It is as direct and inspiring as the tracks that have marked the history of rock and pop in the last five decades. And this is only a warm-up. The monumental “No Land’s Man” comes in right on its tail, dancing like a panther lost under the lights of San Francisco’s Matrix club. As 1968 makes way for 2010, a new era is upon us. “No Land’s Man”, future live behemoth, dynamites the brain with its hendrixian solos splashing into infinity like a group of mad gipsies straight out of a Philip K. Dick dream.  Even after a song like that, the manic tension doesn’t falter as the band follows up with “Mister Sunshine”, a shamanic meditation cum colossal anthem, sublime soaring vocals joining a celestial choir only to finish the flight by crashing down on our hearts and souls. The album flows on with “Miles Away”, a long four o’clock tea shared between a hard rock band and an ambient minimalist master. The record also has its share of softer moments (“Two To Tango”, “Aux Anges”), bringing the listener back to the olden days of the band without them ever sounding nostalgic, before climaxing with “Once Again”, an eight minute sonic free fall after which returning to normal existence seems almost painful. Should one even need to point out that the Young Gods are breathtaking and tight as ever? Franz Treichler, Al Comet, Bernard Trontin and Vincent Hänni have come out with a world shaped album, undefinable, acoustic, electric, electronic, vintage and avant garde that subtly compiles recent experiences (“Knock On Wood”, “Woodstock”) and a majestic past (“TV Sky”, “Second Nature”). “Everybody Knows” is a record that will haunt you for a lifetime. Rhys Fulber, the Canadian-born artist and producer behind Conjure One is set to release his third album, EXILARCH, on November 9 on Nettwerk Records. The current single, “Like Ice,” features vocals by one of dance music’s most sought after voices, Jaren Cerf (Armin Van Buuren, John O’Callaghan, Matt Cerf). As a member of industrial rock outfit, Front Line Assembly and later, Delerium, Fulber went on to sell a quarter of a million albums in the US and over a million units worldwide with the collaborative Delerium album, Karma. On Conjure One’s self-titled debut, two singles – “Tears From The Moon” and “Sleep” – placed #1 on the UK Club Chart and #3 on Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. Having worked with a diverse collection of artists – Josh Groban, P.O.D., Sarah Brightman, Mudvayne, Sinead O’Connor, Megadeth, Fear Factory – the multi-talented Fulber brings his expertise to his solo project. Exilarch (a reference to the Jewish leaders of the Babylonian exile) is a nomadic album that travels between light and dark, meticulously incorporating world-influenced instrumentals grounded with haunting vocals, lush textures and subtle electrobeats. Original announced as ‘Beyond’ single, the new release by DIE KRUPPS now evolved into a mini-album. ‘Als wären wir für immer’ is the first DIE KRUPPS (mini) album with exclusively new material since 1997! With this 8-tracks mini-album, DIE KRUPPS again are breaking new ground, without denying their roots or moving away from their own unique sound… this album is 100% DIE KRUPPS… DIE KRUPPS 2010! Dance floor killers meet groove monsters, moving through the room like a steamroller… catchy melodies, massive hooks and lyrics with a message are DIE KRUPPS trademarks, and this album proves it again: body and mind are in perfect synchronicity! The remixes complete the picture and show the broad spectrum of DIE KRUPPS music – and prove that remixes can very well have a purpose… the UNHEILIG remix for example was a result of a show both bands played together 3 years ago, when UNHEILIG was not yet the headlining band they are today (Unheilig in Germany are a Top 5 chart-band nowadays!)! Out of pure sympathy, both bands agreed to remix each other’s music… the DIE KRUPPS remix was the first to be released, but because the band is only now releasing a new album, the UNHEILIG remix of ‘Beyond’ wasn’t released earlier… fortunately, the track hasn’t aged a bit and sounds as fresh and exciting as it did when it was originally conceived. ‘Dr. Mabuse’ finally, an absolute ’80s classic by Ralf Dörper’s former band PROPAGANDA, which has been in DIE KRUPPS’ live repertoire since the early ’90s and was played more frequently again in recent years, also found its way onto this album… it was decided that it was finally time to release a studio recording of DIE KRUPPS’ frenetic version of the cult track. All new songs were again produced by Jürgen Engler & Chris Lietz… for the music, Jürgen Engler joined forces with guitarist Marcel Zürcher, who has been in the band since its reunion in 2005… Another featured track ‘The Chameleon Man’ which is a collaboration with Chile’s best Industrial Rock act VIGILANTE. After ‘Too Much History’ now there is ‘Als wären wir für immer’ (engl.: ‘As if we were forever’)… it seems like there is no end in sight for DIE KRUPPS! The motto is as always: VOLLE KRAFT VORAUS! (Full steam ahead!). Released on Synthetic Symphony and available November 26th, 2010.

The name itself stems from the drug-assisted aversion therapy found in the novel and film “A Clockwork Orange”, in which the patient is forced to view violent imagery while injected with experimental medication in an attempt to condition the subjects behavior. The Ludovico Technique as a band takes this concept and transforms it into music. The lyrical content draws from personal experience and observation – you will hear nothing which has not been translated from feeling to sound. It is harsh industrial music highlighting the dark aspects of the human experience as well as the depths to which the human mind can deteriorate. Available November 26th, 2010.

2010 album from the British Electronic/Synth Pop band, their first new album in 14 years. The album was produced by OMD and mixed by one of the UK’s most in demand producers Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys/Blood Red Shoes/Razorlight). History Of Modern is a powerful, pulsating, vibrant and contemporary album with a strong Pop sensibility. Tracks such as ‘Pulse’, ‘Save Me’, ‘Sister Marie Says’ and ‘The Future’ are huge future dancefloor fillers while others like the downtempo ‘Bondage Of Fate’, ‘If You Want It’ and ‘Sometimes’ are quite simply beautiful, classic OMD songs. The music sees a return to the band’s early pioneering electronic roots, a sound that is now recognized as being a major influence on many of today’s electro artists. The likes of LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, The XX and The Killers have all cited OMD as a massive inspiration.

In Hands Paper-Pack! This new and 5th album of 5F-X continues where they left off with ‘The Xenomorphians your Friendly Invasion’, powerful club-oriented electro sci-fi tribal industrial at its best. Flight Recorder 5.0 offers 8 new tracks and 2 remixes of tracks you probably come in contact with in the clubs. Typical powerful beats meet electronica sounds, lo-fi sci-fi sounds and radio messages. Some of these messages are difficult to understand, but we were able to record things such as files of the pulsating audionautic sequence controller – ‘a.s.c.- epsylon’ become an announcement of impending groove-quakes during the flight recordings. Giant wobbles stalking the com traffic, assimilating everything in its atmospheres. With a 5F-X crewmember working the controls, the satellite FX-5 in flight traffic-scanning mode reached down to update the xenomorphian invasion coordinates. Powerful, melting rhythmic styles catch the pilots and hypnotize their feet. The ‘Crowdscanner 5000’, capable of scanning through any life form synops… Did you ‘get’ it? Rafael Martinez Espinosa aka Barcelona Geistform convinced us over the last years at all the important festivals and on his releases, as a producer with modern aesthetic of analogue industrial beats, full of energy – in some ways connected to the rhythm ’n’noise scene, and in some way close to minimal techno and idm. On his 4th studio album, this time dedicated to Transistors, that without them, electronic music would not be possible. On the structures of static, kicking noise rhythms with minimal, analogue techno-industrial bass lines, his composit ions are arranged with short wave radio sounds field recordings of background noises and frequencies captured in a electric power-station. Taking the techy, aggressive powernoise of ‘Square Form Annihilations’ and the cleaner more methodical beat-driven styling’s of ‘Flawed’, EDGEY delivers his third and long awaited full-length release on HANDS. No stranger to conflicting sound design; EDGEY’s ‘Misfire’ explores the dichotomy of rough and powerful noise with the smooth and methodical structures of breakcore-oriented drum’n’bass and idm. EDGEY’s latest release is as dangerous as a misfire. It’s storm full of energy and roughness and for sure he is one of the brightest stars in the breakcore-drum’n’bass universe. Stephen James Knight AKA EDGEY is a New York based electronic music producer, writer and artist working in the veins of Drum’n’Bass, idm, breakcore, Noise and Industrial for over 15 years, cataloguing a respectable number of releases in each of the varying genre’s, and continues to help shape the sound for the future. Soundartist Denise Ritter aka Schachtanlage Gegnort has been doing her electroacoustic sound art since 1997, composing industrial noise music by recording sounds of the coal and steel industry and coal-mining. On ‘Aufgelassen’ she creates a blend of darkness and mystery, creating pulsating sound worlds by using the recordings of industrial sounds of pounding machines, voice samples of steel workers, sounds of steel, stone and delay rooms. Most recordings were made deep under Earth in mines or steel-mills. Those sound worlds have on one hand organic structures, on the other hand mechanical structures, in total ‘aufgelassen’ offers quite various yet exciting, deep and almost mysterious atmospheres. Denise Ritter studied sound art in Saarbrücken and has performed throughout the last years many sound installations and sound sculptures all over Europe. In 2010 she won the Deutschen Klangkunstpreis. Her self-released albums ‘Einsatzstoffe & Energie’ (1997) and ‘Erzengel’ (1998) became milestones of post industrial music, and after her release ’41 Jahre ‘ (2005) on HANDS, here is her second album for the label. With ‘Destinazione Magnetica’ – nearly a decade ago with HANDS Catalog number HANDS D030, the Ancona based musician Maurizio Landini released an absolutely unique and magical piece of electronica; probably many years too early. Here, finally, is the second album. 10 years later, Typhoid’s sound has developed further, perhaps less nervous yet still keeps the quality level that is an experimental merger of empathic chillout ambient soundscapes and IDM influenced eclectic beats. Intelligent and breaky beats, sharp as diamonds, fly through warm and crystal clear electronica sounds and chill-out atmospheres. Simulazione di Divinità offers 11 IDM tracks at its best and includes an extended Version of Biscuits and Water and an outstanding remix of Isolationaut done by label mate ORPHX. In Hands Paper-Pack! The PCP Principle returns with his second album – a crushing blend of grinding beats and epic, cinematic arrangements unlike anything you will have heard ever before! Probably Symphonic Rhythm’n’Noise should be the style name for the sound of R. Challenger aka The PCP Principle on – ‘Rhythmus Ex Heretica’. An astonishing and fresh mixture of absolute club orientated rhythm’n’noise beats and soundscore. Electronic sounds meet symphonic strings and powerful kicking electro industrial beats to create 11 club smashers, full of deep emotion. More aggressive and complex than the debut album ‘Electronic Violence Phenomena’, yet emotionally impacting and awe inspiring at the same time; the focus of the album being philosophy and the failings of human belief systems.
