Centhron was created in Winter 2001. It started with an electronic intimacy between Elmar Schmidt (Voice + Synth + Programming) and Jörg Herrmann (Progamming) which resulted into the first Demo “Melek Taus” in 2002, as Centhron did not want to arrive without a recording medium being the support act on a feindflug concert. As this demo became rather successful Centhron decided to record a complete album to give it a try in the market. The album „Lichtsucher“ (2003) exeeded all expectations! DAC Dj Bullet Nr.1, fairly represented in the DUC Charts, Zillo Sampler and several requests and congratulations from all over Europe. And all this even without a label! Gigs in Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium and Italien have been rocked together with Suicide Commando, SITD, Kiew, Xotox, Agonoize, Reaper, Psyclon Nine, Grendel, Soman and many more. Every time the live perfomance has been improved which resulted in positive feedbacks up to waves of exitement. The live members Melly Thies (Female Voice), Stefan Thies (Bass) and Anette Schmidt (Live Synth) have been part of this “Centhron family” from the very start next to leader Elmar Schmidt and sound engineer Jörg Herrmann. Encouraged as this Centhron started to create the second album „Gottwerk“ (2006), a first-class electro-firework. This time supported by the label “Final Dusk”. As well as “Lichtsucher” this album was rather successful, this time even up to the USA.

Unfortunately there has not been a distributor, but the request from several DJ´s have been frequently. As a result Centhron has sent the disks to USA on it´s own initiative. After three years of waiting the album “Roter Stern” was published with Scanner (Dark Dimensions). Mixed by Jan L. (Noisuf X), Cover Art as always by Claudi Corsten, yet another “Gottwerk” slamed the speakers! After the tour with Agonoize, the Centhron fanbase grown bigger and bigger. Centhron mastermind Elmar Schmidt worked hardly in his studio and created in a new megalomania the most danceble Centhron album ever. DOMINATOR! In spring 2011 the new album will be released, with the new live bassist Markus Vogler.

Fat sound (again mixed by Jan L.) and an aggressiveness that even in the harshelectroscene searches for a double are included in the new album. So be sure: The dancefloors will burn! Released on Scanner and available April 8th, 2011.

“GRAUSAME TÖCHTER” was founded in 2009 by Aranea Peel. With this project Aranea is realizing all her private obsessions in an artistic way. Her childhood at the national Stuttgart ballet-academy, her youth at the Magdeburg regional theatre, her passion for chansons of the 20s and her exuberant pronounced lesbian and sadomasochistic penchants combine her to an orgiastic and fulminant performance at live concerts, the recording studio and in movies. “Grausame Töchter” is individual and inimitable and captivates with its unique mixture of EBM, Industrial, Noize, Punk and classical elements, always highly emotional and cold at the same time. “Grausame Töchter” is a vicious cross-border trip into the abyss of your soul, into your dark desire and lust; a trip that abandons all taboos and conventions.

Aranea Peel: “I hate pop music, I hate everything that isn’t authentic! Not authentic means: Not artisitc! But artistic means: Emotion, ecstasy, sex and consequence!”

Since the very beginning Aranea Peel produced at the Le Chatelet in Hamburg with her favourite mixer Gregor Hennig, who brought harshness into the sound like no other and who is also on stage as one of the three drummers; this is only one reason that makes “Grausame Töchter” live to an experience for both eyes and ears.

After releasing in 2009 the debutalbum “X-tinction” as project “Chainreactor” by Jens M, it quickly became clear that here are no compromises made – hard, dark and impellent – attributes you have to use. Therefore the road to success on the dark dancefloors was paved. First liveshows followed in 2010, inter alia on the renowned “Dark Dance Treffen” in Lahr. Finally on 1st of April 2011 the long-awaited second album “Insomniac” will be published, including 12 brandnew tracks and 4 exclusive remixes from such famous acts like Xotox or [X]-rX – Restless music for restless minds! The one and only Luke Vibert returns to the fray under his most celebrated and wondrous moniker, Wagon Christ (to clarify, he is not under a wagon. Nor on one. Nor is he, strictly speaking, Christ, though we can’t rule out his messianic status). The king of stoned exotica, ridiculous vocal samples, toothsome puns, swinging rhythm and the psychedelic groove, Vibert has never been one to take himself too seriously, but his music continues to delight. Released on Ninja Tune and available March 29th, 2011.

The narrative of the past decade of electronic music would not be complete without a chapter on Ladytron — although the Liverpool-born quartet’s global fanbase would argue that the band wrote the book on it. Consistently placing songcraft and innovation over any confining aesthetic, the foursome of Daniel Hunt, Reuben Wu, Helen Marnie and Mira Aroyo fashioned four albums of deliriously buzzing, whip-smart electro-pop that have kept them ahead of the curve, apart from the fads and in a league of their own. Those albums, surveyed on the career-spanning “Best of Ladytron: 2000- 2010,” reflect the quartet’s deftly executed (and delightfully subversive) dualities: primordial grooves vs. lushly layered synths; sanguine melodies vs. shimmering atmospherics; and art-house detachment vs. the poignant narratives delivered by dueling sirens Marnie and Aroyo. Ladytron has created a body of work that reveals a fresh creative arc — and, as time has told, served as a reference point for a current crop of artists such as Lady Gaga, Goldfrapp, La Roux and Crystal Castles. The ‘Best Of’ album is a celebration of 10 years with all the key tracks and two brand new songs. Also, a two-disc deluxe version will include band favorites and an 80-page photo book for collectors. Released on Sony and available March 29th, 2011.

The ‘Ruhrpott’ (Ruhr-Area) is Germany’s by far biggest conglomeration of industrial estates – a tumour-like accumulation of industrial parks, smoking chimneys, noisy motorways, stinking rivers and cities such as Duisburg, Essen, Dortmund or Herne whose names have become synominous in Germany with DIRTY, UGLY, NOISY, SHATTERED areas. In short: A region THAT f***ed up, that today naïve tourists are visiting the ‘Ruhrpott’, to get a glimpse of an idea, of how East Germany must have looked like before the reunification…. People ‘living’ in the Ruhr are the real nucleus of the German ‘working class’, doing the most dirty jobs in companies such as Krupp, Hoesch or Degussa or underground in the many coal mines of the area… With ‘Arbeit, Sport & Spiel’ (Work, Sports and Games) PRAGER HANDGRIFF deliver a ‘tribute’ to this tough region in Germany – a unique sort of ‘Ruhrpott’-Folk in the usual, well known EBM-style of this respected German act. ‘Arbeit, Sport & Spiel’ is PRAGER HANDGRIFF’s first all new album since 2002’s ‘1000 Feuer’ and follows 21 years after their first tape release of 1990! Released on electric tremor dessau and available April 8th, 2011.

Originally released as a limited digipak CD on Cold Meat Industry in August 2002, ‘Misere’ is a real masterpiece of neo-classical music! Brought up in the degenerated town of Eskilstuna in Sweden, Markus Pesonen’s Finnish roots here are ridiculously obvious. Society freak-out and bitterness – hate, humour and disintegration really have established themselves as Finnish essentials. Believe it or not, musically this stuck-up monster promptly jerks itself down in between In Slaughter Natives and Sophia. Well, this may not be too strange as Peter Pettersson is the producer of this cacophony, and also involved in the songstructures. More uptempo than Sophia and less infernal than ISN, the screeching choirs and the Karjala-connected heartbeat drums pushes the listener in sharing authentic despair and frustration. Classical musicsamples here are surprisingly upfront, teasing your taste buds. Grandeur, abandon all ye hopes, for here lies a history revealed. Released on Eternal Soul and available April 8th, 2011.

“The world is my dream at daybreak. Guarded by angels, conceived by devils” is the magical formula opening ART ABSCONs’ conceptual album. The album leads through delirious dreamscapes ranging from catchy pop tunes to ethereal soundscapes, f rom medieval ditties to industrial sound collages, from childish melodies to psychedelic walls of sound, always crowned by Abscon’s haunting, poetical voice. The whole is spiced up with noteworthy vocal and instrumental contributions from distinguished collaborators such as members of Luftwaffe, Sinweldi and Gnomonclast. Art Abscon is a mysterious individual lurking in the twilight of his mask. Not much is known of him, except that he sometimes refers to himself as “Grandmaster Abscon” or even “The Hidden God”, who, it seems, is worshipped by the so-called “Ordre Secret d’Abscon”. From his poetical work one may derive that he is deeply indebted to Early German Romanticism and the Symbolist Movement, but his music – which is an inspiring and innovative melange of traditional neofolk, darkfolk and classic industrial – catapults the splendour of his poetry into realms unknown. There is undeniably a certain sensuousness in his voice that some might even describe as sex appeal, but he can turn into a hissing demon from one moment to the next. Released on Hau Ruck and available May 22nd, 2011.

Lie down on the soft summer grass, deep in the woods just before twilight, and perhaps you will be lucky enough to encounter some good-natured tiny beings of pleasing appearance. Under their spell you may want to fall asleep, but you may also want to… dance! Being one of the very few representatives of what might be labelled as feminine ambient music, Artefactum remains the embodiment of unique characteristics: deep and warm ambient intertwined with sounds of nature, ritual bells, remote drumming and sensual vocals. In the case of Artefactum you simply can’t mistake the music for any other artist’s work. Merissa d’Erlette’s new opus “Foxgloves & Bluebells” has at last taken its final shape after five long years since the release of “Rosarium Hermeticum” – her last full-length album. The music is richer and more varied than anything else she has ever made – while still within the borders of ambient, the release contains at the same time a collection of beautiful songs inspired by old poetry and mysterious folklore. With wonderful guest appearances from neo-medieval THE SOIL BLEEDS BLACK, British folk singer ANDREW KING (Duo Noir/Sol Invictus) and neo- classical DAWN & DUSK ENTWINED, “Foxgloves & Bluebells” is a must-have release for anyone into esoteric post-industrial music. Released in collaboration by Old Europa Cafe and Ur Muzik as a 6 panel digipaK in STRICTLY 300 copies ONLY! Available April 8th, 2011.

***** new from ARTOFFACT RECORDS!

After 2008’s zany “Meanwhile, Back in the Jungle”, Massiv in Mensch pull no punches on their sixth studio album, the aptly titled “Niemand weiss, was die Zukunft bringt” (Nobody Knows What the Future Will Bring). The album opens with an intro featuring the unmistakable voice of German actor Reiner Schoene (notable as the German voice-over voice of Darth Vader, as well as roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation, Babylon 5, and more). Schoene went into the recording studio especially for this release, so its a real treat for cult movie buffs. Also making an appearance is, adding a synthpop vibe and subtle harmonies to Massiv in Mensch’s killer sound. The album features a cover of the cult techno hit Die Kybernauten (recently back in the spotlight on a re-issue on German label Infacted) as well as a guest appearance from Kontrast vocalist Nebelgeist. Massiv in Mensch deliver 14 tracks of techno-inspired dance music without ever missing a beat! Released on Artoffact and available December 7th, 2010.
