This week: Hello! This week’s feature is a two-play from two bands that I’m sure you all know and love: FADERHEAD and APOPTYGMA BERZERK. The new Faderhead album is going to smoke, period. Titled Black Friday, it’s one of those albums that cements a band’s reputation as one of the best in the biz. Apop needs no introduction of course, and this new album (best name ever: Imagine there was no Lennon) comes with both CD and DVD in a slick digibook. Watch out though: it’s limited and won’t stick around forever. Pet Shop Boys’ Christmas EP is finally available in Canada. New Angels On Acid CD shipping soon including remixes from Psyborg Corp, Wynardtage and Carphax Files!! We are happy to announce several previously out-of-print Twilight Records releases now available: The Soil Bleeds Black, Kirlian Camera, and The Frozen Autumn all back in print!! Classic darkwave act Deine Lakaien is back with a 2CD limited edition studio album. Phallus Uber Alles drops a limited edition 5CD boxset. Electroclash/Third Wave Le Syndicat Electronique deliver a two-CD retrospective compilation. Enjoy the music!!

Less than one year after releasing the acclaimed Horizon Born EP and the ‘Trilogy’ compendium, German electromeister Faderhead is back with his most ambitious project to date: “Black Friday”. The 16-song conceptual album tells the story of a Friday night gone wrong, from the end of the working day, to the fun in the clubs to the inevitable crash and all the chaos in between. With “Black Friday”, Faderhead continues pumping out the guaranteed awesomeness that his legion of fans have come to expect, upping the ante again with his infectious melodies, emotional lyrics, and the powerful trademark Faderhead beats that have been destroying club floors since FH1 worldwide. Like any good party Faderhead brought along some friends for the ride, including guest vocalists Chris Pohl (Blutengel/Terminal Choice), Ted Phelps (Imperative Reaction) and fellow L-Tracks artist Shaolyn (Face Down). Faderhead also went all out and shot a 15-minute short movie (incl. a cameo appearance by Steve Naghavi/ And One) that visualizes the story and incorporates the tracks from the new album. “Black Friday” represents the beginning of a new era of Faderhead, both artistically and musically, so gear up, drink some vodka, and get ready for the ride. Released on L-Tracks and available October 8th, 2010.

It’s not only about strobe lights and dry ice, and, in the end, certainly not about girls and drugs; for these 4 erstwhile schoolmates from the small town of Fredrikstad in Norway, it’s about nothing less than changing the world with 4 minutes of magic in every song they pull from their hearts. In 2009, Apoptygma Berzerk left home to tour their latest album – Rocket Science – around the world for more than 9 months. It was their biggest, most extensive, most exhausting tour to date; they were met by ecstatic audiences, die-hard fans in every country, they found people to love and people to learn from, there was laughter and tears and in the end there was tension caused by different lives finally taking different turns. Shortly after this show, Stephan Groth, Geir Bratland, Angel and Fredrik Brarud agreed that they would not be returning to the stage together. In this constellation, they would no longer perform the songs that made them the people they are, the people they have grown into since they were kids. Accept this DVD/CD with joy, a document that celebrates 4 passionate men having a ball, entering some people’s hearts and minds by doing what they love to do. It has been a remarkable journey, so thanks to all of the Apop fans around the world and thanks to everyone who attended the Rocket Science tour. Four musicians who would like to say thank you to their families, their wives and kids for putting up with them and with everything that a road trip entails. Apoptygma Berzerk can look back on a career reaching back to the early nineties of the past century. Six studio albums, as well as now three live albums and four collections of singles, remixes and cover versions are documents of the musical development of the band fronted by singer Stephan Groth. Besides the obligatory über hit „Shine On“ the DVD/CD also contains “Eclipse“ and „Starsign“, both classics in the electronic music scene, as well as the most important tracks from the recent album „Rocket Science“ and – not to forget – „Kathy’s Song“, originally released in 2000 and using “Kathy”, the Vocoder voice of the early Apple Mac, for the vocals in the chorus, resulting in a personal thank you from Apple icon Steve Jobs to Apop mastermind Stephan Groth. Released on 2006 Rec and available October 22nd, 2010.

Long out-of-print, Twilight Records join forces to once again make available THE SOIL BLEEDS BLACK ‘s fourth album, “Alchemie,” originally published by the (now defunct) UK distributor, World Serpent. This new edition features re-mastered and newly embellished versions of the original songs along with several bonus tracks. “Alchemie” is a conglomeration of songs based heavily upon the medieval occult science for which the album is named. The album also features other songs portraying Arthurian legend and the bravery of knights on the battlefield. The well-known Swedish ambient artist, ARCANA, make a very special guest appearance on the track, “Lapis Philosophorum.” This new edition comes presented in a fancy digipak!

After the highly deserved success of their current album ‘Invisible Front .2005’, is a big honour to our record label to re release this beautiful and cult album from one of the most important and popular electro bands in the gothic scene. This is the re-release of – in my opinion – one of their most legendary and best albums. Originally on Discordia in 1996, it comes with 3 exclusive bonus-Tracks! ‘Pictures…’ followed the very ‘difficult’ conceptual album ‘Solaris’, and marked the return of KIRLIAN CAMERA to their earlier, darker, romantic and melodic days. It’s a definite RETRO album and includes some of the most beautiful tracks, Angelo Bergamini has written in 20 years! The opening track ‘Ascension’ has become a CLASSIC, but also the highly infective single ‘Your Face in the Sun’, the original version of ‘I am the Light’, the remake of a very early KC-track from 1981 (Meine Nächte sind heiser zerschrien’) and the amazing Kraftwerk-inspired track ‘Haalh’ are real jewels of Angelo’s discography – as well as the orchestral ‘Wasted Bridges’ or the neo-folkish ‘The End of Days’. Kirlian Camera today are without a doubt one of the most important acts in the electro scene and this work marked without a doubt one of the peak moments of their career and is regarded as their most ‘accessible’, and most ‘darkwave’ kind of album. This new version comes with new and full colour booklet and runs more than 72 minutes now – in fact it not only contains 3 bonus tracks, but also the ‘Kuolema’ remix of ‘Ascension’ from the original edition has been replaced by a much better sounding version! Released on Twilight.

After a silence of 3 long years – THE FROZEN AUTUMN one of the true masters of Dark wave electro triumphantly returns with Brand New Album “Is anybody there?” – a compendium of conceptual songs of pure electro dark wave, sublimely melodic symphonies and dance floor electronics songs. Carrying a deeper message and meaning in his work through his very personal intense music and the often emotional, sometimes dimension of his lyrics. Sweet ballads with the beautiful voices of Diego and Arianna, combined in poerfect armony with dancefloor songs. Is Anybody there? is the key to come inside to a magic world of melodies and beauty. The album include two remixes bonus tracks from a very important acts:by Clan of Xymox and The Dust of Basement. released on Twilight.

First limited edition double-CD in digipak, including an EXCLUSIVE 9-tracks Bonus-CD, featuring 7 audio-tracksand two different Videos for the single ‘Gone’ (The single is NOT available outside Germany – sorry!).”Older, wiser, but still we are these fighters” – one line from Deine Lakaien’s song “Along our Road” puts themessage of their new album in a nutshell. One might equally say: farewell legends – welcome to reality. For,after a voyage of over twenty years’ duration, Deine Lakaien are ready to ditch old ballast and every last clichéand present the most exciting album of their entire career.Few bands have so polarised opinion over the last two and a half decades as this duo, singer Alexander Veljanovand keyboard player Ernst Horn: it’s always been a straight case of love or hate. Yet only a few notes of theopener suffice to recognise that past judgements – good or bad – no longer hold true. Tired categorizations are athing of the past for this band. Having laid aside their masks and stepped out from the shadow of their history, thetwo dedicated performers are centred more clearly than ever in their own selves – which is an open invitation tolisteners from across the board to step into their world. It’s exactly five years since Veljanov and Horn released their last studio album “April Skies” but they haven’t justbeen twiddling their thumbs in the meantime. They celebrated their twentieth anniversary with an opulent orchestratour and continue to pursue their long-standing tradition of acoustic tours: opportunities enough for a little soul-searching.”Indicator” doesn’t simply rehash tried and tested formulas. It heralds a whole new era. Anyone who’s alwaysappreciated Deine Lakaien will find on this album a fine range of what the duo has always done well. Both musicianshave, after all, crammed tons of experience into their tour luggage. One aspect is even more important than theirreturn to electronic sounds: Deine Lakaien now works to create intimacy with its listeners. They have courage enoughnow for poetic simplicity of a kind they rarely attempted before. Their songs may still be highly emotional but divestedof any touch of pathos they sound refreshingly carefree and light. In addition to political and social commentaries the album also presents a few wonderful ballads and love songs. Yet,like life itself, Deine Lakaien places the heady heights of emotion in the context of global developments. After 25 yearsthey no longer want to wax lyrical about the theme of all themes, like some dashing Romantics in the first boisterousthroes of puberty. In terms both of content and music, “Indicator” is a multifaceted, intense album that embraces the world’s diversity, dreams and hopes yet also relentlessly faces up to reality. The title “Indicator” must be understood also in that light.Deine Lakaien consciously chose a no-nonsense motto, not only for the listeners’ sake but also for their own, and as a signpost on their new path. Because they’re older, wiser, but still these old fighters. Released on Chrom Records and available September 17th, 2010.

D-TRASH Records is pleased to announce the release of “Five Fingers Make A Fist” box set, from Detroit’s PHALLUS ÜBER ALLES. Longtime advocates of feminism-fuelled digital hardcore punk sounds, the group began their struggle, in order to question “not only the cultural perception that women are somehow less capable than men, but also turns a critical eye toward the female behavior that propagates that mis-conception.” They released their furious debut “Iron Woman” on ATARI TEENAGE RIOT’s Hanin Elias’ pet-label FATAL RECORDINGS, later joining up with D-TRASH to release an EP of remixes of this material as well as new tracks. The band at once became a vital part of the D-TRASH roster, performing at every D-TRASH Records Fest concerts (2006, 2008, 2010) as well as providing unbelievable remixes for HANSEL, THE PHOERON and other label projects. Last year in 2009, PÜA started releasing a series of online EPs containing more new material and remixes, a 5 part series entitled “Five Fingers Make A Fist”. These albums contained more revisitations of “Iron Woman” material, their cover from D-TRASH’s 2007 ATARI TEENAGE RIOT tribute, as well as a new song from upcoming release “Le Femme Terrible”. To date, these EPs have netted over 10,000(!) downloads from the site. Now in 2010, PÜA and D-TRASH have taken all 5 of these scorching discs, and has packaged them in a LIMITED EDITION metal-tin box set. Now shipping!!

Limited edition of 500 copies! Style: ‘Third Wave’/Electroclash. After the surprising success among our customers with the album ‘Future from the Past’ by THE HUMAN PUPPETS,here comes another release on ‘Disorder’, the Sublabel of Eternal Soul (best known for Triarii, but also home of BrachialPalsy, Axon Neuron, Phelios and others). Alexandre Gand, also known as A\\ is the founder of the European ‘Third Wave’-movement. He is also the owner of the independent label Invasion Planete Records.  This double-album offers a selection of the finest LSE from the powerfull first 12inch “Defending Man” to the ratherexperimental LP “Lebenspo*nografie O.S.T.” in 2005 – Both rare and highly sought after! LSE might sound harsh and unpolished after the first listen, but give it a second chance and then you’ll realize that thisguy is an absolute genius! A\\ has definitly set the tone for the Electro/New Wave-revival. The influence is apparent in somany’s music right now! LSE and great sideprojects such as ‘Po*n.Darsteller’, ‘Raison Future’ or ‘It & My Compute’r arethe forerunners of this whole genre, without a doubt. Therefore this compilation won’t disappoint any electro fan. We don’t want to throw around labels like “Electroclash” or “Nu-Electro”. Scenes come and go, but Le Syndicat Electronique willnot be forgotten! Released on Eternal Soul and available September 17th, 2010.

“DAMN this is good. WOW.” – Dependent Forum user reaction. Join the discusssion:

Dead When I Found Her is the studio project of Portland, Oregon’s Michael Arthur Holloway, a professional electronic musician and producer who sites Skinny Puppy, Haujobb, Mentallo & the Fixer, Forma Tadre, Doubting Thomas, amongst other pioneering industrial aritsts as influences. Tracks from the debut album Harm’s Way have been the talk of music forums since they started to appear on Myspace and Soundcloud in 2009, and the attention the project has received is nothing short of impressive. The project soon found a home on Artoffact Records, and 12 tracks were selected for the debut release. Dead When I Found Her re-creates classic late-80’s/early-90’s industrial without sounding cliched, adding a modernized sonic signature to a dark and brooding foundation. Harm’s Way is the perfect album for dark music lovers. Out July 13th, 2010!
