To coincide with a UK Tour in November and December, Red Snapper will release a new single on Lo Recordings on the 12th of November 2021.

‘The Warp and the Weft’, recorded at their Sea Bass studios and mixed with award winning engineer Shuta Shinoda (Ghost Poet, Hot Chip, Alexis Taylor) at Hackney Road Studios in London, is the third of three Red Snapper tracks to be shared in the run up to the release of an eagerly awaited new album ‘Everybody is Somebody’ which is due in early 2022. Featuring the sublime vocals of Natty Wylah, and with a doff of the cap to the band’s love of hip hop, the new single feels tonally like a fresh departure and points to a forthcoming long player that will be full of new scopes and approaches. Red Snapper have always been a band known for their ever-evolving sound.

‘The Warp and the Weft’ weaves the honed Snapper partnership of double bass and electronic beats, overlayed with a dreamy keys-scape and warm, broad blasts of trombone. Atmospherically the tune plays like a mariner's account of yearning for a sunnier fate while aboard a schooner drifting down a misty Thames; being lost in a broad stretch of water yet somehow never far from an urban home.

The original rhythm section of Ali Friend (bass) and Rich Thair (drums) are to the fore with Natty Wylah’s reassuring spoken word/rap directing the emotional push and pull. Newcomers Abe Friend and James Wade-Sired guest on keys and trombone respectively.

Red Snapper’s first full UK tour for two decades begins in Huddersfield on the 23rd of November and culminates with a London show at the Jazz Café in Camden Town on Saturday the 4th of December 2021.
