LULL & BETA CLOUD & ANDREW LILES | Circadian Rhythm Disturbance Reconfigured CD (CSR139CD) £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50

Shipping: Now
From England to the United States and back again… it all started as a simple drone project between LULL (aka Mick Harris of Scorn, ex-Napalm Death) and BETA CLOUD (aka Carl Pace), based on the concept of how insomnia can effect your thought patterns. Billows of powerful bass drones set to indistinct flourishes of temporary insanity. The original track is there, but also included is a fierce remix track by legendary sound artist Andrew Liles (NURSE WITH WOUND). Fans of Lull and Beta Cloud will really sink their teeth into this one; what Liles has created here is not a simple remix but a raging, deconstruction as only he can do. Originally released as a limited 3″ CD in 2008, now proudly presented in a deluxe digipak edition with stunning new artwork. A captivating listen for dark ambient and harsh noise fans alike.

KREUZWEG OST | Gott Mit Uns CD (CSR41CD) £10 / £11 / £12

Shipping: Now
2nd monumental album from Kreuzweg Ost for Cold Spring, headed by Michael Gregor (SUMMONING / AMESTIGON). “We see a light through the dim and cloudy shadows of our existence. In the electric field between. Total faith and desperation, hope and doubt, eternal bliss and delusion, we walk an unsure path to an unknown end. When the clouds open, the light navigates. The loud music of the sky: pounding drums surrounded by trumpets and swirling voices echoing from a distance unknown”. Kreuzweg Ost rises again with God on their side. “Gott Mit Uns” combines a variety of different musical styles: from Martial Industrial to Classical sounds, from deep Ambient to cinematic anthems. These musical prayers are made for those seeking salvation.

HELDENTOD | The Ghost MachineCD (CSR131CD) £10 / £11 / £12

Shipping: Now
Heldentod began in 2005 as an outlet for research into the little-known corners of 20th-Century history. While previous recordings whiplashed between the traditional and the experimental, Heldentod’s latest album leaves behind its neofolk and martial-industrial roots to focus solely on electronics, but maintains the fundamental sense of composition found in earlier incarnations. Although now primarily influenced by death industrial and power electronics, Heldentod looks to create the most suitable expression of its key themes, including ghosts, ancestor worship, human sacrifice, neolithic fertility rights, Iron Age religion, mediæval literature, unseen dimensions, inhuman intelligences, and all manner of Forteana.

ANDREA NEBEL – ‘The Dark Side Of Dreaming’ CD (Eternal Pride Productions /
Infinite Fog Productions
) – £15 / £16 / £17
Dark Ambient / Darkwave project from Andréa Nebel (aka Andréa Haugen of Aghast and Nebelhexe). “The tracks consist of a few of the poems and stories taken from my book ‘The Dark Side of Dreaming’, which is a book of very personal poems and surreal stories, and also poems and stories inspired by decadence. The inspiration comes from my own experiences, childhood fears and sadnesses, my own sensual experiences, night-time thoughts of loneliness etc. A lot of my creative works are inspired by my dreams, thus the title ’The Dark Side of Dreaming’. I generally am very inspired by dark art and surreal visions because this is what i know, it has always been with me. So to me the dark is something very familiar. Like many other artists and writers, I use art as therapy, to heal and comfort own wounds. I like to think that my art connects to other deep thinking individuals who feel the same.” Ltd x 300 copies in an A5 digipak with booklet. Russian import. ACT FAST!

EZDANITOFF – ‘We Bring The Light’ CD (Silentes) – £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50
Extreme and uncompromising electronic stimulations, vibrations and synthetic pulsations floating off, disturbing buzzes and algorithmic waves in expansion, fragmented and deconstructed synthetic chaos. But there are also hints of hypnotic unfinished musical sketches, clips of embryonic melodic sequences, fragments of human voices, oscillating electronic pads, distorsions, improbable synthetic clones of nature sounds and noises. An intransigent work of disturbing and destabilizing electronica by Wouter Jaspers and Frans de Waard, especially recommended to listeners from other worlds.
FARYUS & VADIM BONDARENKO – ‘Quiet Songs From Misty Places’ Enhanced CD
(Silentes) – £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50
Frail and delicate ambient atmospheres, clusters of rarefied piano notes lying on discreet drones, soft and evanescent clarinet riffs, suggesting and catching natural sounds. Light and ethereal pastel-coloured musical plots over eight tracks. One hour of suspended and quiet sonic passages, flowing like a discreet background, or to listen/see in a passionate mood, dreaming in silence, lying in gloom. Wonderful ambient stuff from these two Russian artists in the same vein of some of Harold Budd’s works. Faryus in the past has also crafted an album in collaboration with Robert Rich. Comes with a bonus video track ‘Dancing In MIsty Places’, directed by Alexander Sveshnikov.
FJERNLYS – ‘Within The Mind Of Ghost’ CD (Loki Foundation) – £11 / £12 / £13
Fjernlys is Knut Enderlein (Inade). ‘Within the Mind of Ghost’ is the second manifestation of Fjernlys, bringing warm, atmospheric and sensitive Ambient songs with accented percussion elements, vibraphone sounds and brilliant viola supplements to set the electronic soundscapes into wonderfully concentrated and organic pieces. After the massive earthing from the moon, Fjernlys leads you to points of light illuminated by gilded signs and the frozen sun is shivering in the inner journeys to places where the mystic dress of stars is surrounding the night. Clear homogeneous sounds creeping deep organic rhythms with lovely effects have been incorporated in a poetic ambiance guided by brilliant vocals. This outstanding melancholic and elegiac recordings follow the first album with even an more acoustic input like the reverberating guitar sound and the stringed bowed instruments too and give an idea of things to come. Originally released on Loki Foundation’s vinyl only sub-label Skogholt in 2007 (Ltd x 189 copies).

GIANLUCA BECUZZI – ‘Nothing Is What It Seems’ CD (Silentes) – £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50

More structured compositions placed side by side with more abstract numbers, built with a wide range of sounds, extremely variated both in timbre and origin. Elaborated electronic treatments applied to sounds and noises of a concrete nature, field-recordings, drones, electronic hisses, shaken metal, crackling, human and animal guttural cries, synthetic pads, ethereal and undecipherable voices, mechanical loops, noises from the everyday life. An incredibile and unpredictable sound universe without borders and without time…

HERBST9 – ‘Usumgal Kalamma’ 2 x CD Boxset (Loki Foundation) – £15 / £16.50 / £18
The final chapter and climax of Herbst9. ‘Usumgal Kalamma’ is a huge and rich soundwork, divided into two parts that transport the listener into the realms of the archaic world. It is an invitation to explore a mythic age in history whereby the inventions of these people are still connected with us today. Intense ritualistic and percussive drumming melt with deep atmospheric drones, invocations, otherwordly tones and various acoustic instruments such as gongs, bells and zither. This sonic prayer is Herbst9’s trademark of a ritual infused dark ambient style and an essential document that combines historical background with sound art. SPANXTI – ‘Dheghom’ CD (Autarkeia) – £11 / £12 / £13
Debut album from Lithuanian post-Industrial / ritual project Spanxti. The album is full of maturity and has an elaborate structure, dedicated to recall the atmosphere and gravity of ancient rituals. Every track represents a separate ritual which is extremely authentic in the way it simulates rituals performed by ancestors in the past. It strove to restore the authenticity of rituals by using the original scripts of ritual / mythological content, created in ancient Indo-European languages. All scripts are authentic, written down hundreds or thousands of years ago, and clearly represent the outlook of the ancient world. The title of the album is the reconstructed word of the Proto-Indo-European, which means “the earth”. The whole album is an integral ritual, consisting of a few smaller ones, and a certain attempt to experience the archaic spirit in authentic way. Ltd x 200 copies in a jewelcase with die-cut slip.

YELLOW SWANS / OAKEATER – ‘Split’ LP (Black Horizons / Oakeater) – £14 / £17.50 / £21
A rather appropriate unearthing takes place on this record, as Yellow Swans are posthumously paired up with Chicago’s Oakeater. First up is Yellow Swans, with a single side-long track that should please fans of their later, brighter more psychedelic sound as well as those of the more rigid, structured and even melodic sound found on their final LP. Masterfully mixing huge guitars, shards of mixer feedback and discreet loops. Oakeater on the flip side performs the funerary rights with three tracks that fall somewhere between a satanic ritual and a cosmic synth trip, with meditative vocals, throbbing synthesizers, and distant piano lines. Comes packaged in a custom offset silver ink on black linen paper. Black vinyl with silver on black center labels in an edition of 500 copies.

This year’s frozen winter brought cold into the womb of this new Slovak Dark Ambient project – a horrifying, deeper and darker form of Slovak terror! This mystical project, in which the protagonist combines beautiful moods with destruction, combines deathly atmosphierics with deep space textures, covered in a veil of mystery. ANDREA MARUTTI – ‘The Subliminal Relation Between Planets – Live In
Archiaro’ CD (Nextera) – £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50

All music performed and recorded live by Andrea Marutti in Archiaro (Catanzaro, Italy) on August the 24th, 2007. “[Marutti] operates in the area that we could loosely identify as drone music, or ambient, but… this is of a much darker nature altogether. It’s hard to tell what it is that he does; be it synthesizers, samplers, computer processing or just tons of sound effects, in the end the effect is a seventy-minute opus of dark, utter dark electronic music. The planets mentioned in the title may give away some of some of the darkness, and perhaps its all too easy to say that its pitch black as the stars by night, but on christmas eve, with stars bright and almost full moon, these sort of references may count. Think Lustmord meeting Mirror, the darkest fantasy of Klaus Schulze or such cosmic hero from yesteryear, and Andrea Marutti is your man” (Vital Weekly).

KOUFAR – ‘The Purity Of The Cedars’ CD (Topheth Prophet) – £10 / £11 / £12

Topheth Prophet presents the latest album from Maronite Resistance unit KOUFAR. 7 tracks of Power Electronics deliver an aural assault on the current Lebanese state, unleashed with genuine brute anger. Middle East politics was never so harsh! Comes in an outsized glossy gatefold card sleeve containing some disturbing imagery. Don’t buy if you’re easily offended. Seriously. Don’t. Israeli import.

LIETTERSCHPICH – ‘I Cum Blood In The Think Tank’ CD (Topheth Prophet /
HCB Records) – £10 / £11 / £12

The debut album of this Israeli noise ensemble. The eight-piece group of Lietterschpich (Hebrew for litre of cum) has been boiling down foul language, obscene noise, primitive rituals and perplexing visual propaganda since 2004. Comprised of local veterans of the Israeli post-punk, industrial and electronica scenes, they quickly gained cult status in the Israeli underground. “This bleak digital-doom-dub shriek is bound to slap the hard-core fans of innovative harsh music. It doesn’t get more extreme than this!” Roughly an hour of Doom Noise terror. Ltd x 1000 copies. Israeli import.

– £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50

“Inner Path – the idea of combining pure hand-played acoustic instruments with modern electronics, samples and nature sounds. With a spiritual sight behind, Inner Path is open for free direction and interpretation nevertheless, with a strong focus inside ourselves by considering the existence here on earth as ONE of many journeys back into the inner light. This work is a remembrance…“

RAMLEH – ‘Valediction’ CD (Second Layer Records) – £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50

“Valediction” is the first all new Ramleh album since 1997, and the first new Power Electronics recordings from the project for 25 years. And yet “Valediction” is no ordinary power electronics record, nor is it anything as straightforward as simply a return to their roots. “Valediction” is very much an entity of its own – both consolidating and expanding upon everything Ramleh have touched on in the past, but also digging into entirely fresh ground for the band. “Valediction” is, perhaps, Ramleh’s most bleakly psychedelic creation so far. Ltd x 1000 copies in a gatefold sleeve with 8 page booklet containing photos and cut-up lyrics from some of the tracks.

THE HAFLER TRIO – ‘No More Twain, Of Flesh: 11 Unequivocal Obsecrations’
CD (Nextera) – £12 / £13.50 / £15

Third part of the trilogy – the first being “Cleave: 9 Great Openings” (Nextera, 2003) and the second being “No Man Put Asunder: 7 Fruitful And Seamless Unions” (Die Stadt, 2003). Again, this is a 60+ minutes long piece which slowly changes, with a very wide and resonant sound, but for sure is the most surprising and experimental work of all three parts! Ltd x 1022 copies in an absolutely unique, super deluxe, luxury packaging! Embossed gatefold Paper-Wallet with special Transparent Wraparound and silver print.

VAZHES – ‘Deep Komis’ CD (Nadeln Prod.) – £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50

New album by this project of anthropologist and documentary director Sergey Gabbasov, dedicated to authentic Ethnic music of the Permian Komis. “Deep Komis” dips into the hidden world of ancient and primordial nature, of secret and mysterious rituals.
