ANNI HOGAN | Mountain CD / DVD DualDisc (CSR132CD) £16 / £17 / £18
Shipping: Now
An artistic collaboration between musicians Anni Hogan, Robert Strachan and Itchy Ear, film maker Bob Wass and mountaineer Cathy O’Dowd. Hogan and Itchy Ear originally worked on a series of piano pieces inspired by Rene Daumal’s ‘Mount Analogue’ and the superior wisdom of mountains, using O’Dowds Himalayan conquests for particular authentic inspiration. Robert and Anni used these pieces and the Himalayan peaks as a template for painting a soundwave soundscape around the piano compositions. O’Dowd performed a fascinating monologue over the piece ‘Deathzone’. The ‘Mountain’ film was created by Bob Wass from Cathy’s original film footage of her Everest expeditions.

SKULLFLOWER | Fucked On A Pile Of Corpses CD (CSR151CD) £10 / £11 / £12
Shipping: Now
The most remorseless, brutal Skullflower ever! Alternating between granular lo-fi primitive rock and granular lo-fi primitive Power Electronics, this taut disc is a chain mail glove of hate to any lazy minds who’ve tainted the air with describing Skullflower as ‘psychedelic’. But that’s not to say this is an all out total assault. There are also moments of tender acoustic balladry, its just that they don’t exist. The remorseless brutal sound is primitive, but as detailed and rich as a blood soaked medieval canvas, somewhere betwixt The Rita and Clandestine Blaze, but more brutal!

EMME YA | Atavistic Dreams & Phallic Totems CD (CSR151CD) £10 / £11 / £12
Shipping: Now
40 minutes of dense astral emanations and magickal paradigms transmitted through the ritual mantras generated by Emme Ya.
Based on the mysterious African Dogon tribe and their secret oral tradition. In the 1930s two anthropologists gained their trust enough to be told these remarkable secrets. The Dogon seemed to possess advanced astronomical knowledge beyond their means, without any instruments, revealing hidden stars Sirius B and Sirius C, so invisible they were only discovered by scientists with advanced imaging in 1970 and 1995. The Dogon say that their information was given to their ancestors through contact with beings from the star system of Sirius, calling these beings Nommos or ‘the monitors of the universe’.

AURA NOCTIS – ‘Itineris I’ CD (Twilight Records / Gradual Hate Records) – £11 / £12 / £13
The two feminine characters animating this project, Pilar and Olga, follow a Dark Atmospheric Heavenly Voices direction originating in Arcana, Elend, Dark Sanctuary, Qntal or The Moon and The Nightsprit. The cello, piano and synth sound more atmospheric and dreamlike. The voice sounds like the breath of the forest, hanging over the music and leading the listener into dreamy landscapes. “Itineris I” is an initiatory journey through the most evocative romanticism. Aura Noctis aims to transport us to those places where the mind has never been, arousing fantasy that is latent within us. Their melodies are the hope that drives away the pain.
BAI SHUI – ‘A Travel Book (Deluxe Edition)’ CD (Midnight Productions) – £14 / £15.50 / £17
An alternative to Bai Shui’s usual work. Unlike the traditional Chinese folk he used to compose, this is instrumental World Music, dabbling in music, humanities and histories of multiple regions. Based on the western region’s vast deserts, Bai Shui emphasises those atmospheres with more experimental arrangements.  We can hear his deep understanding of World Music and the high quality creativity on the album. Ltd x 1000 copies in a deluxe hardback book cover with 20 page booklet.

BAI SHUI – ‘Host Of A Building Named Flower Terrace Temple (Deluxe Edition)’ CD
(Midnight Productions) – £14 / £15.50 / £17
Brand new album from this Chinese folk artist. From the beginning of summer to the middle of autumn, from the small things to the ego and from the ego to the world. After taking a hard tour of his thoughts, Bai Shui completed the transformation from ‘being’ to ‘renouncing’ and again to the ‘entering’. In this album you can hear Buddhist music elements. It is an album about calmness and tranquility, an album about zen. Ltd x 1000 copies in a deluxe hardback book cover with 20 page booklet and foldout poster.

BLOOD AXIS – ‘Ultimacy’ CD (Storm) – £13 / £14 / £15
“Ultimacy” collects the final versions of all the singles and compilation tracks released by Blood Axis during the two decades since the project was founded (1991-2011). Stunning versions of well known BA classics such as ‘The Hangman And The Papist’, ‘Eternal Soul’, ‘The March Of Brian Boru’, ‘Wir Rufen Deine Wölfe’. These pieces appear in a reverse chronological order, beginning with more recent work and moving back through time to the distant past. Blood Axis explore European folklore; German occultism; Norse and Perso-Roman mythology; fatalism, militarism and Nietzschean romanticism through folk rock, ritual pieces and menacing electronica. Expertly re-mastered by Blood Axis member and renowned studio engineer Robert Ferbrache, “Ultimacy” presents these rare tracks in their ideal form, exactly as the band itself has always heard and envisioned them. Guests include: Stephen Flowers (Edred Thorsson), Boyd Rice (NON), Thomas Thorn (My Life with the Thrill Kill Kill Kult / Electric Hellfire Club), and Markus Wolff (Waldteufel). Presented in a spot-varnished gatefold digisleeve with printed inner sleeve.

BRIGHTER DEATH NOW – ‘Very Little Fun’ 3 x CD (Cold Meat Industry) – £26 / £27.50 / £29
A box without tricks! No fillout material! No extras! No gloomy video-tracks! No instrumental versions! No remixes! This is BRIGHTER DEATH NOW, and it’s Very Little Fun. This material was recorded between 1998-2005, and is not just left-overs, but also the raw sound and direct result of a collapsing mental health! Yet, we cannot escape the fact that these 27 tracks are both of a fascinating and intriguing nature, but also that these utterly dark industrial cadaverous sounds will push your mood down to a risky level even for the more sane listener. Well, You have been warned! It is a dark depressive world painted with a gruesome black mind and a bleeding heart. This is what makes the sound of Roger Karmanik / Brighter Death Now so special and one-of-a-kind! Depression guaranteed! Comes housed in a deluxe 6-panel matt digipak with stunning spot-varnished, silver-foil slipcase.

CORRUPTED – ‘Garten Der Unbewusstheit’ CD (Nostalgia Blackrain) – £16 / £17 / £18
Highly anticipated new album from Japanese Doom overlords Corrupted. Their 4th album, “Garten Der Unbewusstheit” (“garden of unconsciousness”), is the final album by ‘original’ Corrupted featuring 3 tracks over 63 minutes. “But ”Garten Der Unbewusstheit” should have existed from the early hardcore-approaching days of Corrupted. This paradoxical evolution form is nothing but the result of huge studio works, mixing thousands of feedback and guitar overtones, like constructing three dimensional architecture. This album totally transcends our usual sense of time… this transcending sense can be described as the sense of liberation from material and life through music. So first of all, let’s experience this album and expose the lies of our “given life”. Vocalist Hevi and guitarist Talbot left the group after recording of this album and 17 years of activities since 1994. Jewelcase with obi strip. JAPANESE IMPORT – ACT FAST!

FORMICATION – ‘The Eyes Of Erodern Riviema’ CD & CDR (Small Doses) – £16 / £17 / £18
Formication is Alec Bowman and Kingsley Ravenscroft, the miraculous electric musical ensemble from Nottingham. They create unique rhythmic, chaotic yet structured works, twisting a variety of sounds into creeped-out electronica, frozen ambience and sporadic wayward beats. Described by The Wire magazine as ‘sonic occultists’, they can be found “wandering a dream landscape somewhere between the ritual ambience of Coil and the electronic space drift of Tangerine Dream”. “The Eyes of Erodern Riviema” is a their most realised work to date and a masterpiece start to finish. Extremely limited edition of 93 hand-numbered copies that includes an extra insert and a CDR with remixes by Hoor-paar-Kraat, Locrian, and Formication. FEW COPIES IN STOCK – ACT FAST!

HERMANN KOPP – ‘Nekronology’ CD (Red Stream) – £11 / £12 / £13
Reissue after 7 years in a lavish 6 panel digipak with new artwork featuring silver print. “Nekronology” is a compilation of mournful musical selections from director Jorg Buttgereit’s infamous films, ‘Nekromantik’, ‘Nekromantik 2’, and ‘Der Todesking’, performed by Hermann Kopp. The idea behind the music was to create a dreary atmosphere through a raw, ritualistic sound. You can hear Kopp’s signature violin groans, and moog snythesizer during scenes such as the bathtub suicide, the rabbit being skinned alive, and the necrophila sequences.
KNURL – ‘Reactance’ LP (Wintage Records & Tapes) – £13 / £16.50 / £19
After nearly two decades of creating car crash reality and damaged ear bleed sound, Canada’s king of scrap-metal harshness, Knurl, releases his first ever LP. Delivering a furnace blast of searing frequencies, Knurl utilises his trademark saw-blades, chains and metal files to full effect leaving nothing but a husk of melted electronics and a pile of smouldering wires. Knurl brings out the barb-wire violin creating scorching drones baked under a hot desert sun, eventually left to melt and congeal with tortured electronics forming in to one nasty pool of mercury and chaos. Steel on steel, metal on metal, rust on rust. White jackets with front and back screen-printing. Knurl, “Reactance”. Ltd x 300 numbered copies with insert.

LOCRIAN – ‘The Crystal World’ 2 x CD (Utech Records) – £13.50 / £14.50 / £15.50
Locrian’s third studio album, “The Crystal World”, is an epic journey. Inspired by JG Ballard’s 1964 novel of the same name that tells the story of a physician who specialises in leprosy sent to a remote African outpost to discover a jungle that is slowly crystallizing and encroaching upon everything it touches. Terence Hannum, and André Foisy are joined by Steven Hess (On, Pan American, Ural Umbo), whose contribution pushes Locrian deeper into the abyss of despair rendering a sound that is darker, bleaker, and engulfing than any of the group’s previous releases. Locrian continue the conceptual trajectory of blackened drone, manipulating tones and textures that transport the listener to an apocalyptic wasteland. At times, the layers are serene and somber, at other times they are chaotic. Ltd x 1000 copies in a Stoughton gatefold sleeve with outstanding art by Vberkvlt.

NEKRASOV – ‘The Form Of Thought From Beast’ CD (Siege Of Power) – £11 / £12 / £13
Second opus from this Australian act. Raw, creepy, enigmatic black metal-meets-noise-meets-dark ambient. “Nekrosov is most definitely a master of both the noise and the riff, and manages to fuse the two into something blackly transcendent… blown out soundscapes of samples and percussion, blurred into a windswept buzz, what sounds like ghostlike vocals underneath processed sounds of whipping winds and the click clack of a railroad, to noise drenched old school raw black metal crush, to slow burning deep ambience… Absolutely essential” (Aquarius). 2nd edition in a jewelcase with artwork similar to the 2009 LP edition.

NORTHLESS – ‘Clandestine Abuse’ CD (Siege Of Power) – £11 / £12 / £13
Four-piece Milwaukee act Northless has expanded on their original style of atmospheric sludgy metal and gone beyond the barrier that holds lesser bands back. This progression enabled Northless to break through into new territory and write truly exceptional songs, more focused, more dense. “Clandestine Abuse” features 8 tracks of misanthropic, crushing doom / sludge metal with a strong sense of melody. Northless have created something that breaks the mold of slow and heavy music. Mastered by Scott Hull for a full sonic onslaught!

All Northless Titles

NORTT – ‘Graven’ CD (Red Stream) – £11 / £12 / £13
CD reissue of Denmark-based Nortt’s epic 1999 demo. In the spirit of early atmospheric, depressive Black Funeral Doom acts like Burzum. Xasthur and Mortiis, “Graven” is a collection of depressive, horrifying tone poems rather than a simple series of songs, progressing deeper and darker into cavernous sonic wastelands. “Graven” is akin to what the sound of death would be like; Nortt is the ferryman, ever eager to offer passage.
NORTT – ‘Ligfærd’ CD (Red Stream) – £11 / £12 / £13
Throughout its duration, “Ligfaerd” relentlessly smothers the listener in layers of ghostly atmosphere, but the decidedly doom-oriented black metal component is still present. Nortt’s basic sound is made up of morose synths and piano, barely human snarls, ponderous drumming, despondent fuzzed-out guitars and other string laments – all tied in chains almost too heavy to bear. It all sounds like some barren ghost town somewhere between this world and another; the last funeral before your own has just taken place, and half-imagined church bells echo in your mind as a reminder that your miserable journey is coming to an end.
PLASTIC CRIMEWAVE SOUND – ‘Painted Shadows’ CD (A Silent Place) – £8 / £9 / £10
On “Painted Shadows”, the Chicago group scales back the guitars just a touch in favour of vaguely tribal textures as on the hypnotic lead cut “I Feel Evils.” There’s a more cosmically devoted feel than past albums, touching on elongated Kraut-like soundscapes. But the group’s trademark kitchen sink take on avant-rock – incorporating everything from Hawkwind space-rock to post-MC5 freakouts to widescreen Neu! aural landscapes – remains firmly in place. Digisleeve.
ROCK-A-ROLLA – ‘Issue #33’ Magazine – £5 / £7.50 / £10
Rock-A-Rolla 33 features San Francisco quartet Wooden Shjips. There are also interviews with Barn Owl, Caïna, Necro Deathmort, Secret Chiefs 3, The Book Of Knots, Bee Mask, Hella, Next Life, Cave In, Retox, Blueneck and Dead Elephant. This month’s Label Focus is on Spectrum Spools. Also included is the usual vast selection of news, music, DVD and live reviews from the avant-rock, metal, noise and experimental scenes. Highly recommended!

SAVAGING SPIRES – ‘Savaging Spires’ CD (Cricital Heights) – £11 / £12 / £13
This music belongs somewhere. Late summer afternoons, English pre-twilight and the old house that could do with some work. You walk along the edge of the lake and catch the scent of jasmine. The voices are still out there, all these years later, singing something you remember. Savaging Spires have created a world of sound where old ghosts can walk freely through these sunny grounds and impart equal doses of dread and joy. Whistles, strings and choral vocals.. work songs for the dead… wonderfully melodic songdreams… stuttering feedback… hazy music box melancholy… a gentle reverie of harmonica and slide guitar. One of the most evocative records you’re likely to hear this year. Outsize hardback digisleeve.
SIMON FISHER TURNER – ‘Derek Jarman Super8: Soundtracks For Derek’ 3 x CD
(Optical Sound) – £26 / £28 / £30
British painter, filmmaker and writer Derek Jarman is best known as a director of films and music videos from the 1980s and early 1990s. Less known is his work on over 60 Super-8 films from 1970 up to his death in 1994. Taken from the subjective-personal view of its hand-held camera Jarman conveys his artistic approach, in which life and art always connect naturally with each other. Spontaneity and lightness on the one hand, symbolism and mythology on the other hand, determined, often autobiographical film documents which he himself described as a “cinema of small gestures.” Simon Fisher Turner, who had been in Jarman many films since the 1980s, was responsible for the soundtrack to a special exhibition of these Super-8 films in Dusseldorf. He created a special atmosphere with site-specific soundscapes using violin, viola, cello, bass clarinet and accordion. Dedicated to Derek Jarman and Coil members John Balance and Peter Christopherson. Ltd x 500 copies in a stunning 8-panel, heavy card, DVD size digipak.
STEVEN SEVERIN – ‘Visions’ CD (RE:) – £8 / £9 / £10
“Visions Of Ecstasy” by controversial director Nigel Wingrove was intended as an exploration of the real life “visions” of St. Teresa of Avila. It’s well documented that these visions are erotic in nature so the project was on thin ice from the outset. The film was and is still the only film banned in the UK on the grounds of blasphemy, but the soundtrack by Steven Severin is available and features another ex-Banshees, Martin McCarrick on cello. A 45 minute ambient instrumental album at times reminiscent of the film scores of Michael Nyman and Philip Glass. Presented in a stunning 6-panel digisleeve (featuring a lenticular cover) with slipcase. Released on Severin’s own label.

Please note that all copies have a little bit of scuffing due to never having been shrinkwrapped, hence reduced price! We have put all copies into PVC sleeves to prevent any further damage. New & unplayed!

STEVEN SEVERIN / ARBAN SEVERIN – ‘Beauty & The Beast’ CD (Subconscious Music)
– £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50
This Dark Ambient album is based on a soundtrack originally commissioned by the Indo-Japanese performer Shakti in August 2003 for her interpretation of the story of Beauty and the Beast. The 50 minute score was created in an original manner. The titles and timing of each individual part was already decided upon by Shakti. Arban and Steven Severin worked on alternating pieces individually: Arban took responsibility for the odd-numbered tracks and Steven for the others. After a piece was near completion it was given over to the other partner to review and to make contributions. Only when both parties were satisfied was the track considered finished.

VARIOUS ARTISTS – ‘Trax Reprint 2: Notterossa Rednight’ 2 x CD (Small Voices)
– £12.50 / £14.50 / £16.50
This is the first in a series of reprint programme of the most representative titles from the TRAX catalogue, one for each letter of the name: T for Traxman, the comics series created for Frigidaire magazine by Massimo Giacon and Vittore Baroni; R for Rednight, a collective homage to the work of William S. Burroughs; A for Anthems, alternative national hymns for real and imaginary countries; X for Xtra, audio works composed at distance through a process of crossed interferences. Each reprint, accompanied with old and new texts, contemplates a digital remastering of the original works with the addition of remixes, remakes or new compositions created in concordance with the peculiar and distinctive “modular” approach of TRAX. This is an extended reissue of the cassette from 1982 (Trax, Ltd x 500). CD1: “Notterossa” is the full length orginal tape edited by V. Baroni & D. Ciulini. CD2 “Rednight” is a new creation by Giancula Becuzzi, assembled in 2006 at KXLab. A4 sleeve.

ACCURST – ‘Fragments Of A Nightmare’ CD (Colflesh Records) – £11 / £12 / £13

Accurst is a concept project exploring the nightmares of existence and the horrors of the subconscious. Echoing distant screams, psychotic laughter, the soundtrack to a soulless madman’s dream. Psychotic vocal effects drift through the low drones and repetitive melodic elements. This is a disturbing album, which should appeal to fans of dark ambient artists like Legion, Atrium Carceri, MZ 412 and Nordvargr.

BAD SECTOR – ‘The Harrow’ CD (Ewers Tonkunst / Indiestate Distribution)
– £11 / £12 / £13

Reissue of the 2001 release (Ltd x 584 copies, AVA/ES1-Reset) from this Italian legend. Maybe the most dark and obscure work of Bad Sector, this is an absolutely brilliant masterpiece of anxious claustrophobic dark ambient with a touch of radio noise, digital Geiger counter sounds and some sparks of subtle melodic threads, inspired by Kafka’s work. Released in a digifile with all new artwork.

Earth To The Spheres Vol. 6’ CD (A Silent Place) – £8 / £9 / £10

Reissue of the ultra limited eponymous LP from 2005. Performer / turntabilist Christian Marclay and cello improviser Okkyung Lee’s track is the result of a live performance recorded at Tonic NYC in December 2003. Lee’s powerful cello’s stabs interact with Marclay’s waves of screaming sounds creating a unique, stunning scenario. One of their heaviest conceptions to date, MCIAA’s piece is built on electric guitars’ strings moaning onto walls of space drones and electronics like ectoplasmic presences emerging from the brilliance of the Void. MCIAA’s need of a non-finite “space music & art” aesthetics research has led them to etch a ghost track (instead of the final lock-groove you can find on the original vinyl) to un-seal the sounds from their actual support. Digisleeve.

CISFINITUM – ‘Coniunctio’ 2 x CD (Ewers Tonkunst) – £14 / £15 / £16

Cisfinitum is one of the oldest and well-known projects in the Russian industrial scene. This 2CD set contains the tracks from the most gloomy and profound albums of Cisfinitum – “Landschaft” and “Malgyl” (previously unreleased), which were recorded during 1999-2001. The material has been remastered and recompiled to become the new entity called “Coniunctio.” Going through the desperate landscapes of today’s dying spiritless world, the listener comes into the sacred and surreal inner space of an immaterial land full of light, mysticism and universal melancholy. One of the most beautiful and heartfelt records in the drone ambient style, reminding of the best and saddest Maeror Tri. Second edition in gatefold digisleeve with new artwork.

GIANLUCA BECUZZI (KINETIX) – ‘Memory Makes Noise’ CD (Small Voices)
– £8 / £9 / £10

Gianluca Becuzzi, for the first time, presents his work under his birth name, confining the Kinetix as an extension of his name. The Tuscan sound-artist focuses his research on electro-acoustic sounds, livening ‘Memory Makes Noise’ with throbbing concrete noises, material manipulations and deep environmental reverberations. Ltd x 500 copies in a digisleeve.

GIANLUCA BECUZZI & FABIO ORSI – ‘Muddy Speaking Ghosts Through My
Machines’ CD (A Silent Place) – £8 / £9 / £10

This is Alan Lomax reimagined by Spaceways Incorporated: folk songs hoarded as talismans from distant worlds… distant, that is, in time rather than space. This is a collaboration between Fabio Orsi and Gianluca Becuzzi (Kinetix). The unexpected encounter between these different forces, experiences, and visions of these two artists melts perfectly on this album. Drones and rumors, pouring between distant voices and centenary blues songs from the Alan Lomax archive, tow off shreds of ballads, guitars and old keyboards floating on the vibrant surface of a fairy river. Rapture and sweet loss are the main sensations. This could be listed as avant folk, or experimental blues, or ambient roots, or contemporary aesthetics and aching nostalgia. Digisleeve.

(A Silent Place) – £8 / £9 / £10

Re-release of “The Wrong Cage”, the superfreaky, acid rock album that introduced Italian psych-pop mavericks Jennifer Gentle to the rest of the world, leading to their subsequent Sub Pop signing. Originally self-released in 2002, “The Wrong Cage” saw the young Italian quartet join forces with Kawabata Makoto (Acid Mothers Temple) for a live album that captured the band at it’s most ferocious. Over 30 minutes of wonderful sonic carnage: two long, ultra-heavy guitar freakouts plus a eerily beautiful solo sarongi track played by Kawabata. All in all, a must for all fans of heavy, guitar-driven psychedelic avant-rock. Inlcudes a bonus track – an 18-minute long version of “Bring Them” from another night of that tour. Digipak.

JUDAH – ‘Judah’ CD (Small Voices) – £8 / £9 / £10

Second full album by those clones of NY’s legend Suicide! This album is even more close to the very typical Suicide sound than the first one.. they sound extremely close to the originals! An incredible collision between cold and analogue minimal electronics with toxic and vicious vocals, rock ‘n roll and savage punk. A real cult project / cult release.

KINETIX – ‘Selected E_Missions’ CD (Small Voices) – £8 / £9 / £10

Kinetix is the new moniker of Gianluca Becuzzi (Limbo). Deep and wrapping digital soundscapes, dotted by micro-noisy granular material, resonant fields where time and space humble themselves in a single perceptive continuum. Contemporary, abstract, minimal, cold, intense and evocative drone music. Digipak.

KINETIX – ‘White Rooms’ 2 x CD (Small Voices) – £12 / £13 / £14

“White Rooms” is a work which conjugates radical electronica and expressive power in a unique formula made of stylised and very personal minimalist sound-design. The relationships between physical space and acoustic space constitute the main theme of this double-CD, packaged in an elegant double digipak. “White Rooms” is a limpid digital gallery through which the listener is invited to discover bright and resounding spaces, white flats inhabited by concrete sounds, ultra-frequencies, noises, voices and silences. An aesthetic experience placing itself beyond the genres in territories of pure contemporary avant-garde.

(A Silent Place) – £8 / £9 / £10

Second full-length album from Italian brothers Maurizio & Roberto Opalio (My Cat Is An Alien) and vocalist Ramona Ponzini (Praxinoscope). ‘Fallen Camellias’ is a tribute to one of the greatest poetess ever, Japanese Yosano Akiko, whose work in literature in the early 1900’s is considered as manifesto of the Japanese Romanticism. Imagine a Vashti Bunyan or a early Marianne Faithful singing sweet melodies in Japanese language, and you can have an idea of the musical and poetical universe of PPOPG. The songs of ‘Fallen Camellias’ are built on acoustic guitar melodies and are made of the same pure, melancholy of the legendary Nick Drake. Let ‘Fallen Camellias’ be your warm blanket, as well as the promise of a new future spring. 6-panel digipak.

ROBERTO OPALIO – ‘The Last Night Of The Angel Of Glass, Vol I & II’ 2 x CD
(A Silent Place) – £12 / £13 / £14

Reissue of the acclaimed “The Last Night Of The Angel Of Glass, Vol.I”, original soundtrack to the omonimous film by Roberto Opalio, plus the previously unreleased “Vol.II”, representing the second half of a unique recording session. “There is no other cosmic traveller like Roberto Opalio. Best known for his work with his brother as My Cat Is An Alien, this feline twin is slowly building an equally impressive body of solo works. Opalio is on another plane entirely with “The last night of the Angel of Glass.” Bypassing the cosmos completely and directing his aim straight to heaven. Using nothing but his guitar and his voice, Opalio sears the stratosphere into orbit. As his voice floats like a ghost into the empty celestial crevices, his guitar falls from the sky like a melted star. This is haunting and magnificent. Roberto Opalio at his best” (Foxy Digitalis).
