Asmodeus X's new full length album Wolf Age portrays a band that undecidedly balances between neo-classical/dark/folk and electronic/ebm/industrial. Their unresolved exploration in search of a definite soul weights a little too much on the final result, in my humble opinion. If you ask me there is nothing wrong with experimenting and being eclectic, but the risk is to sound inconclusive and to miss the point. Personally, I believe their electronic soul is better developed than their dark/neo/folk one (in terms of songwriting, quality of employed sounds and singing style). On the other hand if you are one of these people walking the fine line between the neo-folk/classical mysticism, the good old ebm sequencing, the guitar-friendly and dance-friendly dark/goth scenes this could be right up your alley. The trio dares comparisons with Joy Division, Kraftwerk, Death In June, Ministry and although each of these bands alone is better than the next and it is hard to imagine that a band could even get close to a mix of all four of them, I must admit it kind of points you in the right direction if you are considering this for your CD shelves (just don't expect the sum of all four!). If you wanna go for it it's for sale through our partner site Lattex recordings. Best thing would be to check out some mp3's first (and with bands this multi-faceted check out a bunch of them). If you are interested there will be a DVD release of a film called "Shut Eye" featuring a video of their song "Wolf in the Sky" directed by David J..
