Title: Remote
Format: CD
Label: A Different Drum (@)
Rated: *****
Keyboard player with ReActivate and writer/producer for a studio-company, Nicolay Frank founded Midnight Resistance at the beginning of 2007. Focusing his musical skills for this new project he released for A Different Dum his first solo album titled REMOTE. The album contains ten original tracks plus two remixes (Sidechain reworked "Second Skin", one of the best songs of the lot and People Theatre did a great version of "A tear in every moment", turning a classic modern synthpop upbeat song into an electro song that starts as a inspired piano ballad and ends as a sensual synthpop mid tempo) which show Nicolay's style made of dance attitude, melancholic electro ballads ("House of cards" is a great song with electronic ambient influences, dark wave guitars and good vocal melodies) and a bit of new wave approach to guitars. Alternating dance pop electronic upbeat songs and darker ones, Midnight Resistance succeeds into giving to the CD a balanced sound. Personally, I appreciated the darker ones most (see "Scar from falling down" for example), because I think that Nicolay gives his best with that kind of atmospheres as it seems to me that he arranged them in a better way using fading out sounds, increasing the power of the sounds where the song needed it, while on the upbeat ones he tend to lose the sense of melody focusing his attention on their dance potential.

Another excellent release from Synthetic Product Records. ReActivate debut "ReActivate Your Mind" is a well produced killer album with infectious beats and constructed synthesizers with catchy melody hooks, emotional lyrics with strong feelings that dominate the album. The songs on this album will surely take the audience on a complete emotive spellbound journey. A majestic futurepop/synthpop club vibration that will lull you to the dance floor. Non-stop electronic dance tracks that's highly provoking, addictive, danceable and splendid hypnotic. Favorites include "No Way Out", "Star Driver", "Last Wishes", "ReActivate Your Mind", "Dream In Silence", and "Lebenssinn", which is sung in the band's original German language. ReActivate wants the music lovers to know that don't let the government, anyone, radio, and the record companies who put out bogus & lame music to change their mind/way of thinking. Everyone is value to their own opinion and listen to whatever they want and makes them happy. So ReActivate your mind! Pick up this cd. Synthpop fans will surely enjoy it!

"Reactivate Your Mind" feature 2 discs by new coming artist REACTIVATE, who is based out of Germany and signed on Synthetic Product Records. A promo was sent to me, but the only cd in the package was the bonus remixes. The label staff forgot to include the band's full-length cd. Only thing I can do is review the 2nd disc that contains remixes. Reactivate is good as they come. A future-pop duo who knows how to make dance poppy tracks. The band is consist of Marc and Frank. The remix track"Dream In Silence" by (E:O:D) stands the disc out. The single edit "Emotions" is a beautify cute song. The instrumental "Spherical" is something interesting to get into. Club, thumping and bouncy is what I say about 2nd cd. Very excellent kick dope beats and synths melodic sound with an EBM edge is best described the dynamic duo's music. Reactivate will surely reactivate your mind. And that's for sure!
