The first time I've heard about Stefano Giust was a while ago, I knew he was not just the man behind Setola di Maiale but also a talented musician, time flies and beside improving his improvisational/musician skill his label has been around for thirteen years right now. This live is the product of a trio recording featuring Giust on drums, Giuseppe Mariani on laptop/trumpet and Vito Maria Laforgia on double bass and amplified saw: a good hint referred to the experimental nature of the performance. Judging from the band name (it means sounds-image) this' should have been a music plus visuals played simultaneously. Sure it makes you think to some learned/classical rumorism read concrete/electroacoustic, but what's surprisingly good is the attention they have for improvisation meant as ?extemporary composition? (as Braxton and many others would define it). If it was not for the fact he mainly worked with composition, it brought to my mind some works performed by Andrea Centazzo and it means thumbs up for the trio!. This cd is soft, well recorded (is a live performance at last) and deep; every musician?s tension is in control while waiting for his turn. Suonimmagine's needle pierces silence carefully like a junky pierces carefully his harm when shooting heroine for the first time.
