SEELENLICHT born from the collaboration of Troy Southgate (H.E.R.R. / Horologium) and Butow Maler (Kammer Sieben). Containing 14 beautiful tracks, the album covers different musical styles (chamber music, neo classical,neo-folk, militaristic and acoustic ballads). Some tracks may recall the classic H.E.R.R. song structure with classical piano/strings compositions with Troy's spoken word spanning through the human weaknesses and madness using also excerpts from Lord Byron and William Shakespeare works ("She walks in beauty" and stuff coming from "The merry wives of Windsor") but this isn't a problem because H.E.R.R. are great and also because the whole result sounds charming and fresh at the same time, covering also a wide range of emotions where the powerful percussions of tracks like "Flamme" or "Valhalla"are matched by melancholic orchestrations on "She walks in beauty" or "Seelenlicht".

Active since the 80's with different musical project Kai Lüdeling has released few things as Keen K. This new E.P. is presenting six new tracks in balance from lush electronics and italo disco intuitions (like the female vocals on "Retro 420"). The sound used and the way of alternating the different synth layers remembered me the latest Kraftwerk. You know, that sort of soft techno sound with many rhythm layers and rich sound textures. The whole E.P. is based on this kind of sound where long pads are enriched by light glitches, electronic breaks on mid tempo structures. This is the most "modern sounding" release for Das Drehmoment Records and it's good to see that they are varying their sound always keeping the quality high. This E.P. is available as limited edition of 200 vinyls with three different hand sprayed covers by Dinasix. Pick up the one you prefer...

Kind of a new format for this German underground label, which could match with three well recognized simply entitled "Electro Arc Compilations". A new name and a quite different concept to distribute the ongoing compilation series of the Electro Arc label, more based to be reachable via a digital downloading procedure at Finetunes for example but at least also a few exemplars as physical CDR will be available too. The conceptual idea behind the compilation releases of Electro Arc hasn’t changed. Michael "Intrendent" Maier has again collected some classic and veteran acts plus he added multiple newcomer acts and insider tips under his roof. The original Canadian Wave-/Pop-legend PSYCHE opens this compilation with a danceable Futurepop-tune which features Darrin Huss’ usual charismatic vocal performance. Harsh EBM then is the name of the game by the German act CONCRETE/RAGE, not a pearl of a composition, but it kicks asses. The duo of JÄGER 90 is a sort of NEP/DAF-copycats with a humorous background – well, this world has already seen and heard similar stuff, but filled with more dedication. One of the highlights, if not the best piece at all on this compilation is the appearance of Latvia’s finest Harsh Electro/Powernoise-act ROSEWATER, who like to praise their own label with "In The Name Of Sturm" – what a harsh and kicking smasher! UGH...! seems to be a side-project for the both musicians behind the German Dark Electro project NORDSCHLACHT, because they present an old-school NEP-like EM track which pokes fun on "legendary" quotes out of classic tunes ("Kalt Wie Stahl", "Wahre Arbeit, wahrer Lohn" or "Body To Body") this genre had to offer. Hungarian-based INDUSTRIAL WAVE STUDIO (again, I hope it isn’t only a software providing the music...) then come up with a tasteful instrumental Electro-tune, which convinces through its layer sounds. CRYO-TEKK, well, doesn’t this band name not already sound like Hellectro – are providing a track named "Damage" with harsh distorted vocals, an easy-to-pick-up melody and that typically booming Techno-bassdrum. What else do we have? Well, E:O:NITY have already visited earlier issues of the Electro Arc comp series. Their "Church Of Blood" satisfy with well worked out sequencer line programming, but the boring spoken female vocal performance ruins the first positive impression. The Belgium-based cult project LIQUID G. returns also on this compilation and provides with "Are You" a track which sounds like a live gig improvisation. MAXX:IMPACT is the side-project of LIQUID G. and offers unspectacular rhythmically Powernoise. With highs and depths, as usual from Electro-Arc, but the sense to fish into the underground and to pick up some sleeping talents is still the strongest attitude of this label. Keep them coming and continue!

Belgian musician Pierre Remy is active as Fractional and his latest album COME MIERDA ("Like shit") is going to be released at the end of the month by Brume Records. Fractional creates great sound sculptures where ambient, dub, break beat and industrial music is blend into a cinematic mixture that works really great. Listening to tracks like "Sibi" makes you dive into a different world and if you close your eyes you'll realize that it isn't a really comfortable one. Tension, a bit of sadness, melancholy and rage are the feelings expressed by Pierre's music and if you check the Antonin de Bemels ''Misute'' video, (you can find it into the CDrom partition of the CD) you'll check yourself what I mean. We have faceless guys walking down the streets. The main character (when the break beat part is on) turns into what it seems to be a Tibetan demon (or it is an oni) with a great visual effect (his hair spread and twist). Great sound and atmosphere...

It's some time that T.Raumschmiere isn't releasing a proper new studio album. His latest one "Random Noize Sessions Vol. 01" contained lost studio tracks and live recordings made between the 1996/2005 period. Anyway, the wait is almost over, because "I tank U" is the next in line and E is the first single coming from it. Containing two new tracks "E" and "E 303" this single will make arise the excitement about the new album because the main track is like honey: once it gets you, you can't free yourself so quickly, but it's so sweet that you won't... It is based on minimal techno key shifts with great fat sounds and punchy rhythms. A real killer. The B-side is less immediate but it's a good hypnotic techno one with Roland 303 inserts. Can't wait for the new album...
