After his trilogy (reviewed elsewhere on these pages) Frank Gingeleit is back with a surprising album that sets apart from his previous production and provides a different approach to live avantgarde experimental music while keeping an outlook on free-jazz improvisation and krautrock. The entire album was performed using uniquely electronic equipment triggered by a synth guitar, and here comes the amazing part: all the rhythmical parts (from the sixteenth note hi hat hits to the swinging ride, from the quarter note snare drum to the grooving kick drum, everything!) where actually played on the strings of that same synth guitar, and I'll let you imagine what that takes (starts with "b" in english and with "c" in spanish...). Considering the type of music we're dealing with here you have to be a lover of kraut-fusion-electro-avant-experimental music (if such thing exists; hell yeah it exists, I am listening to it right now!). My only complaint with this record is that the sound quality doesn't have the depth and the range it should have, which would make it even more appreciated, but maybe I am just too picky of a professional audio freak... I suggest you test your mind's openess with this record because it deserves your attention and your admiration.
