Formed six years ago, Badun passed a lot of time tuning the style they wanted to have for their music. Oliver Duckert, Aske Krammer and Brian Møller wished to create a particular blend of electronic jazz music deeply influenced by 70's bands of the likes of Weather Report, Miles Davis (Bitches Brew era) and the electronic duo Flanger. Listening to BADUN I must say that their aim to create something unique has been reached. Since from the opening "Turban" you realize that something is going on. Also on the following "Pulsen" I can hear echoes of Robert Fripp along with i.d.m. treatements. I'm not fond of jazz but blending it with some sort of electronic tension it's a good treatment and I found it intriguing. For my tastes tracks like "Kompleks" or the following "Mælkebøtten" have too much free jazz elements but there's also enough tracks with a certain experimental feeling that made me appreciate Badun's work. If you are looking for something particular and kinda smooth, the album will be released on early April on CD and double vinyl.
