Hi

I hope this email puts a smile on your face.

Street Sounds re-launched because of you and the many others who either grew up on the label or have recently joined the family and it is so satisfying that we keep on growing with your continued support.  Some great albums are in the pipeline and I have today started thinking seriously about the Street Sounds 30th ANNIVERSARY party!  Yes it all started in 1982 and next year we will be celebrating a journey many of us have been on and is still as relevant (almost) 30 years on.  I would love to hear your thoughts, ideas and recommendations about who and what you would like to see at this landmark event.  Your input shaped the UK Fresh Reunion at Scala in July and made it so spectacular; let’s really make the 30th Anniversary next year something so very special.  What is also gratifying are the amount of people who did not come to the event but now having watched the DVD or heard the stories are asking when Street Sounds will be holding the next show!

Good news, we are currently discussing continued investment in the label which will mean an increased release schedule and events.  I would like to thank you for the many track ideas for Crucial 4 (see below) which you have been submitting as requests for the Street Sounds Radio Show.

I would really love to hear from you with any ideas or suggestions.  Thanks.

NU ELECTRO VOL.4:

Everyday Nu Electro vol.4 gets nearer completion!  The tracks on vol.4 will reflect the very best of the Nu Electro movement.  Obviously it takes time to create ‘great’ tracks and it is this quality control which has always differentiated a Street Sounds album from the rest.  Release date is December 2011.

CRUCIAL 4:

The original Crucial series was one of the most popular of the Street Sounds albums.  Crucial 1, 2 & 3 all represented the ‘very best’ of Electro.  However, these albums were obviously limited by the number of tracks we could physically put onto each compilation and so many Electro gems never made it onto the original Crucial series.  Crucial 4 will include tracks that have now become Electro anthems and which may have appeared on the Street Sounds Electro series as well as killer Electro tunes that never made it on the Electro series.  It is important to remember that the original Electro albums could only have around 50 minutes of playing time as they were on Vinyl which meant I had to exclude so many other great tracks on each release.  Crucial 4 will feature the very best classic Electro and is scheduled for release in December/January.

DARXID ‘TIME CONTROL’ – The Album:

Street Sounds are proud to announce the release of the much anticipated Darxid album – ‘Time Control’.

Darxid is an Artist, Musician and Producer extraordinaire!  Rarely has an artist had such universal accolade bestowed on them by numerous fellow artists and producers.

Darxid has been one of the most exciting discoveries of the Nu Electro scene, with both his talents as an artist and producer attracting a huge fan base.  Any tracks with his involvement quickly become particular favourites amongst Electro fans.  Darxid has also featured on all 3 Nu Electro albums; Nu Electro vol.1’s “Bass Operator”, vol.2’s collaboration with Debonaire on “Intercontinental Bass Express (Westbound Train)”, the remix of Fatback 4Way’s “Generate Some Action!”, to arguably his best yet with “You (Rewerked)” for vol.3 along with another fantastic remix for Fatback 4Way with “Watchin’ All The Ladies”.

The world has only just begun to touch on the immense talent Darxid has to offer and ‘Time Control’, the much anticipated debut album by Darxid will appeal to and cross numerous scenes worldwide.  The album has been in production for over two years and it is a masterpiece of inspiration and innovation that redefines Electro.

‘Time Control’ will be available on CD and digital download on 28th November 2011.  Please click here for more information and to have an exclusive preview of all the tracks on the album.

Filmed at Scala in London on Saturday 16th July 2011, the Street Sounds UK Fresh Reunion features performances by some of the greatest legends of Hip Hop and Electro; Captain Rock, Newcleus, The B Boys featuring DJ Chuck Chillout and Arthur Baker alongside Nu Electro stars Darxid and Analog Knightz, with BBC Radio’s Dave Pearce as MC.

With Nu Electro vol.1 and 2 vinyl already collector’s items exchanging for ridiculous amounts across the internet, this Two Disc Limited Collector’s Edition DVD and Audio Highlights CD is an absolute must-have. We had been asked by fans to pre-warn them when stocks are running low and they are now running dangerously low for those still waiting to order so don’t delay, we don’t want to see you disappointed, click here to buy yours now!  Please remember the Highlights CD will no longer be available to buy once the Limited Stock sells out!

ELECTRO 1:

Since re-launching the Street Sounds label it has been my ultimate goal to re-release many of the original albums.  Imagine the Electro albums digitally remastered using the original master tapes (not the terrible bootleg rubbish you can find on the internet, that have been ripped from someone’s old vinyl) and featuring some incredible bonus material…this is now in progress!  We will be initially releasing Electro 1 to 10, the Crucial Electro albums 1 to 3 and UK Electro.  Release date for Electro 1 is January 2012.

NU ELECTRO VOL.1 & 3 (CD REPRESS):

We are sorry that Nu Electro vol.1 & 2 CDs have been out of stock for a few months, but great news they will be back in stock in time for your Christmas stocking.

STREET SOUNDS GEAR:

Since the UK Fresh Reunion we have had an unprecedented run on our merchandise and are pretty much out of stock on everything including the Limited Edition Reunion T-shirt (don’t say we didn’t warn you!).  We are hoping to be able to restock the shop in time for Christmas.
