*  Voted ‘Best E-Shop’ in Side-Line Music Awards 2010  *

Welcome to our weekly round-up of forthcoming releases – our first one in 2011! I’m going to try to make this section shorter this year, as the newsletters take many hours to put together.

“Thorn in My Flesh” is the new masterpiece from X-FUSION, proving again their special position in the harsh electro sector. This album is even more powerful than its predecessor “Ultima Ratio” and provides four potential club hits. The limited edition DVD-sized digibox contains four exclusive bonus tracks not available anywhere else!

PSY’AVIAH return with “Into the Game”, a limited ‘DJ EP’ not available through ‘regular’ distribution or shops! This new EP shines the spotlight on their successful teamwork with AYRIA, offering no less than nine versions of “Into The Game”, with its infectiously addictive lead vocals by Jennifer Parkin. As bonus, PSY’AVIAH have also created a radical remix of their club hit “Voltage” by label-mates KRYSTAL SYSTEM and reveal the brand new song “Wired Life”.

“Verbundstoff” is a new album of remixed songs from the current PATENBRIGADE: WOLFF album “Baustoff (Popmusik für Fohrleger)”, plus rare and new songs. Ambient electro pop from Berlin in the tradition of KRAFTWERK, SCHILLER and JEAN-MICHEL JARRE – a multi-faceted electro mixture of pop, ambient, techno, club, industrial and wave.

“Live at Hammersmith Apollo 16.10.2010” is an exclusive LIMITED EDITION live recording taken from KILLING JOKE’s outstanding recent show. The Bristish post-punk artists tour featured hits spanning the band’s thirty year career, including “Requiem” and “Love Like Blood”.

For the first time, all the “Themes” albums by PSYCHIC TV are being released together, in a sumptuous, embossed box set. Thee essential collection of rare, archive and modern PTV ritual/esoteric musick!

This weeks releases to keep industrialists happy include “Shipwrecks” from GHOST & THE WRITER, featuring Frank Spinath (SEABOUND), giving a modern twist to EBM, and more intelligent electronics from LIQUID DIVINE with their very limited “Sojourner E.P.”.

Hard electronics are catered for with “Neo-Futurism + Studio-MatriX Remixes”, a 2CD package from Aussie expert remixers STUDIO-X, and the debut “Toxicum” from German EBM/metal crossover act INCUBITE. We have the latest release from EISENFUNK too – “8-Bit” (let’s play “Pong”!).

HATESEX’s new album, “A Savage Cabaret, She Said”, is a welcome return from the US goth outfit, and good news from the UK as the excellent LUXURY STRANGER unleash more post/punk with their second album “Commitment and Discipline”. “Hypogeum II” is the new album from old-school goths MERCYFUL NUNS and Pagan rockers INKUBUS SUKKUBUS are back with their 14th album “The Dark Goddess”.

Synthpop act ENDANGER have a new EP “Die Show Muss Weitergehen”, whilst Dutch dark electronics band ELEKTRONISCHE MASCHINE’s fifth album “Kampf Maschine” will be out soon too. BLANK & JONES present their fourth edition of the eighties megamix series “so80s (So Eighties) 4” also.

Alexander Hacke (EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN’s bass player) and Danielle de Picciotto go back to basics for “Hitman’s Heel” and folk/industrial Swedes LOVAC release their debut “Apes of a Cold God” – for fans of DEATH IN JUNE!

NEW RELEASES
X-Fusion Thorn in My Flesh £12.00
Review
“Thorn in My Flesh” is the new masterpiece from X-FUSION, proving again their special position in the harsh electro sector. They are clearly on the highest level with respect to songwriting and production, and their seventh official album is once again rounded off by fitting and artistically demanding artwork, forming a coherent unit and turns the whole thing into a piece of art.

This album is even more powerful than its predecessor “Ultima Ratio” and provides four potential club hits with “Stroke by Stroke”, “Holy Grail”, “Shadow of Myself” and “Just a Scar”. As usual, very diverse and of the highest quality, X-FUSION once again succeed in holding the listeners’ attention and leading them into an ominous and dark world. Songs like “Divine Spite”, the orchestral “Funeral Cortege” and the German language track “Kalt” make “Thorn in My Flesh” another milestone of harsh electro.

Psy’aviah Into the Game (featuring AYRIA) £10.50
Review
Limited ‘DJ EP’ (actually a full-length eleven-track remix available), not available through ‘regular’ distribution or shops!

The Belgian act PSY’AVIAH have always been interested in fruitful collaborations with other artists, allowing them to learn and grow from shared experiences. Their recent third album “Eclectric” proved this once again, revealing their studio work with Jean-Luc De Meyer of FRONT 242 and also with the Canadian electro icon Jennifer Parkin of AYRIA.

This new EP shines the spotlight on their successful teamwork with AYRIA, offering no less than nine versions of “Into The Game” with its infectiously addictive lead vocals by Jennifer Parkin. Faithful to their eclectic artistic concept, PSY’AVIAH have selected a great variety of very different remixers to guarantee a splendid diversity of reinterpretations of the featured song. From the EBM mixes by SIGNAL AOUT 42 and P.N.E. to the more electric versions by SLAVE REPUBLIC, the electro pop of SUICIDAL ROMANCE to the upbeat progressive dance reworks by INTERFACE and DISKONNEKTED, and the dark renditions by MISERY and SCHWARZBLUT.

As bonus, PSY’AVIAH have also created a radical remix of their club hit “Voltage” by label-mates KRYSTAL SYSTEM and reveal the brand new song “Wired Life”, a first preview of their next album…

The perfect meeting between emotional powerful female vocals, futuristic vicious synths and ferocious upbeat electronic arrangements…

Ghost & Writer Shipwrecks £14.00
Review
It feels like an eternity since Jimmyjoe Snark III, at that time still using the moniker of THE WEATHERMEN, exploded onto the EBM scene with the track “Poison”. Singer Frank Spinath, on the other hand, is known for his relatively recent projects SEABOUND and EDGE OF DAWN, both huge hits among electro fans. Together they constitute GHOST & WRITER, but do not really give away who is the ghost and who is the writer. From the promo video clips, it’s clear that the duo share a weakness for black-and-white films, whose aesthetic matches up perfectly with the stories of GHOST & WRITER. In their own words: “Our songs are like short films. Like the characters in a film noir, the protagonists in our songs are often fighting a losing battle because they romanticize too deeply that which they cannot have, and so they collapse. Or they are fleeing from that which they actually desire. Musically the album is characterized by a certain effortlessness, like old movie theaters or carousels. It resonates with both a playfulness as well as with a deep romantic desire.”

Snark and Spinath give conventional songwriting the cold shoulder and turn instead to brazenly modern structures as well as beloved yet nearly forgotten retro-elements, or as they put it: “Mean little stories blown up to cinematic proportions. Stranded and battered electronic memorials of better days. And yet, so fresh it almost hurts.” This highly professional recording was mastered by none other than FRONT 242’s Daniel B., bringing out the fresh, new, and unconventional accents of an album sure to stand out in 2011.

Studio-X Neo-Futurism + Studio-MatriX Remixes £15.00
Review
Flawlessly fusing elements of electro, industrial, house, techno, trance and hard trance into a series of hard-hitting tracks, STUDIO-X rapidly became a sought-after trademark for remix projects and collaboration work within the electro/industrial scene. The “Studio-matriX” bonus part of this album is the perfect vehicle to spotlight the talent behind the re-mixing desk, gathering together twelve upbeat reworks that the band have created in recent months for bands like NITZER EBB, AYRIA, LEÆTHER STRIP, IMPLANT, UNTER NULL, I:SCINTILLA, and HELALYN FLOWERS, etc.

But “Neo-Futurism” is much more than just a remix showcase; above all the album reveals another dimension to STUDIO-X’s activities: their original compositions confirming to us the talen of this Australian project. Initially set up in 2008, on a mission to be the ultimate music portal for producers/DJs Lawrie Bayldon and Matthew Martin, STUDIO-X fire dark NRG/hard trance into a quite stagnant industrial/electro scene, breathing new life into the harder clubs across the planet. STUDIO-X will soon revolutionize the darker dancefloors of the universe with their infectious upbeat electronics and vicious sampling manipulations… start the countdown.

A must for fans of LAB-4, PROTEUS, SOMAN, KOMOR KOMMANDO, LISA LASHES, S.H.O.K.K., ULTRAFORM, etc.

Eisenfunk 8-Bit £15.06
Review
We all remember the 80s… well perhaps the younger ones amoungst us don’t, but I’m sure they’ve heard about this wonderful era. Obviously, one of the greatest things about it was the it was clearly defined by great music! But there was another historical development within these years. Computer freaks, especially the gamer generation will exactly what I mean… the advance of computer games! And now EISENFUNK have dedicated their latest album, “8 Bit” to this period. It’s like homage to the Commodore 64 generation. “EISENFUNK – the industrial alloy of melody and noise” as the formation have described themselves on the headline on their homepage. Hatesex A Savage Cabaret, She Said £12.00
Review
Formed in 2003 by Benn Ra (DIVA DESTRUCTION, SCARLET’S REMAINS, FRANK THE BAPTIST), HATESEX quickly made a name for themselves. The band was noticed immediately with their first official appearance on Strobelight Records’ “New Dark Age” compilation. Their four-track promo CD, recorded and co-produced in 2004 by Bari-Bari (MEPHISTO WALZ/ex-CHRISTIAN DEATH), was received with open arms by the European goth press and all four songs on the CD received extensive club play. Shortly afterwards, they signed to Dark Dimensions and the debut “Unwant” (2005) garnered very positive reviews, even landing on a few Top 10 lists for 2005. In 2006 they were invited to play at WGT!

Fast forward to 2008: Benn returns from a 2-year sabbatical in Berlin, during which he handled bass duties for the mighty FRANK THE BAPTIST. Once back in Los Angeles, Benn and Krisanna convened once again to begin assembling material for the follow up to “Unwant”. Deciding to produce the album themselves, the band took their time crafting songs that would build upon the foundation they had laid with “Unwant” while at the same time exhibiting an aged maturity. “A Savage Cabaret, She Said” is the result of this work. From the powermad thrust of “A Rose Without Eyes” to the heartbreaking strains of “Wanderlust”, the band has scorched all the earth in between, leaving nothing of use behind. “A Savage Cabaret, She Said” is also the result of a collective vision. To help the band realize this, they enlisted the services of well known L.A. artist Taslimur, who created a collection of thematic artwork above and beyond anything the band could have imagined. This visual element lifts the lyrics from the page and feeds them to the eyes while the melodies are fed to the ears… This is “A Savage Cabaret, She Said.”

Luxury Stranger Commitment and Discipline £6.00
Review
Luxury Stranger are an English band, mainly influenced by the sounds of post-punk/cold wave era from 1978 – 1984. Imagine: DAVID BOWIE and IGGY POP’s Berlin years mixed with a dash of BOLAN glam, the disparate sound of JOY DIVISION and early CURE with the melodies of MARTIN L GORE and power of THE CHAMELEONS – THIS is LUXURY STRANGER.

“Commitment and Discipline” is their long-awaited second album, featuring songs that have already been established in the LS live set, one of which – “Where You’ve Gone” – gained position #10 in the Top 20 songs of 2010 for DJ Ghost on ACE Radio’s Charnel House show.

Merciful Nuns Hypogeum II £14.25
Review
Returning from the core of the Underworld, “Hypogeum II” hits straighter and darker than ever imagined, offering another brainwashing journey into the forgotten fields of the Megalithic culture. “Hypogeum II” is without any doubt the album destined to be seated forever on the throne of classic dark GOTH. An album to please the elder gods, full of real dark pearls; almost every part of this release appears to be intent on generating a more intense atmosphere. When listening to the album you feel like you are in a movie theatre. Could it be that there was once a single, highly-advanced group of men that virtually kick-started the world…?

Inkubus Sukkubus The Dark Goddess £13.50
Review
The latest INKUBUS SUKKUBUS release is a celebration of the less benevolent aspects of female divinity and is dedicated to the Goddess Lilith. Not every single track embraces this theme; there is the anthemic “Karnayna Chorus”, which is a celebration of the Horned God, but most of the songs on the album point towards the many aspects of the goddess at her more sinister.

INKUBUS SUKKUBUS are known for embracing both the dark and the light, which is one of the reasons why they are known for their depth and complexity by music fans, Pagans and academics alike. This album certainly has both darkness and light within it.

For 21 years now, the band have been weaving their magick for music fans across the world. When three students got together at a Gloucestershire college in 1989, they did so for a shared interest in alternative music, earth mysteries and occultism. Little did they know at this time the enduring appeal and vice-like grip the music would have on themselves and many of the band’s followers over the years. 21 years on, and INKUBUS SUKKUBUS have released thirteen albums and played over most of the world. The band has a very unique and interesting sound that is mystical, exciting, beautiful and erotic.

Throughout 2011 INKUBUS SUKKUBUS will be concentrating on their live shows and developing their performance which, now where possible, contains a video backdrop. The year will also see the re-release of three of the band’s earlier albums (“Supernature”, “Heartbeat of the Earth” and “Away with the Faeries” in new editions).

Elektronische Maschine Kampf Maschine £12.25
Review
As a result of seven years of hard labour the Dutch formation ELEKTRONISCHE MASCHINE are back with their fifth album “Kampf Maschine”, published by the German label IntraPOP.

The trademark of the early works of ELEKTRONISCHE MASCHINE was melodic, dancefloor-friendly music. With “Kampf Maschine” they are now exploring the dark side of the electronic music with an emphasis on heavy beats. Notable is the use of international original voices and vocals (no samples) by more than fourteen different persons (originating from the USA, UK, Ukraine, Germany and The Netherlands).

This new album is distinguished by the authentic unique sounds produced by sound artist Jaap van Woerkom. Composer Richard de Boer has united all this to into a thrilling piece of work. The ‘icing on the cake’ is the mastering by Eroc. The result is a clear, dynamic and danceable album. Even more remarkable is that “Kampf Maschine” is a concept album. All the tracks are fused into each other forming one continuous piece of music to be considered as a movie without images. The theme of the album is the permanent struggle against mediocrity, which in all its aspects can be observed effortlessly around us. Moderateness instead of quality. In the field of music, ELEKTRONISCHE MASCHINE feel that this is demonstrated by the excessive exposure of the styles R&B and rap. In short, the album tells the following story: “an attack on the complete population is taking place by an entity called R&Bs. An isolated group called the EBMs is acting underground. By building a fighting machine (“Kampf Maschine”) out of the basic material, a battle is organized out of which the R&Bs are decimated”.

Various Artists Blank & Jones present: so80s (So Eighties) 4 £19.75
Review
For the forth edition of this classic series, BLANK & JONES both went into their archives again and then met in their studio to play the records to each other. What sounds like pure fun, is pure fun!

This time the two passionate record collectors present some rare italo disco classics in their full 12″ versions – mixes from ABC, TEARS FOR FEARS, THE CURE and FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD, on CD for the very first time and also the first STOCK AITKEN WATERMAN production on a “so80s” release.

But this is not all about rare mixes just for the novelty of it – it is also about quality songwriting. Of course this is a very subjective collection, but that’s exactly what makes it so special and so different from all the other genre releases. It’s simply done with heart and soul. Looking at the tracklisting it becomes very clear that BLANK & JONES want to celebrate the enormous variety of the 80s by presenting not only the likes of GAZEBO, DEN HARROW and MIKE FRANCIS, but also acts like the post-punk band PIL, goth legends SISTERS OF MERCY and even lesser known acts like BOOK OF LOVE, GANG OF FOUR and HITLIST.

The non-stop DJ mix on disc one is a highlight as well, bringing the original 80s mix flavour to your speakers.

Alexander Hacke and Danielle de Picciotto Hitman’s Heel £15.25
Review
ALEXANDER HACKE is known as EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN’s bass player and main figure in Fatih Akins movie “Crossing the Bridge”. The American born DANIELLE DE PICCIOTTO was singer of the SPACE COWBOYS and Gudrun Gut’s OCEAN CLUB and is an icon in Berlin’s creative underground and co-founder of the Love Parade together with Dr Motte. Her art and film projects are exhibited internationally.

Hacke/de Piccciotto have been a huge influence on Berlin’s underground scene since the 80s. Their new album goes back to the basics, without sequencing or electronic processing. Concentrating purely on their instruments (guitar, autoharp, keyboards, drums), their songs can be performed on any stage and unplugged. Disregarding fashion, conventions or everyday standards, their lyrics speak of the world they are discovering: ‘Solitude’, ‘Magic’ and ‘Freedom’. The brew ballads, gypsy rolls, Italo Western piano tunes, heavy guitar riffs and autoharp transport the audience into the world of the uncompromising explorer.

Lovac Apes of a Cold God £14.75
Review
“Apes of a Cold God” is the brilliant debut release by Swedish folk/industrial band LOVAC. LOVAC is a new band with old roots, having already released a full-length CD of DEATH IN JUNE covers on Douglas P.’s Nerus label under the name DOWN IN JUNE. With a distinctive “Totenpop” vision they re-invented the songs to the delight of both DEATH IN JUNE fans and music journalists, who discovered the treasure of Douglas P.’s songs anew.

LOVAC’s own music evokes a night-of-the-world mood that deftly calls down the nostalgia of romanticism and overlays it with a war machine blowing the cold breeze of death into the dawn. It is part of a larger movement of modern European pop music that draws inspiration from traditional folk music and brings it to new life in a fertile clash with the contemporary minimalistic industrial scene.

Analogue synthesizers are layered over electric guitars, supplemented with a variety of acoustic instruments, including military drums and the band’s ever-present Persian santoor, creating the unique music that defines LOVAC. Combining this music with text fragments from Karl Marx, Antonin Artaud and Percy Bysshe Shelley, the album “Apes of a Cold God” invites the listener to take a deep look into the abysmal underside of civilization.

Soleilmoon’s high standards in packaging are found in abundance with this CD, which is presented in a lavishly printed mini-LP style sleeve with gold foil blocking and an eight-page booklet.

Canaan Contro Luce £12.00
Review
After an absence from the scene of four years, here comes “Contro Luce”, the all-new, sixth album by CANAAN. It will probably raise some eyebrows, not only because it’s sung entirely in Italian, but also because it’s hardly comparable to what the band has done before. The concept of ‘dark music’ still – obviously – fits, but it’s way too narrow and restrictive to describe what CANAAN are playing in the year 2010. Cold Wave? Ambient? Dark? Ethnic music? All of these and something more. Now take a deep breath and sink into the shadows the band creates through the 71 minutes of this lightly dimmed abyss. A journey from ashes to dust.

CANAAN came to life born in late 1995 out of the ashes of RAS ALGETHI, universally known as one of the forefathers of funeral doom. Throughout the years, five CANAAN albums have been published and all reached respectable sales figures, gaining the band a large base of devoted listeners and die-hard fans and establishing CANAAN as a respected and solid entity in the world of ‘obscure’ music (inverted commas mandatory). The band’s peculiar contamination of dark and ambient/experimental music has led to an easily recognizable sound which was and still is in constant evolution; composing techniques have also been greatly modified over time: CANAAN eventually moved on (after having set up their own small recording studio in 2003) towards a schizophrenic process based on continuous improvisations, random deconstructions and accurate reconstructions. This method was used for the first time on “The Unsaid Words”, then refined through the NERONOIA experience. Shortly after the release of “The Unsaid Words”, CANAAN were in fact put under ice for a while, and the creative flows were entirely channeled towards NERONOIA, whose two albums were recorded and released in 2006 and 2008, with Gianni (COLLOQUIO’s singer, and guest on CANAAN albums too) singing on both and writing lyrics with Mauro – founder and mastermind of CANAAN and the Eibon Label. In early 2009, NERONOIA came to a stop (temporary or permanent, this is uncertain yet) so Mauro and fellows came back to the loving arms of CANAAN. New songs were composed and arranged, then – again – destructured and re-assembled at the band’s home-studio before the final mixdown and mastering, carefully done by Alessio Camagni at Noise Factory.

The result is “Contro Luce” – enjoy!

Alien Vampires Harshlizer [Japanese Edition] £21.75
Review
The new ALIEN VAMPIRES album has been a HUGE success, and now hot on its heels, here comes a special JAPANESE edition, featuring not less than fifteen exclusive remixes.

This co-operative release between Alfa Matrix and Japanese label Deathwatch Asia comes in a six-panel digipak and features exclusive mixes by acts such as S.A.M, EDEN SYNTHETIC CORPS, CEDIGEST, C-LEKKTOR, PREEMPTIVE STRIKE 0.1, DETROIT DIESEL, REAXION GUERRILLA, ESC, and MENSCHDEFEKT. As might be expected from a band infamous for its use of explicit imagery and provocative titles/lyrics, the X-rated artwork for “Harshlizer” features fetish models in positions intended to offend, already resulting in the European cover having been banned by several magazines.

If there is one band that know no single compromise in their work and attitude, it is definitely the rebellious Italian/British combo ALIEN VAMPIRES! “Harshlizer” is an album that is bound to atomize dancefloors across the universe and it will accelerate your descent to hell in no time… The Asian continent is about to be invaded by their outrageous blend of harsh elektro, goth metal and obscene industrial dance.

Alice In Videoland A Million Thoughts and They’re All About You £13.75
Review
Back with their fourth studio album, Swedish electro-punk group ALICE IN VIDEOLAND have picked up right where the 2008 album “She’s a Machine” left off: unforgettable pop hooks, flirtatious vocals, and a jumping dance beat. The album features nine brand new songs including the single “Spaceship” which has already hit the national charts in the band’s home country, Sweden. Tracks like “Little Bird” and the incredibly sexy “Bender” show the band’s wide-ranging influences: GOLDFRAPP, THE PRESETS and THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE are all in there. And so is NENEH CHERRY, whose classic “Buffalo Stance” receives a kick-ass cover treatment. The result: the self-proclaimed world’s greatest electropunkband proves that they are.

Covenant Modern Ruin £16.85
Review
“Modern Ruin” is the latest chapter in COVENANT’s epic adventure in time and space. A band that has consistently made references to being in motion, physical and mental travel, exploration of the hidden and the unknown. And again they have wondrous tales to tell us.

Imagine a broken escalator coming up through the underbrush of a forest, stretching towards the treetops, no second floor left to receive its long-gone passengers. In the background, among the trees, you can make out the steel skeleton of what was once a great building, perhaps the transit hall of an airport. Once this was a busy hub filled with people going places. Now Mother Nature is recycling the remains, in her infinitely slow but irresistible way. What happened here? How did it happen? Or, perhaps, could it be that nothing ever did happen the way it was intended to?

These are among the questions asked by COVENANT on their seventh studio album “Modern Ruin”. A title that implies a whole range of possible scenarios: a romantic lament over an epoch of optimism; a sense of imminent doom; futuristic archaeology; a cheeky comment on the state of the modern world…

What do the band think? They won’t tell. So we’re left to explore for ourselves and there is a lot to discover among the ruins. As you travel through the ever-changing soundscape of “Modern Ruin” you get pummeled by frantic beats, lured astray by soothing melodies, drowned in the static noise of furious machines, gently carried along the streams of unknown waveforms, confused by contradictions. But you’re never completely lost. There are familiar landmarks as well. They may not look exactly like they used to, but they are enough to guarantee safe navigation.

This limited edition digipak includes an exclusive bonus CD featuring an additional track from the massively successful German movie “Wir Sind die Nacht” (‘We Are the Night’), currently playing in cinemas all over Germany! It also comes with slightly different front cover artwork, presented in a stylish digipak.

Massiv In Mensch Neimand Weiss Was die Zukunft Bringt £12.26
Review
MASSIV IN MENSCH are legendary electronic artists seamlessly blending techno, industrial, and punk with their hard-hitting assaults on the dancefloor. Based in Germany the duo comprised of Daniel Logemann (vocals) and Mirco Osterthun (programming) create electronic body music with heavy doses of techno and trance. Their vision of human revolution pits mankind against himself, and their music seeks to find hope and courage on a technological battlefield. Ranked as one of the top new artists when their debut was released in 2000, the German-based group have been growing steadily ever since and have built up a large fan-following.

After 2008’s “Meanwhile, Back in the Jungle”, MASSIV IN MENSCH pull no punches on their sixth studio album, the aptly titled “Niemand Weiss, was die Zukunft Bringt” (‘Nobody Knows What the Future Will Bring’). The album opens with an intro featuring the unmistakable voice of German actor Reiner Schoene (notable as the voice of the Darth Vader in the German dubs of the “Star Wars” films, as well as roles in “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, “Mortal Kombat: Annihilation”, “Babylon 5”, and more). Schoene went into the recording studio especially for this release, so its a real treat for cult movie buffs. Also making an appearance is MIND.IN.A.BOX, adding a synthpop vibe and subtle harmonies to MASSIV IN MENSCH’s killer sound. The album features a cover of the cult techno hit “Die Kybernauten” (recently back in the spotlight on a re-issue on German label Infacted) as well as a guest appearance from KONTRAST vocalist Nebelgeist. MASSIV IN MENSCH deliver fourteen tracks of techno-inspired dance music without ever missing a beat!

Soko Friedhof Mord £16.60
Review
The all new album by SOKO FRIEDHOF is the first part of a trilogy about ‘Murder’ (Mord). With it they deliver another ironic masterpiece of sarcastic goth-electro, filled with blackest humour and darkest sonorities. Sexually explicit lyrics meet the typical goth clichés SOKO have been known for for years. The lyrics are all about the deadly fantasies in our minds and if you understand German, you won’t be surprised that this album has inflamed some quite vivid and controversial discussions in the project’s home country. Dynamic, ironic, black, dark and explosive.

C/A/T Music to Piss You Off £12.26
Review
Pissing you off. It’s something Ben Arp has strived to achieve since starting his project, C/A/T, in the late 1990s. After numerous EPs and three studio albums, Arp brings his C/A/T project back to Crunch Pod to release a definitive “Best Of” album that spans the most productive period of the band’s history, 2005 – 2010. Voted on by fans of the band via a poll on Arp’s website, “Music to Piss YOU Off”, features tracks like “Smashed (v2)” and “(We Make) Music to Piss You Off” which got C/A/T noticed on the dark underground club circuit. Fan voting also led to some of the more abstract work that Arp is known for, such as the endcap to 2008’s concept album “The Great Crisis” and the downtempo “The Brink of Self-Destruction” from 2009’s “We Are Still Alive” EP.

Snog Avoid Panic Buying (Remixes for Early Adopters) £10.72
Review
SNOG has always been a strange animal. Some kind of electro-Frankenstein, a hybrid of progressive electronic music and archaic traditional work-songs and melancholic ballads. This release strips away Thrussell’s old-world songwriting to reveal the high-octane, pulsating electro-beast that often hides deep in the SNOG sound. There are club anthems here (“Shop (I.M.F Remix)”, jagged avant work-outs (BLACK LUNG’s remix of “The Human Germ”) and edgy dancefloor grunt (UBIN’s remix of “Real Estate Man”). These remixes were cooked up with paranoia, anger, love and dark, dark humour. You WILL like them.

Haushetaere Syndicate £13.28
Review
HAUSHETAERE came about through Nadine Cooraz’s collaborations with the harsh elektro act ACYLUM, where she brought melody and femininity to Pedro Engel’s devastating orchestral electronic arrangements. Since then both German artists have rapidly felt the magic growing between them and they let that unique creative flow unite their tormented minds… they let the machines speak. The German couple now presents to us HAUSHETAERE’s debut CD, “Syndicate”, a very eclectic album with no conceptual limits, including influences ranging from electro and industrial to pop and hip-hop. A surprising mélange of genres and influences, all united by the angry and revolted personality of frontwoman Nadine Cooraz Engel.

On this rich cocktail of opposites, HAUSHETAERE manage to jump from extreme harsh noisy elektro (“Rotes Sofa”, the intoxicating “Rauschgift” and the bombastic “Sunshine Is My destroyer”) to dark melodic moody pop (“The Game”, “Hetaere”) with a disturbing facility and a deviant touch. The German duo have also broken all scene boundaries by collaborating in studio with the famous Berlin aggro rapper Joe Rilla whose performance on “Believe” creates a bridge between hip-hop and elektro!

HAUSHETAERE go way beyond taboo, throwing rap elements into industrial, synthpop into dark elektro, noise into hip-hop, making “Syndicate” much more than just a feminine extension of ACYLUM. “Syndicate” is a multi-colored release full of melodic angst and fragile darkness that can be seen as the extreme sonic mixture of BLUTENGEL versus PZYCHOBITCH, or MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO versus COMBICHRIST. No matter how you interpret their sound, HAUSHETAERE are here to provoke and shock your ears! React!

La Magra The Shadows of My Past £12.26
Review
To ease the anticipation of the next studio production from LA MAGRA, here is a ‘Best Of’ album. “The Shadows of My Past” features not only songs right from the very beginning of the project, containing digitally remastered demo recordings (practically unavailable these days – until now) but also unreleased tracks from the past of the band. The listener is granted insight into the spiritual dwelling of these dark electronic musicians centred around frontman Louis Cyphre – a world of shadows inspired by creatures of the night and legends about fallen angels.

With fast club beats like “Needful Things” and “Serial Killer”, more typical songs for the band such as “Join Me” or rather quiet tracks like “Memories” and “Goodbye”, the album presents an unusually great variety of sounds and atmosphere. Clubbers will enjoy themselves just as much as those who look for appropriate background music for the dark hours at home.

“The Shadows of My Past” is especially dedicated to long-time fans, but you’d better hurry to get your hands on it, since it is limited to just 666 hellish copies worldwide.

Dolls Of Pain Strange Kiss £10.72
Review
Since their inception in 2003, electro-crossover DOLLS OF PAIN have proven themselves at major festivals such as the Wave Gothic Treffen in Leipzig (Germany) and the Gothic Festival in Waregem (Belgium). The band’s discography already includes a demo (“Emprise”), an EP (“Dominer”), three albums (“Dec(a)dance”, “Slavehunter” and Cybersex) and three free on-line remix compilations (“Dominer Remix”, “MixXxhunter” and “Cybermanipulations”).

This second EP “Strange Kiss” takes us once again onto the dancefloors of the electronic alternative scene with its rhythms, tortured guitars and haunting synths. The four new titles will seduce you. These are followed club remixes of two of the tracks by BAK XIII, A7IE, LARVA and DARX (who is the live sound engineer for the band). This EP is a nice teaser for band’s brand new album “The Last Conflict”, due out in March 2011.

Diverje Burn Away £13.02
Review
DIVERJE return with their seventh full-length album and their strongest new material yet! New member ADAM LANE of OBSCURE DESCENSION writes half of the album with Tommy T. and the results are stronger, and more diverse than ever, bringing a more detailed, complex arrangement structure with harsh EBM/industrial and guitars mixed on half the tracks, to give a metallic flavor and extra aggression to the mix. As with all DIVERJE albums, this one doesn’t sound the same all the way through. Lots of variety in the styles, musically and vocally, and they still seem to all work and flow together as a full album and not a compilation of songs. It features solid contributions from regular members JOSH WOOD and VINCE PUJOL, and some amazing new friends join DIVERJE on this trip.

Project Rotten The Freakshow £10.21
Review
PROJECT ROTTEN was founded in July 2009 as a solo project by Fredrik Croona of the band MENSCHDEFEKT. He made two tracks himself but then realized he needed someone more to complete the band. After a switch of members, the demo “Machine Made Flesh” saw the light of day in August 2009. Four months later in December of the same year, the self released EP “Bleed You Dry” was released.

In 2010 Ani left the band and after discussing it the band agreed that they didn’t need anymore members, so X/209 and Fredrik remain, and will continue to spread the the musical chaos across the world on their own.

With the debut album “Freakshow” complete and waiting to be unleashed, the band is more ready than ever to take the electro/industrial scene by storm.

Method Cell Curse of a Modern Age £10.21
Review
Following on from the club success of their promo-only EP “Scissors”, electro-dandies METHOD CELL release their début ten-track album “Curse of a Modern Age” on Rebco Records. From the opening driving bass of “Push”, METHOD CELL prove there’s more to a club hit than swearing by numbers, and industrial doesn’t have to mean monotone. Combining high-energy harmonics and acerbic lyrics with searing bass and beats, “Curse of a Modern Age” presents the listener with ten candycoated razor blades. With the obvious club potential of “Push”, “Call It Cutting” and the title track “Curse of a Modern Age” it’s little wonder they have already supported some of the scene’s great luminaries (such as COMBICHRIST), headlined Slimelight, received BBC radio play and dominated club playlists throughout the UK – and all within their first year of existence. With their combination of gallows, humour and memorable synthpop melodies, tracks such as “Scissors” and “Drop Dead” seem certain to guarantee we will be hearing a lot more of METHOD CELL in the coming years.

“Curse of a Modern Age” is a bitter, tongue-in-cheek look into modern life, with “Your Weakness” and “Believe” illustrating that even the highs have a darker consequence. Rather than relying on the stagnant, dour misery of many bands within the scene to tell the tale, somehow this duo combine powerful club beats with some of the strongest melodies heard outside of the 80s, wrapping up their scathing vignettes in delectable harmonies and dance-inducing bass lines. The scene has been crying out for a fresh approach beyond monotonous EBM-by-numbers and ‘shock for the sake of it’ repetitive lyrics. COMA provides just the shot we need. METHOD CELL can infect your dancefloor.

JANUARY SALE ADDITIONS
Dope Stars Inc. 21st Century Slave £9.47
Review
After the brilliant “Criminal Intents” EP, the complete new studio album from the digital warriors is now finally released. And unlike the implication of the album title, DOPE STARS INC. aren’t slaves of the technological world. They’re loud, warlike, angry and political. They use the medium of cybertech but combine it with the fury of punk. They combine flimmering sequencers with aggressive guitars, distorted vocals with persistently infectious melodies. And they arise out of the sordid darkness of modern cities to live on the edge of the abyss. Shimmering outlaws of virtual reality who fight the system by using its own methods. For a long time now, their music has not only been influenced by the elements of cyberpunk, but also new metal, electro, industrial and rock. DOPE STARS INC. are above all the musically realised version of William Gibson’s “Neuromancer”, Neal Stephenson’s “Snow Crash” and in terms of their sound, the further development of films such as “Bladerunner”. They show us the world how it really is. Dirty, shimmering, full of neon glare and beautiful light. But between all the superficialities are concealed feelings, and above all, furious rebels who tear down the boundaries and defy all categorisation: and all the while still damn young, loud and sexy. And just as SIGUE SIGUE SPUTNIK once celebrated “21st Century Boy”, DOPE STARS INC. really have become symbols of the new era. This is the sound of the new millennium.

The first edition of “21st Century Slave” is released as a lavish six-panel digipak with an extensive booklet full of sombre illustrations which perfectly sets the visual scene for the story and which can be described without over-exaggeration as a work of art. A collectors’ piece which no fan of DOPE STARS INC. should be without!

L’ame Immortelle Jenseits der Schatten ( Limited Edition ) £13.40
Review
L’AME IMMORTELLE’s brilliant concept album “Namenlos” and the February 2008 tour of the same name, proved unequivocally that they aren’t dead yet. In fact, quite the opposite – they still pack plenty of energy and creativity that old as well as new fans can be equally enthusiastic about. Following on from this, they release the live DVD/CD, “Jenseits der Schatten”.

Recorded on the “Namenlos” tour, the DVD resurrects once more the unique combination of musical and theatrical elements. A total of 135 minutes, you can see how Sonja Kraushofer and Thomas Rainer, with their perfectly-attuned live band and the author/actor Thomas Sabottka, translate the wildly acclaimed concept of the album to a live setting. No hit is missing from the band’s long history: from “Bitterkeit” to “Life Will Never be the Same Again” to “Fünf Jahre”, the entire range of the band is presented, and some songs are offered with surprising new arrangements. Here the electronica of the early days and the rather rockier gothic elements of the last album meet hammering industrial attacks and heart-rending synth harmonies. German poetry and raging English lyrics both complement and contrast each other, as do the well-known voices of both artists. But this isn’t the least of it!
The DVD offers extensive bonus material which shows out-takes from the tour, backstage footage, and in addition, a documentary about their trip to Moscow and exclusive tracks from the opening of the tour in Vienna. Not only the home town of Sonja and Thomas, but above all the home of the “Friedhof der Namenlosen” (the “Cemetery of the Nameless”, which provided the inspiration for the concept of “Namenlos”).

In addition to the extensive DVD, there is also a perfect live recording of the concert on CD. Goosepimples are guaranteed when you experience this unique concert experience at home!

Persephone Atma Gyan [Re-Release] £9.11
Review
At last: a re-release of the long sold out and highly sought-after second album from PERSEPHONE.

Two years after their sensational debut album “Home”, PERSEPHONE (fronted by female vocalist Sonja Kraushofer of L’ÂME IMMORTELLE) returned with some changes to their formation. Tobias Hahn and Rig left the band to dedicate themselves completely to JANUS, and at the same time Matt Howden (SIEBEN, ex-SOL INVICTUS) and Martin Höfert (SOPOR AETERNUS) joined the project, building on the extended dark ambient rumbles and neo-classical soundscapes of previous work and emerging into a more goth-ethereal, dark folk and sacral type of music. PERSEPHONE cover a densely contoured terrain, both bound and endless, sad and hauntingly beautiful.

To listen to PERSEPHONE is to imagine what the product of a collaboration between DEAD CAN DANCE and SOPOR AETERNUS would have sounded like. Heavenly voices blend eloquently with mysterious string patterns and doom-laden rhythms. Alongside many classical musicians (violin, cello, bassoon, oboe, clarinet and much more) this album once again features Wim, ex-guitar player of CHRISTIAN DEATH. And once again the artwork has been done by JOACHIM LUETKE, who is responsible for the album layouts of MARILYN MANSON and SOPOR AETERNUS amongst others. With “Atma Gyan” the band provide music for inspiration, contemplation and relaxation – a delicate spiritual experience.

Pilori Until the Day Dawn £8.58
Review
PILORI are back! Many years ago, the charismatic band from Seligenstadt, Germany established themselves across genres with their unique ethereal style of folk and cast a spell over gothic, neo-classical and neofolk audiences alike. With “Until The Day Dawn”, PILORI present the high point of their career so far. A complex work, steeped in dense atmospheres, catchy melodies, ritualistic rhythms, and above all the beautiful female vocals which have always placed the band in a league of their own. Acoustic elements are balanced out with some emphasis on electronic sounds and indeed “poppy passages” without ever being untrue to their own style. An ascent into the spheres of dreams, deliberately clouded by the frequencies of a world in decline. Ethereal, sacral romanticism meets dark nihilism. With elegiac viola melodies and sorrowful male vocals, one is reminded of the glory years of CURRENT 93. With clear-as-glass ethereal vocals, singer Marion reminds one of the bygone era of heavenly voices. But PILORI create their own world from the mysticism of nature and a sceptical questioning of the world around them.

With “Until The Day Dawn”, PILORI present the sum total of their career, performed with multilingual lyrics in German, English, French and Hebrew, and with melancholy guitar chords, lamentful strings, well-dispensed percussion and seductive keyboard melodies. From melancholy neofolk (“The Icononclast”) to neo-classical (“Fallen Angels’ Choir”), ritual music (“Last Wolf’s Howling”) up to 1980s new wave music (“Love’s Labours Lost”) innumerable influences can be found here. “Until The Day Dawn” finally proves PILORI’s unique status in the German alternative music scene.

Punto Omega Noche Oscura Del Alma £8.58
Review
The Argentinian electro-heroes PUNTO OMEGA celebrate the dark night of the soul. In tormentingly fatalistic songs, delivered in aggressive Spanish, they follow the path of those upon the eternal search for truth and freedom. This path is lined with crises, conflict, humiliation and manipulation. “Noche Oscura del Alma” (The Dark Night of the Soul) is the moment of the absolute nadir, from which one emerges strengthened. Only afterwards is one able to find one’s own true identity.

The music of the exotic dark electro duo is stamped through with this existentialism and deliberately confronts the gentle listener with a merciless strength: lashing, razor-sharp beats raining down, industrial-inspired noise, catchy keyboard passages and the demonic vocals create an unforgettable mixture which no fan of the genre will be able to resist. PUNTO OMEGA move between HOCICO und WUMPSCUT and the epic atmospherics of VNV NATION but yet offer more: a whole range of dancefloor-compatible hits and occasional hints of martial bombast and sinister atmospherics. Even neo-classical elements and acoustic guitars can be heard.

With their album “Noche Oscura del Alma” the new Latin American forerunners of hard electronic anthems set forth their dark philosophy, in which each true seeker may recognise themselves. Stirring electronics, every once in a while stamped with a dreadful coldness, but at the same time passionately and seductively monumental. A long yearned-for inferno, after which the rebirth will unquestionably follow.

The Girl and the Robot The Beauty of Decay £11.03
Review
“While I was in love I was the happiest man on earth; but no one can love who has not a heart.” (“The Wizard of Oz”)

The odyssey continues: earlier this year, THE GIRL & THE ROBOT set out in their quest to find love in our heartless society on their double feature single “Whole/Flowers”. Now they expand their mission. Like the Tinman desperately seeking his lost heart in the wonderful world of Oz, the debut album of Plastique and her Swedish Tinman Deadbeat has become a similar quest for warmth, love and passion.

In twelve timelessly beautiful, crystal-clear electro pearls, the gorgeous girl acts side-by-side with an intrinsically cold-hearted robot, causing him to produce anything but deadhearted or cold melodies with his sequencers. No wonder with a personified sin like Plastique by his side. Ethereal, enigmatic, bewitched and utterly succumbing, her voice instills a certain little something into the floating tracks, somewher between retro charm and urban chic. And when she sensually sighs the words “I will always love you until the end of time” in the last song, listeners and robots alike will have become highly addicted to her.

It is certainly difficult to succumb much earlier that this to the tantalizing spell of this unique project – in the driving rhythms of the opening track “Another Love”, a song effortlessly filling the gap between LADYTRON and CLIENT. This impeccable taste and style never leaves a surprisingly characteristic and independent debut release: glittering minimal drops, passionate synth soundscapes, gripping sequences, part dreamy, part stomping beats and a huge dose of yearning somewhere between COVENANT and RÖYKSOPP all become vocally ennobled by Plastique. This woman will melt even synthetic robot circuitries!

As with little Dorothy, who finds herself in the world of Oz after a cyclone, “The Beauty of Decay” marks the onset of a fantastic journey, leaving behind the daily routines and heading for a world in which even robots have hearts. And with the spherical electro dreams of THE GIRL & THE ROBOT, this world seems closer than ever before.

“The Beauty of Decay” comes as a multiply folded digipak containing all the lyrics as well as exclusive pictures capturing the songs’ wallowing eroticism.

Tying Tiffany Peoples Temple £11.03
Review
Exceptional musician, prestigious supermodel, revolutionary DJ, actress, venerated muse of countless artists… there is practically no end to the list of achievements of the Italian icon TYING TIFFANY. Right in the middle of provocative catwalk appearances for Diesel and similar designers, riotous live performances and the glamorous world of uncounted magazine covers, the posh artist has created her own unique and dazzling universe which she is about to expand even further with her new album “Peoples Temple”.

Nothing less than the resurrection of traditional goth music from the perspective of today’s decadent lifestyle lurks within TYING TIFFANY, a hot-blooded artist who is ignorant to attributes like ‘half-heartedness’ and lives out her urge of musical fulfillment as convincingly as very few artists before her. When TYING TIFFANY enters the scene with her musical visions, British goth godmother SIOUXSIE SIOUX comes to ones mind as inevitably as THE VELVET UNDERGROUND femme fatale Nico or Andy Warhol’s muse Edie Sedwick. The legendary spirit of early JOY DIVISION, paired with a boundless devotion to the melancholic monotony found in BAUHAUS and a powerful influence of rushing electroclash frame the ring in which the Italian gothic queen runs riot like a possessed sex symbol and in which she unleashes an energy painfully missed in most other contemporary female solo artists.

Be aware, though: there is a monstrously creative beast hiding behind those endless legs and the coquettishly twinkling eyes, a snarling fury which couldn’t be further away from high society’s expressionless girlies and which really has something to say. Tracks like the erupting “One Breath” or the biting opener “3 Circle” show TYING TIFFANY delivering a vocal tour de force that effortlessly competes with EMILIE AUTUMN in terms of intensity and charisma. The Victorian goth violinist and the dark-haired beauty TYING TIFFANY also share a dominant urge to self-fulfilment as well as an inborn sense for perfectionism that turns “Peoples Temple” into a modern goth manifest not to be missed, a release that creates something furiously original out of past day braveries and the possibilities of our modern world.

True to the roots of the genre, the irresistible goth vamp delivers a lesson in punkish attitude, revolutionary gusto and a lot of electronic reinforcement, strengthening her reputation as a truly exceptional artist of our time – as a legitimate SIOUXSIE SIOUX descendant and long-legged muse combined in one person whose interpretation of danceable, gripping goth tunes is among the most aesthetically convincing musical outputs this scene has witnessed for many years.

Wolfenmond Sagas £11.80
Review
Another beautiful release from Germany’s Trisol label, this latest opus from Wolfenmond comes direct from the Icelandic heartland – a place of infinite solitude, the rushing of waterfalls and the rustling wind through dark winter nights. This enviroment whispers of the ancient sagas of Iceland – water ghosts, invisible folk and ancients gods from a bygone time…

“Sagas” fuses modern instrumental sounds like thunder roaring through the skies on a 65 minute trip through mystical Iceland. “Sagas” comes presented in a fold-out A5 digipak in a precious slipcase stamped with golden foil. In addition to the album with 14 songs this set also includes a Bonus DVD of a live concert at the Musiktheater Kassel running to 138 minutes. Also includes is the music video for “Im Morgenrot” plus a collection of carefully chosen Bonus songs. All this is accompanied by a sumptuous 28 page booklet including all lyrics and beautiful illustrations of the Wolfenmond musician Pedro Aibéo.

Wolfenmond Neumond £7.69
Review
With each new creation there is that magical moment when the first pen-stroke is pulled across the parchment, the first drops moisten the mortar and the clocks are turned back. Each cycle of the moon also begins with darkness: the new moon (in German, ‘der Neumond’).

With their new work, the musicians from WOLFENMOND conclude all of the phases of the moon that we have experienced with them over the last ten years. The mixture of electronic sounds and historical instruments represents a new beginning with which they inaugurate a new cycle. The listener will be transfixed by the five titles appearing here: the title track “Neumond” comes across with the usual expressive lyrics and sounds of the shawm (a predecessor of the oboe), but also makes extensive use of electronic instrumentation, and spectacularly demonstrates the new path which WOLFENMOND propose to follow. But WOLFENMOND are not following these paths alone. Artists such as Ingo Hampf from SUBWAY TO SALLY, Nicholas Albanis from DANDELION WINE and Matthias Ambré from ASP, in addition to other high-calibre artists have picked up their idea and have combined WOLFENMOND pieces with electronic sounds. These fourteen musical creations make “Neumond” a total work of art.

Zeromancer Sinners International £9.29
Review
In the year 2000 ZEROMANCER glowed like the aurora borealis, but this was not their only similarity to that which glows in the cold northern sky. Powerful, mysterious, cool, fascinating and at the same time beautiful they conquered Europe. The title track of their debut album “Clone Your Lover” was not only released as a single, which gained prompt entry into the charts, but was surely the secret wish of many women (and men) upon sight of the lads because Alex and his gangexuded alongside a cool and irresistible rock attitude also a sex appeal the likes of which one hadn’t experienced in the music scene for a long time. Musically, with an impressive and energy-laden sound of their very own, they didn’t need to fear comparison with apparent rivals such as HIM, NIN or MARILYN MANSON.

And yet slowly ZEROMANCER’s shimmering northern light seemed to fade. With the two following albums they noticeably moved themselves onto the well-trodden path to the mainstream and disappeared into the monotony of everyday generic musical doodling, just as the light in the sky becomes covered by grey clouds.

But in 2009 the true ZEROMANCER are back! The northern light shines powerfully, having escaped from the standardised mush of the mainstream. The lads once more present powerful rock, just as they did on their first album. Some festival appearances have already shown the not-long-since extinct fans that ZEROMANCER have returned to form with their new songs and that they will by the same token shine in the future. On the long-awaited new album “Sinners International” they combine rousing guitar chords, hammering beats, unbelievably catchy hooklines and seductively striking vocals to form a compendium of potential hits that no-one will be able to pass by. Gone are the anodyne bleatings and the casting-couch boys so beloved of mothers-in-law! With their hit, “It Sounds Like Love (But it Looks Like Sex)” ZEROMANCER bring back that which gothic, electro and metal have been missing for many years. Sex and Rock’n’Roll, packed with energy, whose dark and yet energetic anthems will stir not just the underground. “Sinners International”: ‘filth noir’ with which ZEROMANCER will once more take not only the festival stages and dancefloors by storm but also the hearts of their female (and male) fans.

Zeromancer The Death of Romance £11.23
Review
Who would have dared to hope that there would ever again be an album which could unite melancholy sadness and with a rock sound in such an absolutely perfect and catchy fashion? This is an album which simply takes one’s breath away. So full of beauty, so full of melancholy and yet so full of unbridled rock power. With “Sinners International”, the lads from the north proved that they had once more recaptured the essence of their own debut. Radiant, vibrant and beguiling. Shimmering, fascinating and mysterious. “The Death of Romance” shines in the darkness like the aurora borealis. Back to the beginning and yet at the same time forward-looking. Dark romantic ballads with stunning hook lines in the form of driving, modern industrial rock.

ZEROMANCER are a new and perfect unity of sex, emotion and energy. Rock music is finally that which it always should have been. Unaffected and impressive, for girls and boys. On the one hand, with a tear in the eye, full of yearning; on the other going crazy for the pounding drums and loud electric guitars. Never has one needed to be so unembarrassed about one’s feelings as with this powerful romantic rock album. “The Death of Romance” is a flawless construction of sweat-inducing industrial rock with a large dollop of emotion.
