MINISTRY’s 2004 release “Houses of the Molé” received critical acclaim from both media and fans worldwide. “MiXXXes of the Molé” serves to pick up where Molé left off – each re-recorded, re-mixxxed and re-mastered track spicier than the last! “MiXXXes of The Molé” is destined for dancefloors all over the world with its punchy metal grooves and way-too-heavy bass lines!
“Peaceful Snow/The Maverick Chamber” is the new 7″ vinyl from DEATH IN JUNE. The two songs are the first new material to come to light since “The Rule of Thirds”, offering not only the same radical departure from more complex song arrangements as on the previous album, but this time also a departure from the use of acoustic guitar. Instead the instrument chosen to accompany Douglas P’s voice is the piano. “Kaltenberg MMX”,The brand new production by the ‘Kings of Minstrels’, features fifteen audio tracks plus bonus video material. With the Hamburg-based two-man project ZERO DEFECTS’ first single “Durability” (which featured the massive hit “Duracell”) the band managed to get their breakthrough with the outstanding album release “Non Recyclable”. Under the flag “Duracell” INFACTED now brings a massive ‘best of’ CD with all their major hits, some rare compilation tracks, and two never before released mixes!
MIDNIGHT CONFIGURATION have always defied categorisation, flouting musical and social conventions, going after their own vision and dancing to the beat of their own particular drum. “The Unquiet Void” is the distilled essence of what makes this band tick. It is a journey through the ideas and motivations of the band and takes the listener to some very dark places indeed.
One of the most iconic 80s pop bands, CULTURE CLUB racked up seven consecutive Top 10 hits in the UK and went on to score five Top 10 albums. “The Greatest Hits (Sight and Sound)” is a collection of all the hits, as well as all of the promo videos, a band interview and live performances on an accompanying DVD.

| Ministry | MiXXXes of the Molé | £14.75 | ||
![]() |
Review MINISTRY’s 2004 release “Houses of the Molé” got critical acclaim from both media and MINISTRY fans worldwide. Molé was also the first installment of Jourgensen’s political trilogy of terror toward the Bush administration and the Gulf War. As much as Molé’s title was a reference to LED ZEPPELIN’s “Houses of the Holy” and Jourgensen’s favorite Mexican sauce, it was surely no Southwestern rock’n’roll cookbook. “MiXXXes of the Molé”, however, serves to pick up where Molé left off – each re-recorded, re-mixxxed and re-mastered track spicier than the last! The fifth in a series of 13th Planet remix genre-bending ‘trance metal’ attacks, “MiXXXes of The Molé” is destined for dancefloors all over the world with its punchy metal grooves and way-too-heavy bass lines determined to mosh with the best of solar plexus in the country! Review ExtremOcidente proudly announces the imminent release of DEATH IN JUNE’s “Peaceful Snow/The Maverick Chamber” 7″ vinyl. The two songs are the first new material to come to light since “The Rule of Thirds”. These new tracks offer not only the same radical departure from more complex song arrangements as on the previous album but this time also a departure from the use of acoustic guitar. Instead the instrument chosen to accompany Douglas Pearce’s voice is the piano, played by Miro Snejder. Some might be tempted to say that this is a new direction for DEATH IN JUNE yet we have to disagree, as for almost 30 years this has been a ship that has maintained its course against all odds. This edition of the single is limited to 880 numbered copies and comes pressed on pink vinyl and housed on a cover with embossed lettering and a debossed foilblock Whiphand logo. The record comes with a lyric sheet/insert and three postcards. Act fast and Witness! Format Tracklisting Record Label Release Date Click here to order |

| Klaus Schulze | La Vie Electronique 7 | £17.25 | ||
![]() |
Review “Re: People I Know” is the first of the two long pieces that Klaus played during his Düsseldorf concert on the 30th of September 1977. It’s similar to the highly valued piece that KS played around the same time in Brussels’ St. Michaels cathedral. “Avec Arthur”: During the lengthy 1979 tour, Klaus played a long solo piece that filled the first half of the concerts as usual. After the intermission, the singer ARTHUR BROWN joined him for the second piece. This is one of those energetic second halfs. Arthur could be, and was often, very high-spirited, very good, even excellent. “Crazy Nietzsche” is loosely based on Klaus’ well-known “Friedrich Nietzsche” title from the “X” recording session. The four tracks that form “The Future” are from around 1978. A grave, full-sounding masterpiece. The music reminds of “Dune” but it is without the usual cello sound of this classic album. Hear Klaus on vocoder at the very end in “Just Imagine”. As KS remembered, the music of “My Virtual Principles” with its abstract but beautiful sounds was an alternative attempt at the “Barracuda” film soundtrack which wasn’t used then. And finally we have “Die Erde ist rund”, taped during the 1979 tour, the ‘encore’ to the concert given in the German town of Koblenz in October of that year. | Midnight Configuration | The Unquiet Void | £11.75
![]() |
Review MIDNIGHT CONFIGURATION have always defied categorisation. They have always flouted musical and social conventions, rather going after their own vision and dancing to the beat of their own particular drum. This album is the distilled essence of what makes this band tick. It is a journey through the ideas and motivations of the band and takes the listener to some very dark places indeed. In fact, at times, “the veil” between the worlds is somewhat thin and one wonders if the music is the magical catalyst that enables the transformation of our world to another …… it’s 3am, a souls’ midnight and the void of darkness and beyond is at its closest and is indeed “Unquiet”. | Mona Mur & En Esch | 120 Tage: The Fine Art of Beauty and Violence | £14.75
![]() |
Review MONA MUR and EN ESCH collaborate on Brecht/Weill numbers to create industrial bliss! MONA MUR, extravagant vocalist, composer and sound designer, gained a reputation on the international avantgarde scene by collaborating with artists such as EINSTUERZENDE NEUBAUTEN, THE STRANGLERS, YELLO and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. EN ESCH (formerly of KMFDM, production for PIGFACE), a legend in his own right, is the mastermind behind the industrial-rock outfit SLICK IDIOT. Together, the two create an eclectic blend of chanson, indie rock, and avantgarde darkwave. Their album features several Berthold Brecht/Kurt Weill classics, as well as guest appearances by FM Einheit of EINSTUERZENDE NEUBAUTEN and a special remix by STEVE MORELL. This special North American edition of “120 Tage” also features three bonus tracks not available on the German edition. It will be released to coincide with IO Interactive’s recently announced “Kane & Lynch 2™: Dog Days” video game, for which both Mur and Esch composed the soundtrack. | Steve Roach | Sigh of Ages | £14.25
![]() |
Review “Sigh of Ages” is the result of extended periods of solitude and personal reflection for acclaimed composer ROACH. Resulting directly from dynamic personal and cultural events, these pieces developed over time and in the moment. After ten months of early morning and late night sonic meditations, ROACH collected these various pieces together and found they portrayed a poetic theme of sonic interpretations from this experience. Sculpted and refined in the artist’s deft hands, the source material of life itself took on a voice that spoke from a deep emotional well of subtle contemplation. A sacred realm of inner reflection. While the passage of time and expansive breath is an ongoing theme for ROACH, the reflections and perceptions expressed on “Sigh of Ages” delve into a contrasted intimate space only accessed in times of solitude. It is the deeply-layered, subtley-nuanced emotional language which is the ongoing, unseen undercurrent of our lives. Format Tracklisting Record Label Release Date Click here to order |

| Collapse | In Despair | £13.75 | ||
![]() |
Review What future are we heading for? This is the troubling question is posed on COLLAPSE’s new album. The two members of of the band, Amadou Sall (former bassist of TREPONEM PAL) and Pierre Gutleben, have succeeded over the last few years in mixing electronic influences, industrial sounds, harsh guitar riffs, dark vocals and the use of ethnic samples to create a new crossover identity. Amadou has always punctuated his work with references to many cult movies such as “Logan’s run” and “Planet of the Apes”. Today it seems clear, that reality has caught up with fiction. But as if to ward off bad luck, the music of COLLAPSE sounds more futuristic than ever! Indeed, after the cold-wave tones of the previous album “Embryo”, new electro-industrial sounds have been incorporated, and while “Embryo” was haunted by the ghost of JOY DIVISION, now it is rather the shadow of VNV NATION (“Judgement”-era) that hangs over “In Despair”. Resolutely turned towards the future, the new album picks up the key elements of previous accomplishments with increasingly fluid vocals and even more direct melodies than ever. The music of COLLAPSE continues to evolve, without denying its strength and its uniqueness. At a time when the survivors of the first wave of French industrial rock can be counted on the fingers of one hand, it is good to see that this band is among those who have never given up, and continue to renew themselves without losing inspiration. Eleven bombastic tracks for the dancefloor that you will remember for a long time! Format Tracklisting Record Label Release Date Click here to order |

| Orchestra Noir | What If… | £16.75 | ||
![]() |
Review This is the first full-length album from Tony Wakeford’s new-look ORCHESTRA NOIR since its resurrection as a London-based project, with a move away from the martial and towards musicians and compositions more based on chamber and early music. This collaboration started in 2006 between Wakeford, CURRENT 93 contributor Richard Moult and acclaimed oboist Mark Baigent, and the project quickly flourished. Acclaimed early music violinists and viola players, Ben Sansom and Alexandria Lawrence also became involved. With the addition of SOL INVICTUS percussionist M and flautist Guy Harries, a synthesis of the experimental and traditional took place, with unhealthy dollops of Edwardian dark whimsy, humor and satire. Aided by the folky voice of Autumn Grieve and the Jazz improvisation of Jessica Constable, an intriguing new direction had begun… Format Tracklisting Record Label Release Date Click here to order |

| Weep | Worn Thin | £14.25 | ||
![]() |
Review “Worn Thin”, the first full-length from New York’s WEEP, takes their aggressive and firmly pop-structured songs to a place of heightened grandeur. Sweeping choruses, horn-driven verses, and lush production work seamlessly with WEEP’s guitar and drum-driven sound. At times the listener is reminded of “The Head on the Door”-era CURE enjoying the strange bedfellow of CATHERINE WHEEL or PLACEBO. WEEP’s pilot, Doc Hammer (incidentally the same Doc Hammer who co-created Cartoon Network’s The Venture Bros.), brings his uniquely raspy vocals to the front on this release creating a bizarre but not unfamiliar kind of New Dark Pop. On “Worn Thin”, WEEP maintains their hard edge and generate a sound filled with loosely-bridled emotions and powerful rhythms. Doc explains: “This is the record we wanted to make. It’s almost like a reactionary antidote to what we’re sick of in music. That dry, low-tech production of the past ten years is tiring. It’s in its footy pajamas, and it needs to take a nap. We wanted something lush and dramatic for the songs on ‘Worn Thin’. They usually relegate that kinda over-the-top production to LADY GAGA. But believe me, it works really well with a messy little band like WEEP.” The album also features cover versions of “Right Here, Right Now” by JESUS JONES and “Shut Up and Drive” by RIHANNA. | Merciful Nuns | Body of Light EP | £13.00
![]() |
Review Only a very short time after the release of their highly successful debut album “Lib. 1”, GARDEN OF DELIGHT’s only legitimate successor follow up with the “Body of Light” EP, seamlessly continuing where the debut album left off. MERCIFUL NUNS epitomise the goth genre more than most bands over the last decade and it can be said without a hint of exaggeration that here we finally find music that lives up to the expectations raised by the Sisters of Mercy’s “First and Last and Always”. The songwriting and production, despite the apparent retro influences sound refreshingly contemporary and prove that Gothic 2010 does not have to sound antiquated or out of date. Songs like “Body of Light” and “Morphine Queen” are gloomy goth anthems par excellence and convey the feeling of a new dawn rising over musical shores which, it is hoped, will not only attract the generations of yesteryear but also find favour amongst those enthusiasts of dark and gloomy melodies who thus far perceive gothic as a purely electronic genre. This limited six-panel digipak edition is strictly limited to 2000 copies. Format Tracklisting Record Label Release Date Click here to order |

| Dead When I Found Her | Harm’s Way | £13.50 | ||
![]() |
Review DEAD WHEN I FOUND HER is the studio project of Portland, Oregon’s Michael Arthur Holloway, a professional electronic musician and producer who sites SKINNY PUPPY, HAUJOBB, MENTALLO & THE FIXER, FORMA TADRE and DOUBTING THOMAS amongst other pioneering industrial artists as influences. Tracks from the debut album “Harm’s Way” have been the talk of music forums since they started to appear on MySpace and Soundcloud in 2009, and the attention the project has received is nothing short of impressive. A home was soon found on Artoffact Records, and twelve tracks were selected for the debut release. DEAD WHEN I FOUND HER re-creates classic late 80s/early 90s industrial without sounding clichéd, adding a modernized sonic signature to a dark and brooding foundation. “Harm’s Way” is the perfect album for dark music lovers… Format Tracklisting Record Label Release Date Click here to order |

| Project Pitchfork | Continuum Ride | £13.75 | ||
![]() |
Review “Dream, Tiresias!” was only the beginning. A serious shot across the bow for all those who already saw PROJECT PITCHFORK heading for an early retirement. In 2010, Peter Spilles takes off the gloves and gets down to business: little more than a year after his impressive comeback success, the dark electro pioneer prepares for the mightiest strike so far. Seemingly out of nothing, PROJECT PITCHFORK fire “Continuum Ride” out of their orbit, an album even a genius like Spilles was unlikely to make. Hold on tight when the living electro legends takes off to a wild ride through the space-time continuum, to a journey through the cosmos of their own past, present and future. Instead of relying on old habits and the reverse gear, the oiled Pitchfork machine even shifts up a gear or two and refines the unique sound of their early masterpieces with a surprisingly modern diversity of ideas and a talent for big emotions that will transform every fervent worshipper of the pre “Timekiller” era into sheer rapture. Tears of joy guaranteed. Behind the stainless and admirably atmospheric production, “Continuum Ride” offers shelter for tormented souls and a hideaway for all those plagued by soulless electro commandos. “Beholder” with its smartly marching beats and its synth virtuosity, the hypnotizing hookline in “Dead Cities”, a gripping salute to their own past, or the monumental “Way of the World” which will be defining the whole scene from now on: this infernally intense electro trip makes you instantly forget time and space. More monumental, more epic and more atmospheric than it is impossible to imagine. The scene has a new reference point – and PROJECT PITCHFORK again sit on the throne. Long live the king! The ‘standard’ issue of this release comes in a six-panel digipak with a 28-page booklet. Format Tracklisting Record Label Release Date Click here to order |

| Ashbury Heights | Origins | £13.75 | ||
![]() |
Review Every saga has a beginning! Back in 2007, ASHBURY HEIGHTS emerged like a shooting star out of nowhere onto the synthpop scene. On their lively and anthemic debut “Three Cheers for the Newlydeads”, the young Swedish duo fused the super-cool catchiness of the 80s with a solid dose of disco-pep, teenage angst and rebellious attitude to create one of the most interesting works of contemporary electronic pop music of recent years. On their second mini-album “Morningstar in a Black Car”, released one year later, ASHBURY HEIGHTS spiced up their trademark sound with a more mature note and thus established themselves as one of the most important acts of the new electro-pop-wave. Coinciding with the release of their new long player “Take Cair Paramour”, the anthology “Origins” combines both previous releases with one unreleased bonus song on two CDs. | Shiv-r | Hold My Hand [Japanese Limited Edition] | £16.50
![]() |
Review Already known in Japan for their remixes of BLOOD and GPKISM, Australian duo SHIV-R are a new force in the field of dark electronic music. DWA’s Japanese Limited Edition of the debut album “Hold My Hand” features four previously unreleased exclusive bonus tracks, including specially commissioned remixes from DWA/Infacted labelmates XP8, REAPER and SOMAN, as well as the original track “Clear Thoughts”. SHIV-R’s work is defined by haunting, neo-classical melodies fused with harsh percussive club sounds and eerie synth textures: ‘industrial analogue darkness’! In contrast to the distorted vocals favoured by many dark electro acts, SHIV-R employ clean and powerful male vocals reminiscent of KILLING JOKE, delivered in shouts and whispers. The dark and unsettling atmosphere generated by the band is at times intended for clubs, and at times drawn out at a slow, grinding pace for full dramatic impact. Although “Hold My Hand” is a debut album, the two members of the band have in fact been actively collaborating with each other on music for almost ten years and have already built up an impressive discography prior to starting SHIV-R. Lee Bulig’s previous projects include STARK and NEON WOMB, while Pete Crane was behind THE CRYSTALLINE EFFECT and PLAGUE SEQUENCE. Additionally, though still a new artist, SHIV-R’s powerful production style has already led to heavy demand for their remixing skills. Their most recent remixes include X-DIVIDE, XP8 and UNTER NULL. The first 100 units of the Japanese Limited Edition are presented in six-panel digipak format, with artwork redesigned by DWA from the stunning photography of Matthew Burgess and original designs of renowned industrial music graphic artist UserDX. | Menschdefekt | The Human Parasite [Japanese Limited Edition] | £16.50
![]() |
Review Already familiar to followers of DWA from their remix of AESTHETIC PERFECTION’s “Schadenfreude”, MENSCHDEFEKT are the new European messiahs of harsh EBM. Their official debut “The Human Parasite” is a strong contender for harsh EBM album of the year: relentlessly brutal beats and violently distorted vocals, mastered by the legendary Jan L of NOISUF-X/X-FUSION. On the artwork front, MENSCHDEFEKT’s savage vision of a parasitic human society is perfectly illustrated by top industrial designer UserDX (HOCICO, SOMAN, ICON OF COIL, GRENDEL). First started as a solo project by German programmer Dominik R, MENSCHDEFEKT self-released several instrumental albums before winning a remix competition for AESTHETIC PERFECTION in 2008, after which MENSCHDEFEKT’s public profile swiftly soared. In 2009 MENSCHDEFEKT became a duo, with the addition of Swedish vocalist and lyricist Fredrik C. The track “Stalingrad” was soon featured on the popular compilations “Interbreeding X” (BLC Productions) and “Endzeit Bunkertracks: Act IV” (Alfa Matrix), and quickly began to receive heavy club play around the world, bringing MENSCHDEFEKT to the attention of both DWA and Infacted Recordings, who released the European version of this album. In addition to twelve tracks taken from the standard European and US editions, DWA’s Japanese Limited Edition of “The Human Parasite” also features specially-commissioned remixes from ACYLUM, FGFC820, C-LEKKTOR, and ES23 making an incredible value 79-minute CD. The first 100 copies of DWA’s Japanese Limited Edition come in collector’s six-panel digipak redesigned from UserDX’s original artwork. | Noisuf-X | Excessive Exposure [Japanese Limited Edition] | £16.50
![]() |
Review “Excessive Exposure” is the brilliant and punchy new album from one of the best and biggest acts on the industrial scene today: NOISUF-X. Starting in 2005 with the debut album “Antipode”, NOISUF-X began as a side-project of the EBM act X-FUSION, but over the last five years the project has emerged as a powerful musical force in its own right, with the aggressive albums “The Beauty Of Destruction” (2007) and most recently “Voodoo Ritual” (2009). Over the past few years, NOISUF-X have appeared live at many of the largest industrial and alternative music festivals all over the world, including Amphi (Germany), Infest (UK), Necropolis (Mexico), Kinetik (Canada), Dark Area (Germany), Gothic (Belgium), Summer Darkness (Netherlands), alongside acts such as COMBICHRIST, KMFDM, VNV NATION, AND ONE and DIARY OF DREAMS. In 2010, NOISUF-X will appear at the DV8 Festival (UK) and Castle Party (Poland). Jan’s production skills as an audio engineer are among the most sought-after in the industrial scene: his resume makes impressive reading, having mixed and mastered multiple albums by SUICIDE COMMANDO, ALIEN VAMPIRES and C-LEKKTOR, and mastered countless albums including HEIMATAERDE, SAM, [:SITD:], XOTOX and X MARKS THE PEDWALK. For DWA alone, Jan has mastered the “Infacted Asia” compilation, C-LEKKTOR’s “Tendencias Suicidas”, CEDIGEST’s “Falling in the Spirit”, MENSCHDEFEKT’s “The Human Parasite”, FREAKANGEL’s “The Faults of Humanity” and the bonus tracks for AESTHETIC PERFECTION’s “A Violent Emotion” and GRENDEL’s “Chemicals + Circuitry”. Under the NOISUF-X name, Jan has also produced a huge number of remixes for acts such as UNTER NULL, SOMAN, SIVA SIX, NACHTMAHR, PROJECT PITCHFORK and SUICIDE COMMANDO. The Japanese Limited Edition release of “Excessive Exposure” includes two bonus tracks taken from the ProNoize European 2CD boxset, featuring lyrics and guest vocals from fellow industrial scene legends Johan van Roy (SUICIDE COMMANDO) and Peter Spilles (PROJECT PITCHFORK). The first 100 units only are presented in a six-panel digipak format, with artwork redesigned by DWA from Jan’s own original designs. The red and grey colour-scheme has been replaced with a cold blue, reflecting the album title! The redesigned booklet includes lyrics from the bonus tracks, also written by Peter Spilles and Johan van Roy. Format Tracklisting Record Label Release Date Click here to order |

| In My Rosary | Retro | £14.50 | ||

Review With “Retro”, IN MY ROSARY close the circle, eighteen years after their formation. Having tried all possible variations on their IMR concept in the past, Ralf Jesek and Dirk Lakomy now return to their origins with this album. “Pathetically speaking, and after trying out the boundaries of our concept, it was simply time to turn back to our ‘radical’ roots. No compromises!” IMR thus returned to their original way of working: all the demos were written with only vocals, guitars and a four-track recorder – and this ‘stipped down’ concept can also be found on the final recordings, on which the band limited their equiment to a stereo-rhythm machine, two keyboards and a few guitars. “Retro” is therefore the result of an experiment, a ‘looking back to our roots’ for IMR. Another novelty is the fact that on this album the two musicians worked with a large number of guests including SARA NOXX, CHRISTIAN DOERGE and STAN_I (from the Russian gothic band STILLIFE) on vocals, while the English psychpop guru PAUL ROLAND honoured the band with his first ever guitar solo. Other guests are Marlene Wagner of LAKOBEIL, Wolfgang Koch of the German goth rockers TORS OF DARTMOOR, Tobias Birkenbeil (ex-DRACUL) and Martin von Arndt of the German avantgarde/goth legends PRINTED AT BISMARCK’S DEATH. With “Retro”, IN MY ROSARY display a lot of courage and deliver probably the most varied and interesting album thus far in their eighteen years of history! Review Recorded during the band’s 2009 sell-out UK tour on April 30 at the legendary Roundhouse in London. The “Return to Eden” tour was the first time that the classic ULTRAVOX line-up of Midge Ure, Billy Currie, Criss Cross and Warren Cann had performed together in over two decades, and was followed by a highly successful European and festival tour that ran through the summer and into the autumn. Following the success of last year’s live schedule and the accompanying ‘Best Of’ release, ULTRAVOX look forward to another exciting live year in 2010, and also release the much anticipated live album and DVD of “Return to Eden – Live at the Roundhouse”. Review The masters of melding electro, metal and trance in a brilliant hard-electronic cocktail return after their huge successes with MCD “Nuns are Pregnant”, full-length albums “Evil Generation”, and “No One Here Gets Out Alive” – all of which have been grabbed up by the rabid fans who demonstrate an almost cult-like devotion to the iconoclastic ALIEN VAMPIRES. Never shying away from confrontation, the Italy-UK duo has dished up a new full-length entitled “F*ck Off and Die” – so put the kids to bed, at least if you intend to say the name of the album out loud! Nearly 80 minutes of raging, raving, inescapable audio pleasure as only ALIEN VAMPIRES can deliver it. Featuring a killer remix by NOISUF-X, and a special guest appearance on vocals by the legendary SUICIDE COMMANDO, this album is a ‘must have’ if ever there was one. Expect it to sell out – and fast! Review What began as a mutual correspondence turned into an immediate respect and eventually a sickness and obsession that resulted in this album. The two artists, NORDVARGR who hails from the depths of Sweden’s wintered wastelands, and SURACHAI from the frozen concrete jungles of Chicago, explored new sonic territory and claimed them as their own. Their shared knowledge of process and inspiration gave way to a smothering environment populated by long shadows and empty cities. While others sleep and hibernate, the one’s haunting dreams weave on the sunless winter days. Special limited numbered edition of 300 copies. Review Imagine a CD compilation based on one central theme, filled with only exclusive tracks and featuring bands of all types – famous, unsigned, infamous, newcomers. That is precisely the concept Machineries of Joy applied in 2006 when releasing the highly praised (now deleted) “Hymns of Steel” compilation. As a follow up to this unique concept, the listener is now immersed into a sleazy world, loaded with SM and slavery, pain and perversity, seedy fantasies and p*rnography… Welcome to the “Hymns of Sex”! The CD presents a solid set of 19 bands from the US over Portugal to Norway, offering you a glimpse into their wildest, most sexxual fantasies and ‘aural’ excesses. Prepare to get dragged into a broad range of alternative electronics from 80s typed new wave and modern EBM to advanced electronics. Nothing seems to make this erotic story ‘cum’ to an end. Get set and let your wildest fantasies loose on this sexy marvel, where the obvious ‘Parental Advisory’ tags no longer seem to have any effect. Review The most promising Swedish electro pop newcomers return! On “Take Cair Paramour”, ASHBURY HEIGHTS shine with a distinctly matured vision of the ‘New Wave 2.0’ sound. The duo spices up those breezy beats and melodies that defined 80s electronic pop music with a lot of timely low end ‘oomph’, a pinch of fucked-up zeitgeist, the androgynous sex-appeal of Bowie and his lot and a healthy dose of teenage angst and rebellion, graced with a compact and airtight mix by sound wizard John Fryer. “Take Cair Paramour” has become a feast of catchy tunes with elaborate arrangements, thrilling male/female alternations and a perfect balance of pathos and pop. The two Swedes do not write mere songs – ASHBURY HEIGHTS are writing anthems! The first pressing comes with a bonus disc that contains exclusive, unreleased songs, alternative versions and remixes. Review The rarities of the electronic pioneer KLAUS SCHULZE were previously released in a strictly limited edition, called “The Ultimate Edition” and document the history and the rich diversity of this exceptional musician, even more impressive than on his official releases. These recordings – now completely remastered – are being reissued in a series of elaborate editions, each containing three CDs in a high-quality digipak, including a booklet with detailed background information and comments. “La Vie Electonique” volume 5 contains recordings from the years from 1976 to 1977. “Berlin Schöneberg” was recorded in 1976 at a Berlin radio concert, “Vie de Rêve” is a concert from the same year, recorded in Reims in France. “Nostalgic Echo” and “Titanische Tage” are solo concerts from 1976. A year later “For Barry Graves” was recorded – a short concert for the West German radio broadcasting show Music Extra 3. “The Oberhausen Tape” is a concert from 1976 (the second part of this concert is on “La Vie Electronique 6”). Disc 1 contains the second part of the Oberhausen concert featured on “La Vie Electronique 5”, plus the two solo pieces “Schwaensee” which were recorded in 1976 in the studio in Hambühren. “Fear at Madame Tussaud’s” was recorded in April, 1977 in the London planetarium – at that time a novelty, for it was the first time that a concert had been held in a planetarium. “Zeitgeist” is a concert which was recorded on October 17Th, 1977 in front of 5500 people in the Cathedral of Saint Michael in Brussels. “Inside The Harlequin” is the encore of this evening. The recording date of “La Vie Secrète” cannot be exactly determined any more. Recorded either in 1977/78 or 1975 this piece remains a very quiet, almost meditative jewel. In contrast to this stands “Barracuda Drum”, recorded around 1978 with Harald Grosskopf on drums. Last but not least at the end of the third CD we encounter the KLAUS SCHULZE of 1979: in October and November of that year Schulze was on tour with ARTHUR BROWN. “There Was Greatness in the Room” is a fragment of the encore of a concert from October 29th 1979 in Brussels. The specific thing about this recording: beside the voice of ARTHUR BROWN the vocoder-voice of KLAUS SCHULZE is also to be heard… Format Tracklisting Disc 2:- Disc 3:- Record Label Release Date Click here to order |

| Kirlian Camera | Not of This World | £23.50 | ||

Review It is most unnecessary to speak about KIRLIAN CAMERA’s standing within the gothic scene. For an impressive three decades now, the Italian project has delivered somber electronic sound odysseys far removed from any current pattern or trends. Always deeply atmospheric, always unique, always characteristic: from the legendary mini album “Kirlian Camera” (1981) to their most recent studio work “Coroner’s Sun” (2006) and the ultimate compendium “Odyssey Europa” (2010), an artistic vision somewhere between epic otherworldly darkness and passionate emotion has always marked the centre of this band. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of this influential legend, “Not of This World” celebrates this event with the most thorough retrospective so far, fulfilling every fan’s wish and answering every unasked question concerning the band’s eventful career. An impressive array of 35 tracks stretches out across three CDs, assembling lots of previously unreleased tracks, long-forgotten gems, rare live versions and sought-after remixes into the most comprehensive compilation of its kind. Regular ‘best of’ releases do not even come near this brimful treasure chest. Sounds “Not of This World”: From Angelo Bergamini’s first experimental attempts in the eighties, when he created sheer electronic wonders despite the restricted technological possibilities, to the still current era with the long-legged vocal talent Elena Fossi by his side, this triple box set consistently traces a pathway that often made the band somewhat controversial, but which sprang from the most urgent will of artistic realization. The easy way was never an option for KIRLIAN CAMERA – and “Not of This World” proves just how thankful electronic music should be for that. Clothed in a DVD-sized digipak with a numbered case and precious silver hotfoil printing, the extensive booklet also lives up to the standard set by this overflowing release, offering uncountable previously unreleased pictures printed on exquisite paper. Founded by the highly explosive duo Joel Meyer and Daniel Meyer, the industrial project SAM has so far released two highly successful albums in 2006 and 2008 and have also established a reputation as an excellent live act. Review THAT’S IT! AD:keY have recorded a new album! The community of fate united both privately and artistically has created a new CD featuring the familiar noisy and EBM-oriented sound. “That’s It!” is the logical continuation of the previous album “Thema Nummer Eins” and creates another mix of the typical ARMAGEDON DILDOS sound combined with song-oriented structures and provoking texts, partly in English and partly in German, all spat outin a refreshingly bold manner. In addition to the twelve new songs, there are also another four remixes on the CD, including one by AGONOIZE. Die-hard old school Tremorians, however, should give the cold shoulder to that remix. So what? The album may be polarizing – but at least it takes it to the extremes. To sum it up: with “That’s It!”, Mr and Mrs Nowotny provide the masses with electronic food, the stuff that the world’s dance floor hooligans crave for. | Das Praparat | Unschuldsblicke | £12.00

Review The project DAS PRÄPARAT was given life by Dr Hyde in 2001. With the album “THX LD50” they proved their intention to develop along a different path from their beginning with WELLE:ERDBALL. The new album “Unschuldsblicke” impressively demonstrates the project’s maturation into a distinct style, sticking to the combination of electro and classic piano themes but also adding further elements of cabaret and jazz. With “Unschuldsblicke” DAS PRÄPARAT deliver a very multi-faceted record. Containing lyrics about paedophilia and fear the album is dedicated to the sorrows of childhood. Furthermore it is intended to critize the social misbalance of our time. Men ought to be provoked to rethink. The protagonists skillfully manage to be shortlasting and open-minded. Alongside the previously known mixtures of various musical styles, special attention has been directed towards recording quality and diversity of sound. Topping off the album is the extraordinary remix of “Mondscheinkind” with hard-rocking guitar riffs, as well as pieces like “Du Störst” which break away from stylistic limitations of acoustic guitars. DAS PRÄPARAT know how to reinvent themselves repeatedly, musically as well as visually. Thus, the audience will be led to ecstasy again during their next live shows. Review As the first in a series of retrospective compilations, THRILL KILL KULT have revisited their early ‘industrial’ roots, and have masterfully breathed new life into twelve of the most definitive TKK tracks from the band’s Wax Trax Records era. The CD also includes a previously unreleased track from that time called “Satana Rising”. Why remix such classics as “And This Is What the Devil Does” or “Kooler Than Jesus”? (to mention just two of their biggest hits). Think of it as TKK in a new, aural 3D-version… Or better yet – 4D, or beyond! From the call for drugs in “A Daisy Chain 4 Satan”, to the chants of Christian Zombie Vampires in “The Days of Swine and Roses”, every nuance is clearer, every drum beat pumps harder, and every sinister whisper speaks louder to your mind, body and soul. “It was like visiting old friends after 20 years by remixing those songs”, says producer Buzz McCoy. “And it was nice to finally add some sonic sparkle to those dusty, old tracks!” Tread where Angels fear to go!
