AARDIA – 'Conquest Of The Ancient Halls' CD (Waerloga) – £11 / £12 / £13

This amazing debut from Aardia is dark and epic, evoking a time long since passed, a gothic and fantasy film score, or neoclassical interpretation of grand mysterious poetry; you decide. Aardia are influenced by the middle ages, dark fantasy, horror films, classical orchestral music and inspired by such as Lovecraft, Tolkien, Valiant, Boris and composers Orff, Morricone and Frizzi. You can hear the influences and the inspiration in the music on "Conquest Of The Ancient Halls". This album is both powerful and beautiful at once. Swedish trio Aardia created a dark, epic, beautiful, haunting and strong fantasy music album. Mastered by Simon Kölle (Za Frûmi, Abnocto). Digipak.

DRUGZILLA – 'Siamaes Beashts' CD (Human Jigsaw Records) – £14 / £15 / £16

Drugzilla, from the wild west of Ireland, formed in 2007 and quickly became one of the biggest names in the extreme electronic music scene. Crossing a dark sense of Irish humour with full on speedcore beats and evil sounding trance rhythms mashed with total power electronics chaos. Features guest appearances from Ken Sorceron (Aborted) Alex Boniwell (Leech Woman) and Peter Ganley (i104FM). Mastered by Russ Russell (Napalm Death / The Berzerker), with artwork by Mories (Gnaw Their Tongues). Reissue of the limited CDR from 2010 with slipcase. Catch Drugzilla on tour this May with Anaal Nathrakh.

KLINIKAL SKUM – 'Chosen Powerless' CD (Expectorant Recordings) – £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50

Rabid paranoia placed under the restraint of heavy medication. The withdrawn sounds of a ruined mind, slowly marching towards the imminent end. Is the objective to reintegrate or assimilate? Included here are five treatments involving a decisive pathology of analogue synthesizer and corroded electronic devices, simultaneously subdued and unsettling in their inflicted balance of tone and texture. Patient development leads to gradual debilitation, providing deep results. With a heavy nod to the Slaughter Productions approach to morbid electronics, this is diseased death industrial from Ryan Oppermann (Redrot, Neuntöter Der Plage etc). Ltd x 500 copies.

MANIA – 'Armed To The Teeth' CD (PACrec / Troniks) – £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50

Mania is Keith Brewer (Taint, Sonic Sadist etc). Mania seems to be almost wholly focused on distilling violence, warfare, murder, and, more than anything else, the brutal power of firearms into blasts of twisted, ultraviolent Power Electronics. The sound isn't all that far removed from Taint, but on the new full length, single-track disc that's slapped with the threatening title "Armed To The Teeth", Brewer lays a 35 minute track of scorching distortion, clanging metal percussion, harsh vocals that are treated with an overload of psychedelic effects and screeching, punishing waves of feedback that is then cut with interludes of recordings captured from weapons training presentations, shootings, and firing ranges. It's a weird mix of sounds, but if you've got a rotten tooth for this kind of grating speaker perversion, Mania brings it really harsh. File this next to TEF, The Rita, MSBR, Cherry Point, Macronympha, etc. Harsh! Card slip.

PEPE WISMEER – 'Musi' LP (Equation Records) – £18 / £21 / £24

Pepe Wismeer is a duo from the Champagne-Ardennes region of France, who have been making their own unique brand of music since 1999. The music on this LP moves with patient strides, sometimes swelling to sudden crescendos, accompanied by electronic scrapes and coughs. A slightly damaged, spare, chamber folk-psych, whose distant cousins can be found in the darkly tender moments infused in early Psychic TV / Current 93 / Coil, or in the atmospheric postures of Antony & the Johnsons. The music is mainly structured around piano and voice accompanied by electric-acoustic guitar, bass, concrete sounds, samples, sitar, metallophone… sheep, birds, water and glass. All music was recorded on analogue equipment to add warmth to the icy atmospheres. Ltd x 100 hand-numbered copies with insert.

All LP / 12" Vinyl

REDUCTIO AD ABSURDUM – 'Sovmehkastratsiya' CD (Provoloka) – £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50

Reductio Ad Absurdum is one of the most interesting and original noise projects emerged from the post-Soviet Russia. "Sovmehkastratsiya" was released on a cassette in 1996 by Ultra as a limited edition of 30 copies. After almost 15 years this album is now available on CD with an additional bonus track taken from the "Zvukoterror" compilation (Ultra, 1996). The musical on this album won't leave untouched the lovers of old school analogue noise, combining the noisy trance of Noizeclot, the aesthetics of Dog As Master's "Conduit" period, the inclination to rhythms of early Esplendor Geometrico. Ltd x 375 copies in a card slip.

TSCHERNOBLYAD – 'Love' CD (Linija Shuma) – £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50

Reissue of the extremely limited 2005 CDR/tape release from this Russian Power Electronics / Noise unit, hailing from St Petersburg. Tschernoblyad is Danil Dashkevich (YAO 01404 D, Anti-Verstand etc). The record is devoted to the praise of nothingness and death in any form. Non-stop sonic violence, lo-fi power electronics and controversial samples. Comes with a bonus track 'Live For Saturn' and new artwork. Ltd x 454 copies.

'The Sound Of Black Cloggs' CD (Tesco USA) – £11.50 / £12.50 / £13.50

Recorded at the God Blast America! festival in New York, September 2002, "The Sound of Black Cloggs" captures the first live performance of Bocksholm, the industrial collaboration between Peter Andersson (Raison D'etre) and Lina Baby Doll (Deutsch Nepal). In their 2nd full-length release, the Dionysian duo stamp out two new songs plus live versions of tracks from their debut CD "Excursions By The Bank Of The Black River". The result is over 46 minutes of angst-filled ambience, noises, vocals and rhythms wrought from the sounds and memories of growing up in the Swedish industrial town of Boxholm and its surrounding ironworks. Mastered by Peter Andersson and comes in a digipak.

GATE TO VOID – 'Black Empty Void' CD (Section XIII COMA) – £11 / £12 / £13

A passage towards the realms of Darkness and Death, through the soundless echoes of Insanity, crushing the shell which binds the fragile human anatomy to Life. III rites that invoke endless pain and suffering, to drown the consciousness of this illusory existence, into the depths of nothingness. Black Ambient / Deathscapes. Ltd x 200 hand-numbered copies in a slimline DVD case with insert.

KE/HIL – 'Hellstation' CD (Tesco Organisation) – £12 / £13 / £14

After a year of recording and production, one improvised gig at the Genocide Organ concert in Leipzig 2010 and finally the first official live appearance at Mannheim in October 2010. Ke/Hil offer their debut album. B.Moloch and W.Herich (both active in Genocide Organ and Anenzephalia), joined forces and started working on a more personal concept. The result is a dark oppressive work, stretching their personal limits, working with what surrounds them. A display of a worldview that only seems to see hope in escapism or cynicism. Musically old school industrial music in its full range, from Power Electronics to Dark Ambient tracks. Digipak.

KLAMMHEIM – 'Heimwarts' CD (Heimatfolk) – £11 / £12 / £13

Klammheim's debut is a collection of melancholic, soft-spoken and acoustic folk songs that occasionally reveal Klammheim's roots in heaver, rockier sounds. All vocals are sung in lead singer Dea's Styrian (Austrian) dialect, and to augment the band's line-up of guitars, accordion and percussion are guest musicians such as Thomas Bøjden (Die Weisse Rose) and Benjamin Sperling (Jännerwein). The album is based around the longing for the Heimat, the mythical homeland of German romantics and nostalgia for youth. Housed in a lavish digipak with 16-page booklet.

MUSLIMGAUZE – 'Damascus' 2 x LP (Staalplaat) – £26 / £30 / £34

PHASE II – 'Afterglow' CD (Ahnstern) – £11 / £12 / £13

It has been a little over 32 since the inception and all-too-brief life span of Phase II, the prog-folk band founded by Mark Andrews (Blue Grass) and Nicholas Tesluk (Changes). "Afterglow" introduces modern listeners to Phase II's unique and timeless mixture of varied musical styles. Included in this expansive release are 6 songs from their original repertoire, all recorded here for the very first time. As a special reprise, all songs from their only release (a long out of print 7" blue vinyl) have been enhanced and included on the album. To bring things full-circle, Phase II is also proud to present a recording of its first all-new song of the 21st century on this CD. The 69 minute album concludes with "Candle in the Night", their complete pre-progressive, conceptual radio program from 1978. Digipak with booklet featuring full lyrics, as well as an anecdotal history of the band in text and photos.

TETHRIPPON – 'Tethrippon' CD (Ahnstern) – £11 / £12 / £13

Tethrippon is the chariot of Apollon Hellenic God of light. Burning like the desire of a proud man for universal harmony and beauty, it rides eternally the skies. Those who are not blinded by arrogance or the ultimate light can verify the gentle meaning of our hymns and their noble purpose. Tethrippon's composition and poetry bring warmth to civilized and delicate hearts and a nostalgia for what is missing from a romantic man's internal search for an ideal world. Inspired by "Hellenic learning" and dedicated to the holy memory of our glorious forefathers. Rest in peace in the eternal skies! All lyrics are sung in Old-Greek, a language that died out 2300 years ago! A new power for the Martial generation – the essence of Dernière Volonté, Triarii and early Dead Can Dance! Digipak.

TROUM – 'Ljubimaya / Daur' CD (Abgurd) – £10.50 / £11.50 / £12.50

Reissue of two 10" from the years 1998 and 2003. "Daur" (was the very first release of Troum (Ltd x 300, Cohort Records) and it presents very post-rock sounding material with a lot of decipherable guitar parts and a good drive. "Ljubimaya" was released by the Russian label Waystyx (Ltd x 455) and carries you towards a lyrical and touchy eternity of ever-beginning melodies without an end, into the emptiness of existence with all the uterine roar provided by Yen Pox on one of the tracks. The cover features psychedelic image manipulations by Dmitri Chistov (Hum). Ltd x 500 copies.
