Sounds very generic, but eh,I'd have to listen to it first.
Cruxshadows is the worst goth band in the world! Don't believe the hype, they are awful! the lead singer is a whiny moaning monkey!
Good goth............... not until the new Fields of the Nephilim will we see good guitar goth rock! Then it's time for all this glam goth shit to die. Glam and goth are two things that don't go together! It's like the suicidal guy off "Dead Man on Campus" to me.  ::) I'd say go for the new Diary of Dreams. It's pretty solid. Same for The new Machine in the Garden "Asphodel". I did it wrong in the review.

If you want good goth gotta pretty much stick with the classics in my book, not too much really happening in the scene nowadays. Even the new Fields of the Nephilim (which I hear may well be an incomplete album pushed out into stores. I'm not sure about the Metropolis release of it,though) hasn't helped the scene too much, people I think just ignored it in favor of Cruxshadows  >:(.
To me goth is pretty much dead...................

Generic is not the word, just short on words,or being a bit lazy. Calling him generic is actually the same as calling him an imposter, which is deeply insulting. Generic means something that pretends to be like something else, like a generic brand of chips.
But yeah we do need longer answers. I know Infant has much on his mind to share. What did you like or dislike about the CD?
