LUSINE "A CERTAIN DISTANCE"
NOW SHIPPING!!
For years, Jeff McIlwain has been recording music as Lusine that expertly straddles the electronic/pop divide; with A Certain Distance, McIlwain cracks open his productions to reveal the beauty lurking within. A Certain Distance sees McIlwain employing human vocals and pop structures, hooks and melodies in the service of something warmer and more welcoming than the Lusine of old. Mapping human emotions via technology may be an insurmountable task, but A Certain Distance brings McIlwain closer than most to achieving the impossible. McIlwain has been gradually building his Lusine persona from the jagged majesty of 2005’s Ghostly debut Serial Hodgepodge through the drifting atmospheres of 2007’s Language Barrier (on Hymen Records). Now, with A Certain Distance, Lusine has finally arrived, synthesizing decades of electronic music both popular and experimental into a sophisticated, catchy, and danceable sound unlike anything else. Lassoing bits of downtempo and ambient, pop melodies and leftfield noise, and a smattering of techno and house both minimal and maximal, A Certain Distance is ultimately a work of singular beauty by an artist in full command of his craft. Released on Ghostly International.

***** HOT PRE-ORDERS

RAOUL SINIER "TREMENS INDUSTRY CD+DVD"
Raoul Sinier's fourth full length album sees this Paris-based multi-talented artist repeat the tour de force that was his 2007's "Wxfdswxc2": the thirteen tracks of "Tremens Industry" come packaged together with more than two hours of videos and documentaries. Not only a logical continuation of his discography or an accurate way to get acquainted to his art, "Tremens Industry" is Raoul Sinier's definitive and most important release to date. While Raoul Sinier's gritty but playful, naïve but complex sound has become a trademark of his music, "Tremens Industry" is an album in which he re-invents himself anew as a musician. Following the hip hop beats of "Wxfdswxc2" and the complex, intense "Brain Kitchen", "Tremens Industry" is Raoul Sinier's most accessible album to date. He now writes real songs ("The Hole", "List Of Things", Elle A Raison", "Boxes"), combining vocals with a more focused use of his incredible self-made guitar (whose birth is documented on the DVD). Walking a thin line between the electronic innocence and broken charm of his instrumental material (such as the title track or "Overthoughts Reprise") on the one side and the deep soul of his songs on the other, this new Raoul Sinier offers with "Tremens Industry" his coming-of-age release, in which his maturity rivals with the surprising coherence of the whole album. Released on Ad Noiseam and available October 30th, 2009.

DJ HIDDEN "THE WORDS BELOW"
Offering a sequel to what is already seen as a masterpiece wasn't an easy task for DJ Hidden. And still, "The Words Below" manages to take this producer sharp, beautiful and percussive sound a step higher than 2007's "The Later After". Intense, crisp and varied, this new album doesn't only confirm that DJ Hidden is at the very top of the pyramid of drum'n'bass producer, but forces us to ask ourselves how we could have thought otherwise. In 2007, DJ Hidden's "The Later After" (Ad Noiseam adn73) brought a wave of appraisal and excitement from fans and producers alike. It will have taken two years to bring a sequel to this very remarked first full length album. More detailed, more varied and crafted with even more care, this sophomore effort, "The Words Below" is set to confirm the admiration that one can have of DJ Hidden. Released on Ad Noiseam and available October 30th, 2009.

THE MT FUJI DOOMJAZZ CORPORATION "SUCCUBUS"
Seductive but perilous, he Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble's new session under the Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation name is a new combination of drones and jazz. Creating sensual, murky and dark atmospheres, “Succubus” the evolution of this band, with stronger horns and a focus on hypnotic, soundtrack-like material. A deep, dark and yet seductive trip again for the corporation. After the corpses, the succubus. While rehearsing for their post “Mutations EP” shows, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble recorded a new improv session under their Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation moniker on the 15th of January 2009. Faithful to the original TKDE concept of drawing inspiration from movies, they recording what later became “Succubus” while watching Jess Franco's film of the same name. This iconic 1969 movie, with its strong erotic mood, fragmented story line and oneiric photography encompasses perfectly the goal and means of TKDE / TMFJDC, in the way the band builds mesmerizing, deep and otherworldly atmospheres. JOHN KAMEEL FARAH "UNFOLDING"
John Kameel Farah along with Dross:tik Records presents “Unfolding”, the second full length album from the long time Toronto based pianist and electronic music producer.  “Unfolding” exhibits Farah’s creativity and vast musical influences, blending experimental jazz, surrealistic orchestral textures, along with electronic music production, deep bass lines and Arabic percussion into a seamless cacophony of morphing time signatures and head spinning rhythms.  Composed and performed on his piano and Fender Rhodes (electric keyboard), Farah displays his talent for arrangement, virtuosity and artistry, weaving his pieces with modern electronic music production techniques.  At times, the pianos are multi-tracked, giving the impression of several pianists performing with an orchestra or jazz ensemble.  Drawing inspiration from Middle-Eastern influences and his classical piano training, Farah merges the traditional and avant-garde classical techniques, Jazz fusion and Middle-Eastern musical landscapes while wielding into the fray the genres of drum and bass, electronica, breakcore and dubstep.  The diversity of influences and complexity of the arrangement results in an album that is both challenging to the listener and pleasurable to the ear.
