Asymmetry Festival is an annual event, taking place in Wroclaw, Poland. The aim of the festival is mixing and showcasing diverse artists in a single festival space. Artists who roam the verge of stylistics like metal, rock, electonics, experimental music – alternative music, generally speaking. This year’s event will be the fourth edition of Asymmetry.
Furthermore, this edition will be a ground-breaking one, as it moves out of the organizer’s Firlej club, into a new space – Wroclaw’s Bourgeois Brewery – a beautiful industrial complex from the XIXc. Thanks to this move, the festival will feature three stages (instead of one, like in the case of previous years).
Now a little bit on Asymmetry 4.0′s line-up – so far We have confirmed performances by Aethenor, Amenra (who will appear twice), Bohren & der Club of Gore, Obake (with Trevor Dunn of Fantomas/Mr. Bungle fame), Red Fang, Celeste, Broken Note, Igorrr, Niveau Zero and many others (with more to come). The line-up expresses Our interests with different, often quite remote music genres.
The previous editions included appearances by Godflesh, Electric Wizard, Jesu, Weedeater, Minsk, Baroness, Year of No Light, Julie Christmas, Altar of Plagues and numerous others.

The underground sound is alive and well in the Philippines, thanks to artists such as Caliph8, Malek Lopez, Mark Zero and Fred Sandoval. Well-known in the local community, these four fuse elements of Rock, Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop and Electronica into cohesive, hypnotic jams that were all recorded in two days. These recordings will then be sampled, deconstructed and released later this year as a full-length debut. New Perspectives was there to document the event:

Stay tuned for the full-length features coming in February, only at New Perspectives!

The Smashing Pumpkins, Michael Stipe (R.E.M.), Elton John, David J (Bauhaus / Love & Rockets), Tiësto, Brett Anderson (Suede), Christina Perri (Twilight) and William Reid (Jesus and the Mary Chain) have all had Ysanne play violin, viola and cello with them and/or she’s created string arrangements for songs they have sung. As one of the world’s most sought after alternative rock and pop strings musicians, Ysanne Spevack has played with rock’s most legendary, innovative and inspiring musicians, including Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction / Red Hot Chili Peppers), Steven Severin (Siouxsie and the Banshees), Alain Whyte (Morrissey), Laurie Anderson, and Nik Turner (Hawkwind).
So, it’s natural that she wants fabulous strings for her own solo album. Especially as it’s an album of love songs that she has written and recorded over 8 years, featuring some of her friends including David J (Bauhaus / Love & Rockets), Steven Severin (Siouxsie and the Banshees), Alain Whyte (Morrissey), Nick Yeatman (Joe Strummer / Nick Cave) and Amina Bates (Scanners). It’s been recorded and produced by Kerry Brown (Smashing Pumpkins / Catherine), Kevin Dippold (Smashing Pumpkins / The Seeds), Liam Watson (The White Stripes) and Earle Mankey (Sparks / The Runaways / Concrete Blonde) with much of the album recorded on the same 2″ tape machine that was used for the Smashing Pumpkins album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
It sounds a m a z i n g…
And so Ysanne has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund having her lavish string arrangements recorded by an orchestra in Prague.
* Why an orchestra? Because the only way to get that lush orchestra sound is by using an orchestra… no computer or synthesizer or clever studio musicians can fake an orchestra.
* Why Prague? Because it’s much, much cheaper and more flexible to record in Prague due to the economy, so the orchestra will be paid very well in their own currency, but US dollars buys a lot more time there than in the US. And also, because their style of playing is more emotional than the beautiful LA style, which while being more classically tender, is less raunchy and firey!
* Why Valentine’s Day? Because there’s nothing more romantic than Ysanne’s love songs, except perhaps her love songs backed by an orchestra, except perhaps her love songs with an orchestra in Prague!
** The Campaign So Far * The initial MINIMUM TARGET of $3,000 was hit within 36 hours of the campaign launch! * People from the USA, UK, Italy, India and Australia have all pledged, including celebritied such as a member of the Coppola family and Smashing Pumpkins producer Kerry Brown. * The $3,000 target is enough money to get the orchestra on ONE SONG, so this campaign needs to raise at least $30,000 more if the whole album is to have the orchestra on it! * If there is still more funding after Ysanne’s album is completed, she has pledged to use the money to record the orchestra on songs for her amazing musician friends, starting with the Smashing Pumpkins, whose last record with an orchestra was ‘Tonight, Tonight’ from the album ‘Mellon Colie and the Infinite Sadness’

Artist: From the Mouth of the Sun Title: Woven Tide Formats: LP+Download / CD / Digital Release date: January 31 201 Label : Experimedia Catalog: EXPLP021 / EXPCD021
Woven Tide is the debut album by From The Mouth of The Sun, the new collaboration between Dag Rosenqvist, aka Jasper TX, and composer Aaron Martin. Out of the charred embers of dusk Woven Tide emerges with an incandescent glow. Each glimmer cast by the sustained notes of ebony keys, the taut strings of the cello, and the rampant buzz of guitar lights our way, gives us hope, brings us into the dawn of a new day. As From The Mouth of the Sun, the duo act as our torchbearers, scrawling messages along the walls of an elongated cave, toiling through the decayed remnants of fetid matter to create eight illuminating pieces. The listener, who has wiled away the hours, will find a door; Woven Tide will be the light out of the darkness.
Pieces from Woven Tide as well as solo work by Aaron Martin accompanies the new documentary film by Lost Hill Picture’s Ross McDonnell and Carter Gunn for Fastnet Films, Remember Me, My Ghost, which is currently touring the festival circuit. McDonnell and Carter are most recently known for their award winning documentary film Colony which documents the unexplainable phenomenon known as Colony Collapse Disorder that has left landscapes of empty beehives all across America, and also features music by Aaron Martin. An upcoming short film by McDonnell and Carter featuring Color Loss from Woven Tide will be included on an upcoming Wholpin DVD magazine published by McSweeney’s.
Since 2005 Gothenburg, Sweden based musician Dag Rosenqvist’s work has graced imprints including imprints including Miasmah, Fang Bomb, Under The Spire, Lampse, Lidar, Slaapwel, Kning Disk, Dead Pilot Records, Lowpoint, and Rural Colors.
Since 2006 Topeka, Kansas based composer Aaron Martin’s work has graced imprints including Preservation, Mobeer, Experimedia, Type, Under The Spire, and Sonic Meditations.

Derek Piotr – AGORA Regathered a selection of remixes from AGORA released by bitsquare records 12.5.11 FILE UNDER: Glitch, Leftfield, Dark Ambient
After releasing his solo record AGORA earlier this year, on which AGF assisted in production, Derek Piotr releases a collection of remixes titled AGORA Regathered. Regathered features input from Scanner, Blevin Blectum, and Steinbrüchel among many others. After over half a year of curating material, the final collection of remixes was carefully cherry picked. Piotr sees these tracks as not simply remixes but “essential extensions of the original ideas”. The variety here is breathtaking, from Twenty Knives’ offerings (old school drum patterns triggering vocal freakouts), to the hushed, intimate work of Steinbrüchel and Thone Holo, all the way through Dendrite and Blectum’s exuberant programming of digital squashes and bombastic dancefloor surges of HeeG and Zach Thorpe.
TRACKLISTING: 1. Focus (jhom’s Repetez Remix) 2. Overtaker (HeeG Remix) 3. Remain (Scanner 90 Mix) 4. Remain (Steinbrüchel Remix) 5. From Whiteness (Protofuse Incision Edit) 6. Value System (Dendrite Remix) 7. Overtaker (Twenty Knives Remix) 8. Winter Consummation (Zach Thorpe Mix) 9. Invoce (Lemosh Remix) 10. From Whiteness (Blevin Blectum Remix) 11. Overtaker (Chaircrusher Rmx) 12. Behaviour State (Salakapakka Sound System Remix) 13. Flood Circuit (Thone Holo Remix) 14. Focus (Pitkänen’s Kohti)

“It’s always a major challenge for us to build a new show,” explains Landers. “It starts with a tiny crew and ends up with 23 trucks. We do try to keep it minimal, but it always becomes more rather than less. It’s not our fault, we’re natural show-offs. ” Rammstein has become known the world over for their incendiary and decadent live performances. Fans by the tens of thousands regularly fill arenas and stadiums to take part in what is a wholly unique experience that blends the band’s bombastic music with a pyrotechnic-laden, rock music wonderland. The *Los Angeles Times* smartly described a Rammstein show as “… epic stagecraft on a Wagnerian scale, several notches up from most arena rock.”
A glimpse of Rammstein’s live performances and the full tour dates for the Made in Germany 2012 tour:
With *Made in Germany 1995 – 2011*’s track list (available below) opening up a number of live possibilities, Landers was coy about what songs would be included: “If I tell you, there won’t be any surprises… all I can say is, we tried to incorporate a good mix of all of our work. The band is really enjoying what we are doing and it’s kind of scary how well everything is going. We are looking forward to the American audience because…” Tour dates are listed below with all shows on-sale now.

MERZBOW – LOP LOP – CD * *OUT NOW 12 EURO http://www.rustblade.com/2011/lop-lop/* *There is no need to argue: Merzbow stands as the most important artist in noise music. Akita began to bring about his own brand of noise music in 1979, * *and since then he’s been constantly changing the very foundation his sound is built on. His music is an interpretation of very complex ideologies imbued with a violently non-traditional, but ultimately transparent sense of beauty. On Lop Lop Merzbow takes a step in a new direction from his recent releases and focuses on manipulating sounds and harsh beats in a way meant to make a new mark on the face of his well known style. The synths and guitars scream and sing in a way which allows them to be heard through all the oppressive noise, often returning to ferocious power electronics sounds which clearly define the anger of this new release. The cd comes in special paper packaging with an original painting by Masami Akita. plus a sticker* ** *Tracking list :
