LIYA
explains that “‘No Meaning’ deals with depression after a
breakup… where there is no meaning to life and everything seems
dark.” As she relates that every track on the EP is based on “true
experiences I’ve had with the concept of love,” she continues,
“Apparently for me heartache goes hand in hand in fueling your
creativity.”

3TEETH COVER FOSTER THE PEOPLE’S “PUMPED UP KICKS”; SET SIGHTS ON SONG’S COMMENTARY ON GUN CULTURE IN BLISTERING NEW VIDEO

BAND’S NEW ALBUM, METAWAR, RELEASED NEXT FRIDAY

June 28, 2019, LOS ANGELES – 3TEETH, who are a week away from the release of their Century Media/RED debut, METAWAR, cover Foster The People’s “Pumped Up Kicks,” highlighting the song’s commentary on school shootings in blistering new video (https://youtu.be/lYIsZr9L_rM).

“Industrial bands have a long history of subverting popular culture songs. From songs like Revolting Cocks’ version ‘Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?’ or Laibach’s ‘Sympathy for the Devil,” says 3TEETH front man Alexis Mincolla. “We’ve just always been a fan of this sort of thing and felt it would be a good time to take an iconic song of the late 2000’s and give it some unexpected 2019 industrial darkness, which in the end seemed all too fitting considering the song is about a school shooter.”

The video is the fifth clip to accompany the July 5 release, with 3TEETH being unapologetically pointed in their critique of modern American life throughout the cannon of videos. “PRESIDENT X” (https://youtu.be/eRbKg_5UhlA) tackles rampant conspiracy theories, “AFFLUENZA” (https://youtu.be/mOBfdkGSUWg) addresses the impact of pop culture consumerism, “AMERICAN LANDFILL” (https://youtu.be/EbOKU3j23k0) highlights the police state and the NSFW “EXXXIT” (https://youtu.be/Eq42sN-IgbQ) explores self-liberation.

Once off the road, 3TEETH locked themselves in the studio, releasing their sophomore album, <shutdown.exe>, in the Spring of 2017. The album debuted at #23 on Billboard, and took the band across North America and Europe — headlining, and supporting acts such as Rammstein and Danzig. 3TEETH is Alexis Mincolla (vocals), Xavier Swafford (keyboards), Andrew Means (modular synth/bass), Chase Brawner (guitar) and Justin Hanson (drums).

söder mälarstrand

lena andersson »söder mälarstrand«

lena andersson is a fictional character created by berlin-based japanese artist kyoka and irish producer eomac. both met in 2016 during a residency at the stockholm EMS studios. the initial spark of their collaboration was a joint session on the studio's buchla system, later expanding to multiple other sound sources and instruments at sessions in the etopia studio in zaragoza supported by fuga.

during the improvisations, a call-and-response working principle emerged immediately which joins the special talents of both musicians. kyoka's free and experimental approach forms part of the source material that is contrasted with eomac's skillful editing; unconventional reflections face a driving force. from kyoka's extensive field recording collection, an arabesque of disturbing vocal fragments arises that is set against eomac's hard rhythmic framework, as in »das tier«, for instance. »37 years later« or »mystic« live on a vivid texture that has been condensed directly at the mixing console into a kind of dramaturgical capturing of the moment. the immediacy of the collaboration forms the basis for a synergy of the individual production techniques. a strategy that lacks neither absolute creative freedom nor an awareness of musical function.

»söder mälarstrand« thus captures an intuitive cooperation between the two producers, which also refers back to the place of origin through its dialogical, moment-related production principle. the album title is a tribute to the stockholm studios where the project began.

»söder mälarstrand« will be released on the 28th of june 2019 on CD and digitally.

June 25, 2019 – Chicago's one-woman electro-industrial
army, I YA TOYAH is very proud to announce the new video release for
"Flashback (Rhys Fulber Remix)."
Check the video out
HERE:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHDhRDjctww

"FLASHBACK"
was remixed by Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly, Delerium) and the
music video was filmed by Lumbra Records. Original mix appears on I
YA TOYAH's full-length album CODE BLUE.

"FLASHBACK (Rhys Fulber
Remix)" is available digitally NOW on all major outlets and can be
heard on SPOTIFY.
Rhys Fulber called this version of Flashback "a
sadness on the dancefloor." "I envisioned Berlin at 4 am," he said.

With the visual magic created by Lumbra Records, the viewer is
teleported to Chicago reality-city lights, rush of life, and…mental
alienation. The video was filmed in the middle of a cold April night.
Various locations include Michigan Avenue, Bucktown, Lincoln Park and
more.

I YA TOYAH landed here to spread the disease of music and
infect the human race. She is a one woman army that blend the chaos
and balance with familiar vibe of industrial electronica sound. Her
music is a fusion of smooth, cutting edge vocals, surreal guitars,
hypnotizing beats and multiple electronic synth elements arising into
dark arrangements that, combined with storytelling lyrics, respond to
the paranoia of everyday reality.
