In Decayavailable July 17th worldwide, provides a fascinating alternative routemap for the idiosyncratic journeys of New Jersey producer Seth Haley — aka Com Truise — through the history of electronic music. A compilation of unreleased, early recordings, In Decay encompasses 13 tracks that have previously been either only available as demos online or are entirely unheard tracks dating from before Haley’s official releases — his debut Cyanide Sisters EP, its follow-up full-length Galactic Melt, and last year’s Fairlight EP.

While the ’80s-influenced synth sounds, rubbery basslines and sci-fi flavors that inform Haley’s later work are in full effect here, they’re assembled in manners different enough to make this both a fine record in its own right, and also a fascinating insight into the development of the distinctive Com Truise sound. It also finds the producer exploring a number of facets of that sound, from 8-bit influenced experimentalism to distinctly danceable beats — often within the confines of the same track.

“Controlpop”, for instance, announces itself with an intro that sounds like a Commodore 64 being hit with a hammer, but resolves into slow liquid synthfunk that recalls Galactic Melt highlights like “VHS Sex” and “Flightwave.” Its slow-burning dance vibe is shared by several other tracks — “Colorvision” and “Yxes”, amongst others — while elsewhere, Haley drops the tempo and channels the psychedelic cosmic meanderings of forebears like Tangerine Dream and Popol Vuh. “Dreambender” sounds like it should be soundtracking a voyage into uncharted digital innerspace, while “Video Arkade” cruises along on a woozy rising-and-falling synthline that’s like drifting on some sort of virtual reality rollercoaster. Like all Haley’s work, it’s like stepping into a strange, digital parallel world — a place constructed out of sounds both immediately familiar and yet somehow rendered thoroughly fresh, and a place that’s worth staying for quite some time.

While we wait for the In Decay compilation, Ghostly International and Com Truise have repressed the vinyl version of Galactic Melt (Redux) and are offering the Cyanide Sisters EP on vinyl for the first time ever. Both releases come with a slight change in artwork from the originals and the redux of Galactic Melt comes with a slight change in packaging. You can order now at The Ghostly Store.

Com Truise also has a few more dates in his summer plans.

Zoharum presents: new releases out on 30.06.2012

RAPOON | X-NAVI:ET | AABZU | V/A SENSITIVE DATA 2 | BISCLAVERET & FEINE TRINKERS BEI PINKELS DAHEIM

RAPOON – time-loop anomalies (ZOHAR 030-2)
“Time-Loop Anomalies”, the next Rapoon offering on Zoharum after “Disappeared Redux”, contains more than an hour of eerie, ethereal music lingering on the borderlands of dreamworld and reality. Robin Storey, the man behind the moniker, delivers yet again a subtle woven masterpiece, both being a bold step into the new world and in the vein of his earlier projects continuing recurring themes in his artistic work.
Robin says:
“Time-loop Anomalies” is a collection of single tracks and  ‘starts’ in the creative process drawn together and composed into a cohesive collection of pieces. Many times in the method of composing new works different directions and musical elements are created and then honed down into a direction which is built upon and re-enforced throughout the “narrative” of a album.
“Time-loop Anomalies” is a collection of short stories put together and given a unifying theme which binds the various elements.
The pieces span a wide timescale, but, in the spirit of quantum mechanics, they are tossed together and create new and different perspectives through the workings of chance and composition.
There are hundreds more “starts” that resurface and disappear as time goes by. These are some that made it to the final stage of the creative method and got to be published.
Sputnik remix is my own personal favourite as it is autobiographical, in the sense that I remember looking into the starry skies when I was very young and seeing the little pinprick of light travel through the heavens. It left a deep impression of loneliness and separation upon me …bleak but beautiful…
AABZU – there’s no other god than rambo! (ZOHAR IYHHH 007)
Maciek Szymczuk and Łukasz Szałankiewicz. Two restless spirits. Working together since 2002. The first result was released on  “Nowe:le” (Rec Vivo, 2002) – a song “There’s No Way”, still credited to Zenial vs. Maciek Szymczuk. In 2005 AABZU’s debut album “The Shape of Lost Things” (Simple Logic Rec – split from PHYRL) was released, presenting a world of delicate structures, based on all kinds of glitches and ambient, repetitive
backgrounds. Next years the group spent on playing concerts in the country and abroad, participating in many festivals such as UNSOUND, ELECTRO-MECHANICS, WRO and MPM Ambient Gorlice. In the meantime, the duo was preparing the material for their second album. “Rambo” was published in 2010, thanks to AudioTong, picking up rave reviews and is not taking prisoners, just like the title character of this release. Music, richer and more diverse than on its predecessor,  sparkles with many colours and remains, despite this heterogeneity, consistent. In one composition, Mian Mian, a Chinese writer (known for “Candies”), recites excerpts from her new book.
X:NAVI:ET- brain overloaded (ZOHAR IYHHH 006)
“brain overloaded” is the new CD album created by Rafał Iwański (X-NAVI:ET, Voices of the Cosmos, HATI) which is composed of electroacoustic compositions recorded with analogue tone generators, machine filters, synthesizers, and, to a lesser extent, acoustic objects. Apparently, it’s the most electronic face of X-NAVI:ET, and, at the same time, the reckoning of the post-industrial style which was an important stage on Rafał Iwański’s creative path somewhere in the mid-1990s. “brain overloaded” is 7 sonic journey recorded between 2008 and 2011 related with the research on human brain. The question raised is if our industrial and digital world we created has started surpassing the capacity of our brains which were evolutionally designed to gather information. In other words, have they started to “overload”? Can the information surplus move us back? “brain overloaded” is an impulse for investigating ways of simply not going mad in this world. The album is dedicated to William S. Burroughs – one of the most enlightened minds of the era in which we are to live.
The author of the paintings used on the cover is Ewa Bińczyk, an artist from Toruń.
Attention! The symptoms unlikely to occur after listening to the album are
the decrease of IQ, withdrawal, stupor and indifference.

The RaZor Skyline Album: “Dark Water Oasis” (COP International) Release: 14.08.2012

It’s been nine years since The RaZor Skyline conquered our ears with their seductive album “The Bitter Well”. With their new album “Dark Water Oasis”, The RaZor Skyline bring together an uneasy alliance of goth, industrial, new wave, metal and tribal belly dance to create a dark, danceable soundtrack for the 21st century. Electronic beats mesh with tribal drums. Layers of synths swirl and pulsate, punctuated by bursts of heavy guitars. On top of this dramatic framework, Miska Kazda’s powerful vocals recount the stories that define our turbulent times and the emotions they churn up from the depths of our hearts. The RaZor Skyline build on top of the musical foundation they’ve laid over the last 3 albums and push the songs to new polished heights under the guidance of Jon Klein, guitarist, producer and song writer with the legendary bands Specimen and Siouxsie and the Banshees. “Dark Water Oasis” is an allegory of the desperate times we live in, the hope of redemption in the desert we ourselves have created only to discover that the well is poisoned.

STEVEN SEVERIN | Vampyr CD (CSR170CD) £8 / £9 / £10

Shipping: 5th July
Following on from 2010’s ‘Blood Of A Poet’ (CSR135CD), Steven Severin presents the third score in his ‘Music For Silentes’ series. Acclaimed solo artist and founder member of the legendary Siouxsie And The Banshees, Severin presents a mesmerising score, heightening appreciation of the surreal and enigmatic nature of th:e original work. ‘Vampyr’, Carl Theodor Dreyer’s unsettling tale of fear and obsession, finds its aural counterpart in Severin’s textured score; a synthesised, highly atmospheric soundscape drawing the listener rhythmically into the story. Shot with a silent film aesthetic despite being within the sound era (and a year after Lugosi starred in Universal’s ‘Dracula’), ‘Vampyr’ is an alternative take on the cinematic vampire, creating an intense, nightmarish atmosphere that haunts the mind. Presented in a textured card sleeve with artwork by Arban.

NDE | Kampfbereit CD (CSR164CD) £8 / £9 / £10

Shipping: 5th July
The legacy of misantrophy, a life of brutality, the aftermath. The second album from mysterious Belgian act NDE is finally here. Now a solitary enterprise, ‘Kampfbereit’ rings in a new era of isolation and desolation. Gone are the Martial elements from ‘Krieg Blut Ehre Asche’ (CSR110CD) and instead the listener is engulfed in claustrophobic Death Industrial turmoil. The music is the focus here. Use your imagination while listening to it.
